td8118ParticipantThis is probably their last run with this current team….Allen and Pierce are headin into free agency, what do you think theyre plans are…Do they try to keep both of them heading into the downward half of their careers….If not do they attempt to get another marquee free agent or is it rebuilding mode…I see them keeping Pierce but Allen going somewhere else…I think that now that the Celtics are accustomed to winning, they are not going to let any time go between having contenders…If Allen and Pierce go where could u see them playing?

llperezwell, I think the big 3 might have 2-3 more years in them But they would have to settle for much less money so the team could sign some other young players.

quincey hodgesthey are gonna be in a tough situation..because they dont wanna sign ray to a long term deal which im sure hes looking for because they wanna rebuild as well as stay competitive but they dont wanna lose him for nothing and not too many teams are gonna trade a good young player for him

McWinningParticipanti dont like their future Rondo will leave im guessing and the big three is getting older. they should rebuild through the draft.

fastdanParticipantI doubt PP will option out as he is set to make lots of money next year. As for Allen, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him resign for significantly less for one or two years. He’s been making lots of money in this league for a long time, and main priority is probably to win championships, and since he’s already built chemistry with the other players in Boston I can’t imagine he’d find somewhere with a better situation

td8118ParticipantIDK in a way hes accomplished everything he set out to do in Boston….I think its forgotten how good he is and he may want to have a bigger role….He seems like a team oriented guy, but you never know a players psychology, hes definitely sacrificed the most out of any of the big 3

quincey hodgesits been said through a coupe of sites that allen wants one more kinda big contract and that hes lookin gfor years(3-4 more) but i dont think boston has him in there plans for that long

marcusfizer21Participant“i dont like their future Rondo will leave im guessing and the big three is getting older. they should rebuild through the draft.”
The reason why they made big acquisitions in Ray Allen and KG was because they never had luck on their side when it comes to the draft…
Example 1: The 1997 NBA Draft where they have a huge chance of landing Tim Duncan if they pick 1st. But they ended up picking 3rd thus drafted Chauncey Billups who was never yet the Billups of old.
Example 2: When they where one of the worst teams again in 2007 and could have had a chance to land Greg Oden or Kevin Durant at 1st or 2nd but they landed 5th…
A lot of misfires for the Celtics in terms of ping-pong balls as far as I’m concerned…^^
