I know the celts dont have much to offer, but I was thinking jermaine oneal, bradley, cash and one of their first rounders for kaman. The hornets get another big expiring contract to save money for next year, a young back up pg, possibly future starter, and another first rounder in a strong draft…. The celts add rebounds and blocks they desperately need and another huge contract coming off the books. so the celts can make one last push and between 3 men 46 million is cleared for next summer to add whoever they want… Just a thought

I love it for the Celtics. Kaman is still a good starting center so another team might offer more than Bradley and a pick in the 15-20 range.

IF the Hornets don’t want to play Chris Kaman due to wanting to play their younger players, why would they trade for Jermaine O’Neal?

I get the feeling the Hornets want back young players and/or picks.

JO is probably in the deal for the salaries to match. They are getting Avery Bradley and a draft pick.

I guess my thinking was that the Hornets could get back better.

Bradley is a tough on ball defender, but the rest of his game looks pretty weak. And the Celtics look like they’re about to turn it around… I doubt that pick is going to be very high.

BothTeamsPlayedHard proposed a trade from Houston that made more sense. All young players that the Hornets could give playing time opportunities to this season.

The trade is bad, simple as that. The Hornets can get much more value than a backup PG and a mid 1st round pick for Kaman. Kaman when given minutes can still average you all star numbers and considering the shortages of C’s around the league has much more value than you people are giving him credit for.

Yes this trade is great for all you biased Celtic fan, but in reality this trade is a joke and in no world is Bradley and a pick for Kaman, fair or realistic

Also, for your information the trade doesn’t work as the salaries don’t match. The Celtics would have to add $4m more to the trade suggested just to make it work. So next time you come out and make a trade suggestion, at least try and make the salaries matches. Especially if it’s going to be as biased and bad as yours.

I think that deal might be a little bit of a low ball, but it’s not going to be that far off what they end up getting.

Kaman has missed roughly 150 games over the last four years. The track record for oft injured, soon to be 30 year old centers regaining their old form isnt the greatest. Injuries to guys Kamans size and age tend to have a pretty big effect on long term physical prowess. Teams arent going to pay top dollar with the kind of risk that Kaman carries.

@johndoe…. They dont need to match exactly, plus the celts could put in a keyon dooling and a mill in money and it would be within 25%….  The Hornets arnt gonna get that much back for kaman, i mean they are sitting him till they trade him and most teams that get him will only use him for a one year rental anyway so they wont give up all their players… also i think jermaine works perfectly so they can still add a mac contract in the summer…. so they get a backup center for the rest of the year as well… and also a pick from 15-20 in this draft could land a kendall marshall or teaque or terrence jones… so the 15-20 range pick still has some good talent to draft in the furture and with bradley signed for 2 more years at 1.5 mill its a cheap back up who is pretty decent that could blossom…. even if the celts add their other 1st rounder if other teams come with more…. 2 first round picks from 15-25 to the hornets who then would have 4 first rounders in a really strong draft…. thats great to rebuild around…

    Another Kaman Idea

    NOH gets: Mo Williams

LOB City gets: Ben Gordon and a future 2nd rounder from NOH

DET gets: Chris Kaman and a 2nd rounder from NOH

If this was going to happen, the Hornets would place O’Neal on waivers and i would think the Celtics would pick him up again, the Hornets really seem like they want to just get rid of Kaman, not necessarily pick up much else in return.

But New Orleans didn’t want to take back J.O. in a David West S/T this offseason. Why want him now?
