If I was Chris Grant, I would trade the 4th & 24th pick, to Portland, for the Blazer’s6& 11th picks….At 6, the Cavs should draft Jeremy Lamb, who I feel is a mix between Reggie Miller & Eddie Jones. At 11, the Cavs should “reach”, and draft Quincy Miller, who I feel can be the steal of this draft…Quincy to me is a more firey and more driven version of Darius Miles, in his prime…With Kyrie at the point, Lamb at shooting guard, Quincy Miller at small foward, Thompson at power forward, and Varejo at center, the Cavs have a bright future

Why pay more for Lamb on the rookie scale, when he’ll still be available at 6? Quincy Miller will be gone way before pick 24, gur

I think Lamb fits best with the Wiz or the Cavs.  Lamb moves without the ball, shoots a mid range game and could in two years become the best defensive SG in the league because of his 7 foot 5 wingspan.

^ No he won’t.  Quincey Miller is not a lottery pick, nor just outside the lottery.  He might even slip into the early 2nd round.  His high school hype doesn’t carry as much weight as it used to, he’s a tall guy with a nice jumper, but he’s going to get man handled playing the 3 in the NBA, and he isn’t going to be able to guard the 3 very well at the next level.  24 is okay for him, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he went lower.

he’s not going in the lotto…

mavs/celtics- need a player ready to play, as opposed to a project.

    minnesota- doesnt need a sf

nuggets- will try to go for a big guy or a pg.

w/ that said, the only possible destination up to the 24th pick are orlando or atlanta… he’s most likely going to be there at 24

a huge reason why i think he wont slip to the second is GSW getting the last pick on the first, i dont see them skipping on quincy

I currently have Q Miller slipping to like 39. I may be wrong but that is where I have him. I would take the chance of him being there at 24. So far I have MKG in Cleveland and john Jenkins at 24 with the Cavs as well. I see nothing wrong with that combo playing with Kyrie either. The cavs have many options where they are picking. And if not MKG at 4 it could very well be Barnes and a guy like Jenkins or Lamb(have Lamb at 18 to Wolves).

I have them taking Barnes and Jenkins.. 2 shooters to go with Irving. Also, I hear the Jenkins can do. Spot time at the 1 so that is a bonus.

Jenkins doesn’t handle the ball good enough to play the point at the nba level, if they want a 2 that can they should target doron lamb

Quincy Miller has that Paul George like sleeper potential…He can take his time and develop under Bryon Scott’s tutelage, and off the bench for Alonzo Gee…In the NBA today, you need 6’8, 6’9, or even 6’10 small forwards, to go against the LeBron’s, Carmelo’s, Durant’s, Rudy Gay’s, Danny Granger’s, and etc of the league…Quincy is 6’9 & isn’t finished growing

     Little know fact:

don042488 is Quincy Miller’s doctor and has seen that his growth plates haven’t fused yet..

    I was shocked too..

Quincy Miller’s defensive potential is why he’s a sleeper?  Comon’ his height + his jumper is going to get him in the league first and foremost.

Quincy Miller is no defensive specialist.  I’d take a 6’7” strong elite athlete like Jeff Taylor to guard Lebron James over 6’9” 200lb gangly, above average athlete like Quincy Miller any day.

I feel ya on the potential thing and agree about going against the dominant 3s in the league but I think the point everyone is making is that Miller will likely be there at 24. If they really wanted him they could possibly trade with someone in the late teens. Maybe Houston with the 16 and Houston could target Melo or Ezeli there.

I could see Quincy Miller growing another inch or 2…Quincy could put up 14 to 17 points a game, 7 to 9 boards a game, 3 to 4 assists, close to 2 steals, and 2 blocks, when he matures and learn the game

Don, I guess we’re just on different pages.  Everytime I watched Baylor I was not wowed by Miller’s all around game.  I noticed a tall guy with good handles and a nice shot, but not a distributer, not a defender and the only times I saw him rebound or explode on offense were when Baylor was playing Missouri’s 3 guard lineup of 5’8”, 6’2” and 6’4”.

I see Miller’s talent, but when it comes to making the jump from a physical standpoint from college to the NBA…Miller is a guy who I have some major questions about, especially since the 3 has become a very big, athletic position.  I just don’t think he can hang at an elite level.  His shot will keep him in the league, but I think his lack of defense ( and he never seemed to really commit on that end) will keep him on the bench for stretches of NBA games.

I could see him becoming a good scorer to bring in off the bench but I agree with JoeWolf that Miller does not have a great all around game especially when it comes to reboounding and defense. I would have liked to see him before the injury but for some reason I don’t think that would have changed the fact that he only plays aggresively on one end of the court.

If  Andre Drummond falls out of the top 3, grab him with the fourht pick and If Terrence Jones falls, grab him at 24. Cavs need a Center and Drummond is actually a good fit for Cleveland. Also, they are rebuilding for the future. Terrence Jones reminds me of less athletic Josh Smith (Atlanta Hawks). Jones can play the 3, I personally feel  his game can make the transition to the 3 at the NBA level. Cleveland main objective is to get Andre Drummond in this draft. Plus their second round picks, some guys are gonna fall out of the first round.

I would’t be opposed to the trade from the Cavs perspective, (not sure if portland would do it) but i’d definitely go in a different direction with the picks. I would take Barnes at 6 and J.Lamb/T. Ross at 11.

This was a horrible trade idea, and Portland wouldn’t go for it anyway…

As far as Jeremy Lamb and Quincy Miller are concerned, I don’t think that is the duo that Cleveland wants to reach for with the 4th and 24th pick in the Draft.

I have the Cavaliers selecting Harrison Barnes with the 4th overall pick (Gilbert seems to be very high on him) and Dion Waiters with the 24th pick.  They can get a lot of value with the 4th pick, and as of right now I wouldn’t use it on Jeremy Lamb.  Sure, his potential is high, but if he can’t get interested in the game and interested in winning, then he has no business going in the Top 5.

Trading up to get Quincy Miller at 11 is an insane idea.  He is no where near lottery-material in the deep draft, and I honestly believe he has a better chance of dropping to the seond round than going in the Top 25.

In my final and honest opinion, I’d much rather just keep the 4th and 24th picks and use it on Harrison Barnes and Dion Waiters than trade for the 6th and 11th and take Jeremy Lamb and make the biggest reach of the draft by taking Quincy Miller at 11.  There’s just no way…
