I was excited for the freshman till i realized he’s about to be 17 in August. I don’t understand how this happens he’ll be 20 by his Senior year that’s ridiculous.

I guess he started school late, failed a grade in middle school, and his birthday is too late to be in the right grade (usually if you are born in August they won’t put you in the same grade as people born in September).

It’s pretty ironic and funny that I just watched his highlights on youtube, looked at the comments, and figured out that he’s already 16. I guess he might try to move up a grade or two to be in the right grade for his age.

Regardless of any of that, he’s still pretty amazing on the court. He’s a elite level athlete at his age and he shows a lot of body control. I don’t believe he’s the best freshman, if he stays in the 2019 class, I believe RJ Barrett (Canada/Montverde) or Kahlil Whitney (Chicago/I’m a little bias, but I enjoy his game). He’s (Stanley) is a really impressive player and might be the best blend of athletism and body control I seen in high school since Derrick Rose. With his dunks his head be by the rim, and while being in the air that high and that long he can bring tricks into it. He kind of remind me of Ronnie Fields (Kevin Garnett former teammate in high school in Chicago) when he was in high school, I didn’t actually see him play live (19), but he was really bouncy before he broke his neck that really ended his career.

It isn’t all about basketball.. kid might have some learning issues that have stopped him from  being in his age appropriate grade, and he sure as hell shouldn’t be rushing to move up multiple grades and missing out on school work just to be a more enticing prospect.

You have to have the credits to move up classes and graduate early. People assume you will have the right number of credits when they mention players moving up a class.

Californias cut off dates for school. I’m from Arizona but when I came out to LA for college there were many kids in my class that were a full year younger than me and other people from AZ and Seattle
