Cusemen727ParticipantIve said it before and ill say it again, Melo is THE most clutch player in the league, plain and simple. call me bias but the proof is in the pudding.

gregoden08ParticipantAny stats to back that up?

Michael.S.Participantprettu clutch, but he has had a TON of talent and has NEVER lead them anywhere far…so I don’t think he is the most clutch…considering everything..

M-DYMESParticipantKOBE NO CONTEST
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/26/2010 - 7:26pm #270801
Cusemen727Participantsince entering the league he has the highest FG% on game winners in the league at an even 50%(12-24), and that the 2nd most in the league behind only Kobe, but Kobe has had like 14 more tries, they just showed the stat on sportscenter tonight, and MIKENIKE how can you say hes had a TON of talent around him, up until they got chauncey he had never had a legit all-star, I mean he had AI for awhile but that turned out to be a disaster, he carried the dismal Nuggets to the playoffs from day 1(I think hes missed out on the playoffs once), in the west mind you. And im not taking anything away from kobe, hes a great player and he is very clutch, but if i gotta take one guy to take the last shot im taking melo every time.

Michael.S.Participanthe has had A.I. in his later prime….Billups at his best, Martin a former all star, Smith a 6th man of the year candidate…Nene, a top 8 center…Camby, dpoy…playoffs only is not enough with that kind of talent
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/26/2010 - 7:46pm #270811
Cusemen727ParticipantYes, AI was still somewhat in his prime, but the whole experiment was a disaster, there wasnt enough shots to go around,Martin hasnt been the same since his microfracture surgery in 05 which was a year after he got there, smith is a good player, but by no means is he an all star, he takes to many erratic shots, and yes Camby was a very good defender, but they became a better deffensive TEAM after he left, nene has missed something like 200+ games in his career, and In his and Billups first full year together they made it to the western conference finals, and most likely there going to this year. And as far as getting to the playoffs not being enough, look at Kobe(who i assume you would take over Melo)after shaq and before they got pau, they were a decent team at best, did that make kobe any less of a clutch player, no.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/26/2010 - 7:50pm #270814
Michael.S.Participantbut thats because kobe already proved he could win when he had shaq….Clutch isn;t only having last second game winners but also performing great when it matters in the playoffs….that said, I still think melo is clutch but not the clutchest

midwestbbscoutParticipantis the most likely to be the next person to drop 80 on someone…..one night when he has everything goin…..deadliest scorer in the league…..not even when everything goin….just night in and night out…..Charles Barkley’s thoughts on Melo are the same as mine….

sheltwon3ParticipantMelo is probably the guy i would want with the ball in the last few seconds. You can go with Kobe also but Melo since college and maybe high school tends to make those shots. Kobe misses sometimes.

Cusemen727ParticipantKobe was always the 2nd option on those lakers team, If you give Carmelo the greatest center of this generation and arguably ever, i dont think its going out on a limb by saying Melo would have a few rings. And as far as hitting them when it matters most in the playoffs, I dont know the exact amount for Melo but i kno he had 3 last year in the playoffs alone

Michael.S.ParticipantSecond option for the first 43 minutes…1st in the last 5
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/26/2010 - 8:07pm #270833
Cusemen727ParticipantKobe is the best player on the planet, and theres no denying he makes big shots, all im saying is if me personally has to take one player to take the last shot, its Melo.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/26/2010 - 8:13pm #270840
Michael.S.Participantok, melo would be a pretty good option anyhows….but, Lebron is the best player on the planet

M-DYMESParticipantClutch goes both ways too. I love Melo but his D is lacking compared to Kobe. Kobe (pre-Artest) played lockdown D on the opponents best scorer, that is yet to be said for Melo.

QUINCEYi like barkley but sometimes he has no clue what hes talking about. not saying he doesnt in this case but hes not someone id be proud to say ” barkley agrees with me”..lol…as far as clutch ill take kobe over melo anyday of the week
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 7:58am #270961
nba00Participantkobe is still the best clutch everybody knows he will take the shot but still makes it melo got billups and smith that makes for the opposing team to give help on his defender those two are better than any other shooters that the lakers have. if you believe that jordan is the clutch ever in the nba, go watch and compare jordan and kobe’s jumpshots they are using those moves a lot. melo is great without that good shooters in his team it will be harder to for him to make those clutch shots.

QUINCEYkone has fisher who is known to hit clutch shots and gasol down low..thats enough when you have kobe
0 - Posted on: Sat, 03/27/2010 - 9:02am #270988
Charlie SheenParticipantHe is the most clutch player. He will most likely hit the shot every time he did it to Lebron early this year hit 1 last night yea Kobe hit a few this year but as of right now Melo is the clutchest………….you know what just wait ’til the playoffs

JNixonParticipantGive me Kobe to take ANY tough or clutch shot. No doubt about it.
