Reports are the celtics have interviewed him 2 weeks ago and are interested in moving into the draft to get him. As a Celtics fan I love Jaylen brown and think he’s already a proven 2 way player who is only going to get better. That being said they aren’t trading Tatum and Rozier isn’t as valuable to the mavs smith jr and grizz Conley. Brown would fit perfect next to both players.

With brown the celts start Kyrie brown Tatum Heyward and hordford with Rozier, Morris and I think they will sign smart.

With bamba the celts start Kyrie Heyward Tatum Horford and Bamba. With Rozier Morris and smart off the bench.

When you look at it the second line up saves money financially you get Tatum, Bamba, that kings pick fits in line better now. It also makes you switchable on D at every position when Marcus plays PG and a nightmare for teams to guard a 6’9 sg sf and pf who can all shoot the 3. Rozier fills in for Kyrie. Morris is solid on D and can score. smart is solid on D and terrible on Offense. Bamba is your big man rim protector who you hope can guard Embiid moving forward.

I love this guy but with the way the chips fall he is the odd man out. Danny is also a GM that has proven he does not get attached to players emotionally and will do what’s best for the overall team. Again It would irritate me if they got a big man. Sixers fan here!

Don’t know if they should go for the Kid as he looks a little like a project and may not fully suit Bostons time line without ruining it current roster. I would probably like to Start: Horford,Taytum,Hayward,Brown and Irving with one of Taytum or Brown getting a lot of mins with the Bench unit also so they get their touches/minutes. But you never know what angle Ainge is fully playing or if he is thinking more longterm potential as Stars(Horford, irving,Hayward probably have 3-4 good years left)..

Lets assume Bamba goes anywhere from 3-7 range.

Hawks-You give up Brown, one of Smart or Rozier there pick(this year which will be low) and maybe a future first. By taking one of the Guards off the celtics this allows them to move on from Dennis S.

Mavs-Brown,The Kings pick and there  current pick as they have no real need for the PG’s

Magic-Brown,One of Smart or Rozier and there pick this year.

Memphis-Brown,Their pick,The Kings pick and one of Smart and Rozier.

The only reason you are really giving up on Brown is Because Taytum has the higher ceiling,Hayward will be impossible to move due to his deal and coming off an injury like that. You also don’t want to ruin Chemistry due to someone sulking due to not getting minutes like this season.

You Move one of the Guards so you don’t have to over pay for Surplus players but you make sure you choose wisely on who you are giving up though.

The picks are what would convince someone to give up on a top 5 pick.

No way the Celtics give up Brown and Kings pick. Ludicrous. They probably don’t give up Brown which is why a deal doesn’t happen.

Very interesting rumor given this age of small ball in the NBA to go after a big to pair with Horford which would be a more traditional frontline.

It would be awesome to see a team try win playing their own style and try beat small ball with something other than the same.

Bamba is not traditional he’s a freak! And I believe in this situation they are looking more towards the future with horrors getting old but also adding serious front court depth and also even more scary providing them with even more versatile line ups smh lol. Shoot they could roll out a line up of  kyrie gordon Tatum hordord and Bamba and be straight offensively because horford can shoot and defensively they could survive because Bamba is back there!

Teams are scared to deal with Ainge now but if he really wants Bamba, the Griz should get an offer that is too good to refuse – Jaylen Brown, the #27 and give Memphis their own future 1st rd pick back. He could even offer Yasubule and Nader as well. The Griz would have to take it, its too good a deal not to.
If that happens – holy mother of God what a lineup –

    Irving Hayward Tatum Horford Bamba
    Rozier Smart Baynes

..and they still have the Kings pick next year. That is scary.

He remembers how easy it was for the guards when they have smart bigs.  Bamba reminds him of Robert Parrish.  Things ebb and flow and there hasn’t been a very high iq big since Duncan, maybe Gasol but he’s older now, but you know what these guys can determine games.

I think Bamba looks like a cross between David Robinson and Bill Russell.

It would be wise for the Celtics to try to land DeAndre Jordan in a sign and trade.  He would cost less in assets.

commit millions to an offensive aging liability as opposed to the same caliber player on a rookie contract??? Think Bryan Colangelo! lol

I love Bamba — I would probably draft him with the 3rd pick as best player available.

But do I think Bamba is ready to play meaningful minutes for a championship contender? Absolutely not.

And can I easily imagine five years from now that Jaylen Brown has made multiple all-star teams, while Bamba is just a really good rim protector/rebounder with major offensive limitations, a la Joakim Noah? Yes, I can see that.

A lot will depend on where Bamba’s draft status ends up being the nearer we get to draft night, he has been up and down the top 10 quite a lot and in a deep draft could fall further than we think. Look at Dennis Smith who went down to 9 last year due to depth of PGs in the draft. This year’s top of the draft is big man heavy so one or two of these guys may fall. Throw in Cavs and Philly drafting higher and you have a lot of options in there.

If Bamba did slip then teams could well be shaping to move up and try to get him. Would the Cavs pass on him at 8, I doubt it, Knicks at 9 I doubt it, Philly at 10 certainly not. Plus these teams are in a better place to move up than other teams.

But Danny Ainge always seems to have options and like the greatest Celtic Coach and Executive ever Red Auerbach he can never seem to have enough picks so a move into the draft lottery cannot be ruled out.

Jaylen Brown is from Atlanta, cant believe no one brought this up yet. I would go to Atlanta give them Brown, 2018 first and the Kings pick. Then they can get Bamba.

If not try to sign Nerlens

I love Bamba and his potential, BUT NO WAY Boston/Ainge gives up J Brown and next years Sac pick. Brown is a proven up and coming talent and the more important wing position in today’s game. Brown straight up is worth a 3-5 pick.

teams between 3 -5 can either have Brown straight up or a package of High draft picks such as Sac’s, Memphis’ and Rozier but they can’t get both.

This is Danny Ainge and he doesn’t over pay for a player.

totally agree. There is no way they trade Briwn right now as he was incredible for them this postseason and has incredible talent to offer. Boston still has a lot of future picks they can offer instead and Roziers value has never been higher then now. If Atlanta really sends out Schröder, then Rozier might be appealing to them and the Sacto and Grizzlies picks could be truely golden next year. Man Ainge has the deepest pockets in the league and maybe the Grizz buy back their own pick who knows.

Bamba could be the beast they lack in Boston’s frontcourt but I doubt anyone actually wants to deal with Danny at all but we‘ll see.

Heres the deal with Bamba and Ainge knows it..

Hes still very raw and needs developmemt but given the Celtics situation Bamba will be able to develop on the Celtics bench and build confidence with a team that has a winning pedigree..

A team making a trade with the Celtics are basically saying “look we dont have the time to develop a center on a prime rookie contract” Take him but we want young game ready pieces..

Ainge is always hedging his position because he knows Brad Stevens and his staff will maximize any talent they touch..

And Bamba has gobs of potential.
