What happened to this guy? I mean he was a top 10 guy and he is playing for a Texas team that is .500 and won’t make the tourney. Its not like he is buried behind studs on an experienced team, Texas is very young. I thought he was going to be a beast. What am I missing or is he just not that good. Is this a case of his size just dominating high school?

He has got a lot of work to do. Bad conditioning, foul prone, bad shot selection, terrible free throw shooter, overall IQ on both ends.. Say what you want about Rick Barnes as a coach or whatever bc I know a lot of people dont care for him but I think that staff does a good job with their big men. He clearly just wasnt ready for the next step but I think in the next couple years he will turn into a good scorer, really good rebounder, and excellent shot blocker.

hell yeah the size was a main factor at the hight school level. he’s trash bro. Eye Test above all, screw “potential.”
If god shines a light upon this man, I see him at his BEST (doubts he gets there) a Kendrick Perkins minus the toughness. Not a hater, just a realist.

People that rated him top 10 were out to lunch is what happened. He was never that good.

Here’s a question, who would you take now and in the future between Texas’ Ridley and UCLA’s Tony Parker? These are both guys with size who struggled this year for similar reasons.

I’ll take Tony Parker. He is actually good,he just needs to stay out of restaurants.

Ridley has potential, more potential than the other fat bigs like Coleman and T.Parker IMO, but he needs to stop being fat first.
Keep in mind that Ridley was a late bloomer so his game is raw. Being raw and not being in great shape isn’t a recipe for freshman yr success.

Ridley > Coleman > Parker   Parker is closer to 6’8 1/2 and not athletic enough to overcome that lack of height at the center position. Ridley legit 6’10 and Siggy is right late to the game, but seems too lazy to develop into more than a 2nd rounder. Coleman got into better shape this year, also has a chance but needs to work on conditioning. His (early top 3) rating in HS was also overblown.
