KidBParticipantThe current consensus (as of 5/26/14) out of Cleveland is that:
1. They’re really really interested in Joel Embiid. They were interested in Wiggins when they won the lottery, but the majority of fans there now are clamoring for Embiid, according to reports.
2. The Kyrie Irving situation. They’re also most likely not going to give him a max contract extension that he most likely will be looking for. So, if it turns out that he’s gonna want to leave, then it’ll cause another big hole for them to fill at the 1.
I don’t want to jump to any conclusions too early, but it seems that the two most-important positions in basketball are now issues that need to be addressed there. So, there’s still hope for Bucks and Sixers fans, and fans who favor Wiggins or Parker going to either of them. If it turns out that the Cavs go with either Embiid, Exum, or Smart, then what else can Bucks or Sixers fans ask for !

Hi its BenParticipantThey would trade down to take Smart/Exum. They are not in the conversation for the number one pick.

BallinmvpParticipantThe Cavs better not take exum over embiid, wiggins, Parker. I believe the Cavs should take embiid and will take him. If they really wanted exum, which I don’t think they do, then they would trade down. But it’s a mute point because I believe they are going to take embiid.

thetrademachineryParticipantirving will be restricted, he won’t leave without anything. if he leaves i believe they would get a legit PG or a high draft pick that would be a PG in return. So no sense for this.
If cavs want, they could easily get no4 pick (exum or smart) and a young asset in exchange with irving ( anyone from Orlando, Harkless comes to my mind )
Actually this will result: Exum Waiters Harkless Bennett Embiid
in Orlando side: Irving Oladipo Harris Tristan Thompson Vucevic
what a nice trade ^^

BA30ParticipantI don’t think anyone on the planet wants Mo Harkless. Not only that but the number 4 pick and harkless isn’t enough for Irving. Although I saw Irving take a step back this year, he is still a top 7 PG in the NBA and an All-Star by all standards. Oladipo and draft picks for Irving is closer, but still probably not enough. Orlando certainly wouldn’t get Thompson and Irving for Harkless and the number 4 pick. That is highway robbery.

tidhoParticipant1) we don’t really know who the Cavaliers are interested in.
2) we don’t know what, if anything, is going on with Kyrie.
IF they decide to move Kyrie then obviously they’ll be getting something back that may change what they do at #1. I don’t see any reason to believe that would deter them from taking one of the top three guys though as both C and SF are both needs. It certainly would be foolish to pass on talent just to draft another PG, its not like the other four positions are set.

BallinmvpParticipantFor what it’s worth your right we don’t know what the Cavs will do or any other team for that matter but I am assuming that they won’t trade Irving before or during the draft. So if they were to trade Irving it would be during the season or next offseason, I don’t think they would draft a pg high in this draft just to sit him on the bench and wait and see if they are going to trade kyrie. If they were going to draft a pg high in this draft then they would be definitive be trading kyrie this offseason which I highly doubt. Wiggins and Parker may still go 2 and 3( or vice versa) but I highly doubt it would because the Cavs picked a pg and much more likely they took embiid.

WITNESS2014ParticipantThey could get a kings ransom for Kyrie. It’s a tough choice on who to draft because the sf, pf, and c spots arent set for the future. I Think Embid could help Kyrie and Dion out with a pick and pop game. Then again a player like wiggins would be nice to solidify the wing spot for years to come. Im pulling for Bennett to make drastic improvements this offseason.
Irving- Waiters- Wiggins- Thompson- Hawes
OR
Irving- Waiters-FA?- Bennett- Embid
They have the trade assets and cap space to change this roster so its hard to know what to expect.
