machu46ParticipantIf I remember right, the majority opinion was that if anyone gave him a promise, it was Toronto. I think Waiters even said himself that it wasn’t the Cavaliers that promised him.

Although Waiters wouldn’t reveal which team made him the promise, he did say it wasn’t the Cavaliers.
“I didn’t even talk to Cleveland,” he said. “I didn’t even work out for Cleveland.”

jjbutler73ParticipantIt really doesn’t matter who makes a promise anyways. It’s not binding or legal and somebody above them can still draft a guy or someone can fall to them and they can renege on the promise.
