avavalisParticipantAfter missing the 1st pick the bobcats should expore their optinos via trade. A very interesting trade i came up with is one involving Portlands lottery picks.
CHA:6th pick 11th pick
POR:2nd pick and DJ Augustin in a sign and trade (he is gonna be a RFA)
Augustin is a really good player if put in a position where he can distribute the ball to worth teammates and if the blazers want to gamble on drummond this trade leaves them with a very formidable starting five :Augustin,Matthews,Batum(if they resign him),Aldridge,Drummond(or a veteran w/ ‘dre coming off the bench) and a solid bench :Nolan smith (i am expexting a leap in his production),Jamal Crawford,Shawne Williams,JJ Hickson (cheaply resigned),Kurt Thomas(or Drummond),Luke Babbit and Thrilla Przybilla. Looking into the future a frontcourt of Batum,Aldridge and Drummond is something scary.
Now the Bobcats part: I think that they should select Jeremy Lamb with the 6th pick and form a UConn tandem with kemba that has worked outstandingly in the past . With the 11th pick they should select an offensive minded PF/C to compliment Biyombo well and provide them another dimension on offense…a guy like Jared Sullinger (if he’s available) or Tyler Zeller would be really good…a starting lineup of Walker,Lamb,Maggette,Sully(or Zeller) and Bismack w/ Reggie Williams,Gerald Henderson,BJ Mullens,DJ White,Gana Diop,Tyrus Thomas and a backup point via free agency is a good way to start with ..next summer with 18million off the books (Maggette and Diop) MJ can finally impact the signing of a capable SF …not to mention that they will probably continue to be quite bad next year which means another lottery pick and even more trading options

kobyzParticipanti will like it very much for Bobcats but i don’t know if it worthy enough deal for Portland and also they may rather bring back Raymond Felton who is better PG than Augustin.

r377ParticipantNice post dude – yeh Lamb and Sullinger would be good for the bobcats. Walker and ex teammate JLamb. Sulliinger would work well with Biyombo….
Gerald Henderson is quite good for a SG, they would prob need a SF – maybe Barnes if available at 6. They could maybe deal Henderson to Minny for Beasley.
pg – Walker sg – JLamb sf – Beasley pf – Sullinger c Biyombo

dolla33that gud but lamb wouldnt fill up enough points the first year like barnes would and barnes is top 5 i think bobcats should stay at 2 and try to trade to get the 10 or 11 pick then also try to get the rockets 14 or 16 pick as well HARRISION,AUSTIN,& JARED would be amazing trio for the cats

avavalisParticipantI don’t like the presence of two ball dominant combos in kemba and austin…that’s why i included lamb instead of barnes..a barnes selection could only be combined by a ross selection later which is a bit of reach

ChrisCrossParticipantno, Augustine is not that great and plus, Portland is better off getting two players rather than just one player at #2

kaanyrvhokParticipantWithout dealing their 11 or getting back a pick in the high teen or low 20s if they do.
Moving up to 2 is too expensive and I dont think Drummond is worth it and while DJ is an upgrade over Felton he doesnt sweeten things enough. I would rather start Machado at PG or Marshall than DJ or Felton so picks are more worthy than the sweetener.
