Cameron Wells is The Citadel’s all time leading scorer (2055pts) and all time assist leader! The Citadel’s first 2000 point scorer! He has it all and I mean it all! Better than brandon knight, kyrie irving( played what 9 games and he is a lottery pic, yeah right), and corey fisher. Brandon knight should not go to the league because of who his coach, coached years prior. Kyrie Irving has not played enough to be drafted as a freshman. Both of those guys need to develop and cant hold a candle to Cameron. Nolan Smith should go before Kyrie Irving!  I would even take Cameron over even Nolan Smith. Cameron Wells has the size, strength, quickness, ball handling, passing, defense, and rebounding nba scouts are looking for. A pg listed at 6,1 but looks taller and plays bigger and a solid 205 lbs he is almost immpossible to guard. Everyones game plan the past couple of years is to double team him at half court!!! Im so tired of all the guys getting drafted just because they go to big name schools!  About 35 to 40 percent of all the mock drafts I have seen are full of d-leaguers! Look for Cameron Wells to be drafted in the first round and make a nice splash in the nba! He is my Sleeper in this years draft! I may be wrong, but I doubt it!!!!!!!!!!

Cameron played in the backcourt with Jai Lucas at Bellaire high school. The same school as John Lucas Jr. and Okafor who is in the nba.  Jai Lucas went to college at  florida and now at texas.  If Cam went to either school or had a father in the Hall of Fame he would be a lottery pick!

You left out the fact that he shoots about 43% for his career at Citadel. He’s an undersized chucker and can’t shoot a 3 to save his life.

He led his team to 10-22.. If he were special, he would have dominated that pathetic conference where he went 6-12.

I can find you hundreds of undersized two guards that shoot the ball every chance they get and can’t win games.

If Cam would have gone to Texas or Florida, he would have gotten NO playing time. Jai Lucas is a better talent and he could only find 11 minutes a game with Texas.

If anything, Jai Lucas MADE Cameron Wells and got him a scholarship, he should be thankful.

Cmon man, you should know better.

Cameron Wells has been one of the best guards for the past 4 years. He goes to Citadel a school that doesn’t get a lot of recognition.  His stats are solid as it can be and it really doesn’t do him justice to how good of a ball player he really is. Tongue out like 23 this is for you.

He shot 43% because he was doubled and tripled team every game. When Cameron wells is open he is deadly. If you watched Citadel play this year, he never had any open looks. He was required to bring the ball up, score and defend the other teams best player. That’s a lot to do each and every week in a underrated Southern conference.

Undersized chucker? What kind of statement is that? Someone who don’t know the game obviously. It’s hard shooting contested threes late in the shot clock. A Mr. Cameron well is an all round ball player.

Did you Citadel team this year? They had nobody to create there own shot. And by the way a first year head coach. What do you expect? That’s frustrating not being able to play with anybody athletic or someone else that is capable of scoring.

The southern Conference is tough and have some very good teams. Charleston, Wofford and Davidson.

Cameron wells is one of the top pgs in college basketball. All the top college guards like Brandon knight, kemba walker, Kalin Lucas, they don’t have anything on Cameron wells. Long arms, explosive, can handle the rock and a deadly mid range and post up game.

If he had the same athlete and system these guys were in he would be more on the national level. If he would have gone to Texas & Florida he would have been playing. Sitting on the bench wouldn’t have been a option. He’s a top level talent. He could have played in the Big East,Big 12, ACC, Big Ten or the Pac 10.

His talent level is off the chart.

Tongue out like 23 you don’t know what your talking about. Jai Lucas didn’t get him a scholarship. Mr. Wells earned this himself with his hard work and dedication.

      Cmon On Man!!!

Jai Lucas is nothing without Cam and it is showing!  Cam made Jai ask anyone who knows. I know scouts arent watching Jai. I know scouts are watching and drooling behind Cam. Jai and his brother cant dribble at all with thier left hand! As for shooting, Cam lead his district in high school with three point shooting, not Jai. Its the same line isn’t it? He just doesnt like shooting them.  Why shoot threes when he can get anywhere on the court at will? That would be bailing out the defense! As far as dominating, he does dominate. His numbers are impressive considering who he play with. The fact that you know who he is lets me know you recognize talent. All of the these other guys are playing with All-Americans and Cam is playing with guys who shouldn’t be playing Division 1 ball. The reason for the record is simple, a new coach and offense. Nolan Smith and Kyrie Irving suck compared to Cameron Wells! They wont hold up in the nba! They can’t handle the rock like Cam and the only thing they got going for them is they go to Duke. Lets just draft everyone on the Duke squad. (yea right) Nolan Smith is just another chris duhon and kyrie irving cant even stay healthy for 1 year of college ball and he’s a lottery pick.(yeah right, thats wishing). The only reason Cam went to The Citadel is because of what happened to his brother(Ronald Wells), Who was getting recruited by Syracuse but waited for Texas too long and ended up at HBU. While Jai Lucas couldn’t cut it at Florida and then gets a hand me down to Texas. Cam took the first offer, and yes it was a mistake but dont think he wasn’t recruited by the ACC. Cameron is not undersized, he is listed at 6,1 but if you see him he looks taller and has a wingspan of a 6,6! He plays bigger than he is! Cameron Wells is Underrated!!  Just Google "The Underrated" or Wells-Goudelock then post a comment!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just searched for Cameron Wells in this site to see if I can put him in the waiting pool of my mock draft. I can’t find him. No such player. He must not be on this sites radar for upcoming players. That tells you right there, that Wells is not what you think he is. If he was that good he would be leading Citadel to wins and they would have beaten Wofford for the Southern title. I don’t Citadel so I am not quite sure how long they lasted in the Southern tourney but I’m sure it wasn’t long. If Cameron Wells really is what you say he is then he would be destroying this sorry conferance, would have helped Citadel win the Southern title, and you would consequently be seeing Citadel in the tourney. You don’t, that didn’t happen nor ever could happen. And that’s why you don’t see him in mock drafts, or the second round, let alone the first round. NBA teams want winners, not players who can score but still the team loses in the end. That’s what mock drafts are full of "winners" not great scorers on losing teams. "Winners" have great scorers too, but the difference between these scorers and the other scorers (Like Wells) is that these scorers actually know what it takes to win and do it. If Cameron Wells really is a winner then he would do what it takes to win games for Citadel. He doesn’t, so Citadell loses and consequently Cameron Wells won’t see a day in the NBA cuz he’s not a winner but a great scorer on an always losing team.

What kind of snake sh!t is that? You come on a site hyping yourself up then completly blast the guy who put you in the position youre in? Know yourself and accept the fact that Jai Lucas created a nice enough career path for you to play internatonal ball.

Lol  IT SAYS WHEN YOU JOINED THE SITE BTW. Just because you create a new accoutn and display a second person with a wrong opinion wont change anyones mind. Have some respect for your current and former teammates and give it a rest, its odd how many people come in this site hpe themselves up and think it will increase their stock. they should be more like Matt Bonner and just leave it all on the floor, with great dedication and passion. That Matt Bonner is somethin else.

Actually my name is Keith Jenkins and i grew up with the Wells family. I know basketball! I am an AAU coach! As far as the other comment, it was made by sumone in his family! Cam doesn’t even know i opened this forum yet, but i promise you when he does it will be more motivation! I am not trying to change your opinion, or your talent evaluation! Matt Bonner is an oversized steve kerr and thats fine. Cam could have used sum guys like that to keep the double and triple teams off him! Who doubles and triple teams a point guard? Teams are terrified he will rip them a new one!  I know for a fact nba scouts are drooling over Cameron Wells!

It’s a team game and his team sucks! He cant make guys that should be playing at the ymca, all-americans! Lebron couldn’t win with those guys!!!!!!!  Cam is a great scorer, you said it! He is one of many that are under the radar and will get drafted! The top 100 on this site and many others are not made from nba GM’s!!!!!!!!           Google        Wells-Goudelock.       Goudelock isn’t on the list either and he is 5th in the nation in scoring! I would take Cam over Goudelock simply because all of Cam’s shots are contested and Goudelock’s team is better. If  Cam shoots and misses no one gets the rebound. He leads his team in rebounding, scoring, assists, steals. How does a point guard lead his team in rebounding? He is also their best low post player! Any point guard that leads his team in rebounding, steals, assists, and scoring   that’s impressive. That’s what the nba is looking for, point guards that can do it all!!!!!!!!!!!!           Like i said before   Google   Wells-Goudelock    then post a comment. Do your own scouting, don’t just look at the top 100 on any site that is full of d-leaguers!!!!

WHAT PG’S ARE COMING OUT THIS YEAR? IF YOUR A NBA TEAM YOUR GOING TO DRAFT NOLAN SMITH? ANOTHER CHRIS DUHON IN THE MAKING. NO THANKS. BRANDON KNIGHT HASNT DONE ANYTHING ALL YEAR!! YOU GOT THESE GUYS GOING NUMBER ONE? THATS A JOKE.

CAMERON WELLS IS A FIRST ROUND POSSIBILITY. HE IS GOING TO SNEAK UP ON ALOT OF PEOPLE THIS YEAR.  HE AND KEMBA WALKER OR THE TWO GUARDS WITH THE MOST POTENIAL AND UPSIDE IN THIS YEAR DRAFT CLASS.

CAMERON WELLS IS BUILT, LONG, CAN HANDLE AND CAUSE ALOT OF PORBLEMS. ANY GM OR SCOUT NOT LOOKING AT CAMERON WELLS IS CRAZY AND INSANE.

THE SCHOOL HE WENT TO IS NOT KNOWN AS A BASKETBALL SCHOOL, IF HE HAD BETTER PLAYERS HIS ASSIST, REB AND POINT TOTAL WOULD BE HIGHER. IT’S HARD TO FIND PGS THAT LEAD THERE TEAM IN EVERY CATEGORY FOR ALMOST FOUR YEARS.

HE IS A WINNER THAT GIVES IT HIS ALL EACH AND EVERY NIGHT.

Why would someone draft this guy when they could draft someone in the second round like Etwaun Moore or Marshon Brooks who r putting up numbers in real conferences. Im not saying the Socon doesnt have a few good players like Amu Saaka, Noah Dahlman and Andrew Goudelock put those guys who i’ve heard of probably wont be drafted. I just checked his numbers and they arent even good. Shoots 24% from three and 43% from the field and only scores 17 in 35 minutes. Good Luck buddy you’ll need it

Glad you checked out his stats. Then you saw he leads his team in rebounding, points, steals, and asists. His stats are very impressive! He wuz freshman of the year over goudelock and the other players you mentioned. He has only gotten better each and every year! Thats funny, only seventeen a game on top of doing all the dirty work! You obviously have never seen him play. Google Wells-Goudelock

If he’s as good as you say he is he’ll play his way into the league through pre draft camps, summer league invites or the D-League.  I don’t know enough about his game to evaluate him, but I do know enough about the drafting process that he won’t even get picked up in the 2nd round, let alone above every guard except Kemba Walker…

Trust me he is that good!  He wont be in the d-league! lol. Kemba is no Allen Iverson. How many of these guards play the 2 and will have to play point in the nba? Its always the guys you never heard of becoming stars in the nba.  How many times are the guys everyone thinks will be stars end up role players or busts? Chris Duhon, Dequon Cook, Bryce Drew, J.J. Reddick, Jordan Farmar, Eddie House, Charlie Bell, Acie Law, Luther Head,  just to name some. The nba is all about isolation. If they cant create their own shot off the dribble without a pick, post up, have a nasty mid-range game or have unlimmited range then they arent stars!!!!!!!!!!  Joe Wolf I know you know b-ball, your an assistant for the Bucks and you played a lil in your day. There are soo many guards and even players that shouldn’t be in the nba. I wonder how nba scouts do there jobs by drafting guys who will need tweezers to get those splinters out from sitting on the pine. By the way Brandon Jennings already had his best game as  pro. He is a defensive liability almost every night unless he can outscore the other pg, but I like scott skiles way of coaching. Cameron Wells is a great defender and better than Brandon Jennings, just take a look personally!!!  Or you can just call John Lucas Sr. and ask him(lol).          Cam’s brother Ronald Wells Jr.(HBU, coach for St. Thomas high school in houston) , dad played collegiate ball(TSU)  cousin Hammie Ward (University of Miami, HarlemGlobetrotters). No europe for Cam or d-league!

Wow. Pathetic. I know another guy that sounds very familiar to this cat. His name is Lester Hudson. A 6ft1 "pg" who plays more like a 2 and can’t win at The Citadel? Yeah, he’s as good Irving,Fredtte,Knight etc. Give me a break.

Should have known you were an AAU coach. All about scoring the ball. AAU has somewhat become the death of this sport we all love so much. The fundametals/intangibles are being cast aside for athleticism and Isolation play living off of touch fouls.

Thanks for your opinion, but when wuz the last time you went to an AAU game or tournment? Most of the very good players in thenba and college have played AAU ball. It is a way to keep young kids off the street and give them another chance to be seen by recruiters and college coaches that wouldnt have seen them play other wise. A chance to travel and play top notch talent in other states and cities. All of our players get better every year and most guys that play AAU do because they have no time for girls, video games etc.   Lebron James, Corey Brewer, Carmelo Anthony,  and plenty others played AUU ball. We (TOPGUNS in houston) teach Fundamentals, Defense, How to play without the ball, and Team ball. Yes, Basketball at every level the point is to score more than the other team. Cameron Played AAU, and I think that guy you mention Lester Hudson even played AAU. Lester Hudson is not 6,1 he is 6,3 or 6,4 and he got drafted and waived by the Wizards, then he got another chance and got Waived by the Celtics…. You have no clue what your saying but your intitled to an opinion. For the record Cameron Wells is an all around better player than those guys. Ofcourse there are guys that are better 3pt shooters than Cam but not scorers or all around players.  Jimmer is a beast, he has no concious out there but not a great rebounder, no post up game unlike Cameron.  Jimmer will be a lottery pick, he is putting up insane numbers. Irving is good but needs one more year to develop and hit the weight room. Kyrie Irving cant show anyone how good he is injured.  Brandon Knight are you kidding me. He is a good freshman with no jumpshot. He has a set shot and he needs 1 or 2 more years to develop. Even Kyle Singler knew what time it wuz. He could have come out last year but he stayed so he could play the 3 and show the nba that he can pay the position he will be playing in the nba. He struggled at first, but he has come around and shown alot. Duke is the Lakers of  college and drafting every player on their roster every year is a mistake that nba GM’s are tired of.

Brandon Knight is better than alot of point guards in college but not in the top ten point guards in the NCAA!!!!! Name a point guard in the nba with a set shot……………………………… Do you hoestly think he can help toronto, memphis, new york, utah, miami, houston, minnesota, san antonio or any team for that matter.  Whose spot will he take?   He just needs 1or 2 more years to develop and polish his game. If he comes out this year he will get drafted, but he will learn from the bench. He should stay and work on his game like Kyle Singler… John Calipari can pay him if he wants money……………….

Brandon Knight has elite quickness and size to go along with a beautiful looking jumpshot and flair for flash. While I remain behind the belief that he’s more of a combo guard super-sub in the NBA, the potential of what he could become is terrific.

I agree, Brandon Knight has NBA quickness and size… He has a set shot, he doesn’t jump then shoot. Don’t get me wrong he can shoot tha three.. I just think he needs 1 more year to polish his game and improve his IQ so he will be nba ready. That way he can start some where and not have to come off the bench…….

Never seen him play but chances are he will need to go the euro route or have a good camp because no scouts are talking about him as a draft pick( and if they are they haven’t told anyone). Its very hard to take a guy seriously as far as helping your team if they can’t lead a college team to at least close to .500 and that’s in a good league so in a lower league the player needs to at least be able to lead them to a above .500 record no matter how bad the team is because if the player is a NBA player he should be able to win games with 4 average guys in a low college league. Every year college is filled with guys who put up numbers like his but usually they win games as well or win more than 10 games. Another thing to look at is how he does against other very good players. How did he do?

Just checked out his stats and they aren’t very impressive for a guy in a lower league. I was thinking id see 25ppg or something high like that. The two games he has played against upper comp ( Colorado and Clemson) he had 11 and 12 points. The second game he shot 4-16.  With his team record and numbers he is not getting invited to the pre draft combine or camp so he needs to have a very good agent who knows people who can get him into team camps because there are guys on are the fourth best player on good teams who will get picked ahead of him as far as camp invites
