SwatLakeCityParticipantDon’t think so. The only piece other than Deng that Chicago has to offer is Noah, and he just got an extension. Don’t think he’ll be traded (Noah) for quite awhile. New Jersey and New York look like the frontrunners so far. Remember this is what Melo wants not what Denver wants. Since the Bulls are not willing to give up Noah, I don’t see it happening. Deng will definitely not be replacing Melo as he is OLDER than Melo. No way the Nuggets would try and replace Melo with an older guy.
Do you think a 3rd team will be involved in the deal with the Knicks, maybe Portland? New York could really use a starting 2. Fernandez would fill that role perfectly.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantThere are a few deals out there right now…The Knicks are trying to trade for Rudy Fernadez and Portland’s draft pick…They also think they have enough to Trade for Carmelo so that’s been the hold up…Everyone’s talking New York and Chicago…But there are 2 to 3 other teams with good offers and the Nuggets are being held up by Anthony’s wishlist…
Remember the Nuggets want an established player, young player, cap relief and Picks…
Bulls offer…Deng, James Johnson and Draft Picks in 2011 and 2012…
New York offer…Chandler, Anthony Randolph, Eddie Curry and a possible 1st rounder from Portland…
Now the Blazers deal is very tempting…
Portland offers…Oden, Rudy Fernandez, Luke Babbit and 2 first Rounders in 2011( Portland and NO ) Would Melo sign though…New orleans giving the Blazers another 1st rounder may net them Carmelo Anthony…
Philadelphia offers…Iguadola, Thad Young, Jason Kapono and 2012 Draft Picks…Again would he sign there…
L.A Clippers offer…Kaman, Randy Foye, Aminu and 2011 0r 2012 Draft Picks…
Watch out for the Blazers and Knicks to trade euro’s very soon…Gallinari for Fernandez and the Blazers 1st round Pick in 2011…good move talent wise for both team plus the pick may net the Knicks Carmelo…The Blazers or Knicks may swap Gallo for Randolph…either way the Blazers add a long SF and the Knicks get the shooter they covet and draft pick they need…
If they get that deal done first…The Knicks will be in position to Make the Deal with Nuggets…
Chandler, Randolph, Curry’s Expiring Contract and 1st round pick (via Portland) for Carmelo Anthony…

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantIf the Nuggets are gonna rebuild…why would they take back Loul Deng who’s getting paid #2 money for #3 production?

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantThat’s the kicker for me, if your Denver: Wouldn’t you want cap space to rebuild. No offense, I’d stay from Deng’s contract.
New York and Washington are two teams I’d consider.

SwatLakeCityParticipantThat philly looks the most tempting to me. Even more so than Portland. Oden is more talented than Iggy but he is injury prone, and no team wants their star to be injury prone. That would be a disaster. (The only reason why it is not for Portland is because they have Brandon Roy) Iggy plays practically every game of the year, while Oden has played about a full season’s worth in about 3 seasons. Iggy may be smaller than Melo, but it certainly is the most tempting other than of course the Nets deal but that seems even further apart than any other deal is.
I think Melo would resign in Philly, he has a good coach in Doug Collins, a team that is very athletic, that would certainly compete for the playoffs too. (Of course any team would compete with Melo on their team) One question I have though is why doesn’t Philly include Brand instead of Young? His contract is humoungous, Brand is better than Young, and they can start Speights and start developing him even more than they could before. I think Denver would much rather have Brand than Martin. (I believe Brand is even younger than Martin too so that is even better)
Didn’t not know that Deng was younger than Melo. Mish. Learn something new everyday. I like this new Scarecrow. Instead of totally ripping everyone to shreds with his comments, he actually provides insightful comments that cause others to think and maybe reconsider. (The other ones did that too but at the expense of totally ripping the person to shreds)
