AccountCanBeDeletedParticipantWith Chicago vs. Miami facing each other tonight for the first time this season, thought I would get a thread started to see what everyone opinion on the game is and what they’re looking forward to seeing. As this match-up is most likely the first of four preview of the eastern conference final.
—
News regarding who’s playing.
As far as I’m aware Miami has their full squad tonight, whilst the Bulls will be without Deng and Rip is uncertain to play.
—
What I will be keeping an item on:
- With Deng out, and Rip uncertain. I will be looking to see if the Bulls will be able to contain Wade and LeBron. The most likely situation given the injuries will be that Brewer will spend most of the game guarding LeBron and Rose will guard Wade, with Kyle Korver and the smaller guards guarding Miami’s PG. So will be interesting to see if they can contain them without their starting SF. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if you see Miami going with LeBron and Wade at PG during the most the game in order to create mismatches, using Miller and Battier given the Bulls situation.
- The other thing I will be looking at is if the Heat can cope with the Bulls frontcourt. In last year’s playoff with Noah/Boozer not at 100% and Asik injured, they never got to feel the full force of the Bulls big men. So will be interested to see how Miami goes about defending them and how the cope.
—
I personally think the difference and the winner will be determined by who wins on the mismatches, Miami in the backcourt or the Bulls in the frontcourt.Whichever one wins that will the game.
Anyway I’m still hoping we get a good close game and we get another

llperezim always looking forward to seeing the heat lose, but i dont care for the bulls either. But it should be fun. Not having deng hurts the bulls big time though. rose has to be the best player on the court for the bulls to win this one and im interested to see if that happens.

Chicago really missing Deng at the moment.

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantI love rose and all but he looks so afraid out there. He should be trying to drive every single play. He is playing like a wimp and backing down to Lebron. Right now it looks like Lebron wants it more which is strange considering Rose and bron’s history. Hopefully Rose will be more agressive and take control of his team.

IndianaBasketballParticipantLeBron shoots the same pull up jumper going to his left… You think they’d figure that out by now. I mean, if he elevates over you and makes it, then so be it. But that move shouldn’t be fooling anybody. He almost never pulls up going to his right.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 01/29/2012 - 12:31pm #629848
AccountCanBeDeletedParticipantConsidering that the Bulls are still right in this against a injury-free Miami, missing probably their best defender and 2nd/3rd scoring option in Deng. I fail to see everyone’s view that the Heat will make the finals, beating the Bulls on their way so easily.
—
In regards to the game, time for Kyle Korver to start draining down those three’s. Bulls to win xD.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 01/29/2012 - 12:31pm #629849
HaleParticipantPaul Pierce always does the exact same turnaround every single time in late game situations and no one has ever figured that out either. It’s disappointing.

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantBulls shouldn’t hang their heads. They almost beat the Heat with missing CJ and Luol. They should be excited that they would have beat them with Deng and CJ. Should be interesting when they Play next time this season.

Malik-UniversalParticipantlebron is smiling and everything when his choking ass blew two FT’s and stole the jump ball
and the heat nearly lost after being up by 11 in the forth

DanEboyParticipantAhhhh, I have no energy left. That was a great game that could have gone either way. The refs were horrible all the way around in this one.
Three more regular season games, then hopefully an ECF match up. Going to be one hell of a series. Hopefully both teams are at full strength.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 01/29/2012 - 1:27pm #629885
llperezit will be a very good series if it does happen in the playoffs. Bulls didnt have deng, but heat didnt have wade playing well at all either. I will be pulling for the bulls if it does go down. In the end, it was a winnable game and rose didnt finish strong so i doubt they take a moral victory from this. But this doesnt hurt their confidence in the least bit.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 01/29/2012 - 1:31pm #629887
AccountCanBeDeletedParticipantUnlucky lose for the Bulls, they could have easily came out with the win. Miami will be breathing with a sigh of relief after that win.
—
However, the ref’s were poor. Those last 20-30 seconds of the game, ruined the game for me. That’s not including the bad calls before that.
Anyways looking forward to the next game with Deng and CJ back, especially with Stacey King commentating.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 01/29/2012 - 1:33pm #629888
IndianaBasketballParticipantThe Bulls will make it a tougher series this year, but I still see the Heat winning.
Main factor is that they have three players they can go to down the stretch, while the Bulls have one. The only way the Bulls can win is if Boozer, Deng, Hamilton, etc make open shots.
Rose had a good game, but I still think what happened last season is in his head. He didn’t attack the same in the fourth once LeBron was put on him and the Bulls offense didn’t have as much success.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 01/29/2012 - 1:46pm #629889
AccountCanBeDeletedParticipantI think your reading to much into it. Yes Rose didn’t attack as much, but he did give them that 3pt play to get to 93-94 and then could have easily had them up by one with 20 seconds to go, had he made those two free throws. Also, had he made those it would have gone to LeBron or Wade to win the game; so anything could have happened. Even with that said, I still think Rose was aggressive enough.
—
I do agree with the bulls hitting those open shots comment though. I do believe that Boozer is either going to be what win’s it for the Bulls or loses it for them. He has to consistently hit that mid range jumper or it’s going to cost the Bulls come playoff time. Rip and Deng I’m more comfortable with.
—
Also, will have to disagree with you in regards to the Heat winning. Bulls all the way xD.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 01/29/2012 - 2:21pm #629898
IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t think Rose scored with LeBron on him. He didn’t take LeBron off of the dribble once. His only basket was in transition when he got the and one versus Chalmers.
I’m Rose all of the way, but LeBron will get a lot of criticism for his play down the stretch, but Rose took some bad shots, got away with a travel and a charge. His missed those two free-throws and also missed a wide open pass to Hamilton during that final shot.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 01/29/2012 - 3:06pm #629902
AccountCanBeDeletedParticipantI can acknowledge that Rose might not have scored on LeBron during those final minutes which he was assigned to Rose. I can also accept that LeBron will get slated for missing the two free throws, as well as Rose for some of his 4th quarter shot selection and those two free throws to tie/lead the game.
The travel and charge are hit and miss, because those at the end of the day are the referees call and ‘what if’s’ situations.
However, one thing I won’t accept is Rose being criticized for not passing the ball to Rip in the final play. I don’t even know if Rose saw him during that final sequence, but one thing I know about franchise players is they put their team on their back. How many times have you seen Kobe/Paul Pierce etc miss those final second shots? Rose had hit that floater the last 3 time’s during the game and had every right to try and tie the game right there. Yes Rip might have been the better option, but Rose will take full responsibility for that play, had Rip got that ball and missed then he would have been criticized more.
Paul Pierce I remember reading one time said how he always wants to take the last shoot so that if anyone gets the blame it’s him. He doesn’t want someone else to be criticized, he takes it in his pride and knows if he misses it’s all on him. I think with Rose the same applies.
I still think Rose will learn from this, and Thibs will make sure that any mistakes he made will be seen and corrected for the next time they play any team. However, like I said in my opinion I refuse to accept that Rose should be slated for putting his team on his back and taking that shoot.Yes it might not have been the right option, but he had every right to take it in my books.
Like I always say my two cents. You might disagree with it, but that’s my opinion.

marcusfizer21ParticipantWow… talking about playoff atmosphere… I got exhausted watching the game… I just wanna say that the Bulls CAN beat the Heat, they just need to execute better at the closing seconds… One thing the Bulls has always done is come back from a huge deficit and they did that tonight…They never gave up and they played well but wasn’t able to close it. I don’t think the Bulls will lose any confidence or swag that they have right now, they have the best record and they’re going to learn from this game… I would have been frustrated had they lost by 20, but to see them get to as close as one point is good enough for now. This is going to be a tough challenge for the Bulls because the Heat have a better bench than last year. They just need Lu healthy and Boozer to step up and help D Rose.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 01/29/2012 - 5:00pm #629933
Maniac MaciejParticipantJust a couple takeaways…
Who is the Bulls second-best player? Especially without Deng, it seems like they have a #1 player and then a bunch of #3’s. I don’t think they can beat the Heat in a 7 game series without figuring this one out.
Does D-Wade get fouled on every jumpshot he takes?
LeBron’s 1-on-1 game is his biggest weakness, right? He had a couple powerful post moves, but otherwise still settles for the stepback jumpers way too much. He just happened to be hitting ’em tonight.
The Miami Heat on the fastbreak is the most unstoppable force in the NBA.
