Celtics3178Participantthe Celtics might make some small deals but next year is when the fun begins. Why trade anything for Gordon Heyward when he will opt out next year and sign with us? He wants to play for Stevens and Stevens loves Heyward so wait a year let this golden state squad play out for a year and keep your assets. Also the nets are getting worse while other teams improve. Those picks could very well be #1 draft choices. You wait a year and all you have to trade for a superstar is the one net picks with nothing else. The celts are very well positioned to have it4 and smart Heyward and brown Horford and possibly Giles or if you trade that pick butler or cousins and you have all star talent starting with future all star talent off the bench. Signing Horford changed everything for us. For those who say he’s overrated we had KO Sully Zeller Amir hes a major upgrade for us. Signing Heyward also allows us to package ab and crowder next year with the 2018 nets pick and possibly bring in 2 all stars along with Heyward.

markfitz14ParticipantI don’t mind waiting another year and seeing where the pick lands one bit. The team is awesome as is. Easily a top 10 team. With some excellent up and comers. Brown, Smart and Rozier looks good in Summer Leauge.
Not sure about the next 14 days but could be dragged out until the trade deadline. Wait to see if Rozier can play like this in the NBA. Which I think he can. Now we have a legit backup combo guard. It would make Smart more tradeable.
Trade Smart, Brown, Jerebko and Nets pick Top 3 protected if possibile. For Cousins
IT, Bradley, Crowder, Horford, Cousins — Rozier as the 6th man. Hope that RJ and Young can improve some and play backup minutes. I think that team definetley competes with the Cavs.
Kings start over and develop some young talent. Also get there own high draft pick in a loaded draft plus the Nets pick. Pretty much a nobrainer on their part.

ZachAttackParticipantI understand that Hayward could choose the Celtics over the Jazz next offseason… But, why would he do it now, instead of 3 years ago when he was first a free agent? He was linked to the Celtics since the beginning of that summer especially with it being Stevens first year there, but he stuck with the Jazz. Why would he leave now?

Celtics3178ParticipantThe Celtics didn’t have the money to get him then and he was a restricted free agent. He’s no longer a restricted free agent and is getting paid the same as Timothy mozgov. He wants to be in the playoffs and he has no chance in Utah of reaching a western conference finals. No big name player is going there and even if the teams improves they aren’t a contender. The west is too strong and the rich keep getting richer out there. Atleast on the east you have a fighting chance. Do you honestly see Utah in the next 3 years even if there guys get to max potential being better then gsw or Spurs. when the Jazz don’t make the playoffs again he’s gone. It sucks to say it but unless u can attract big name talent u need to land a super star in the draft.

machu46ParticipantI’d be shocked if the Jazz seemingly went all in to get back to the playoffs and then traded their best player before the season even begins.

markfitz14ParticipantThen the Jazz will offer him a Max contract next year and the Celtics will think twice about offering him that much money.
