Seems like a smart hire. I’m interested to see what he can do with this roster that, while talented, played a brand of basketball that seemed woefully outdated the past few seasons. What will he be able to do to help Giannis reach an even higher level of play and what type of offensive and defensive systems will he implement?

On a related note, how much do the bucks have to be kicking themselves right now for not taking embiid over Parker in 2014? I know it was a totally defensiveable pick at the time and Parker has been productive for them for the most part when healthy. But man, think about what could have been with embiid and Antetokounmpo both entering their primes at the same time.

We shall see if they resign Jabari Parker. He may want a max deal

I don’t think he’ll get anywhere close to the max. The bucks reportedly offered him a 3 yr 54 million extension before the season and he turned it down. I don’t think he’ll get close to that amount on the open market.

Parker wants a max contract, so do I.

And Jabari denied that report of the 3 year 54M offer. Said he wishes they offered him that. One sides lying

The Bucks hiring Budenholzer was a really strong hire. The Bucks get arguably the best coach on the market.

This MIL team on paper is more talented than that team he took to the eastern finals…now he can install that same free flowing system but have a true superstar to anchor it all, like TD and Kawhi did for the Spurs. All they need is shooters and a rim protector and they could be a top 3 team in the East next yr

He’ll give the Bucks an identity and get them playing smarter. I’d bet they’ll win a few more games next year even bringing back the exact same team.

Not sure there’s a lot of room for them to move up in the standings though. Toronto, Boston, Philly, Indy and Cleveland (if LeBron says) are all just better and deeper teams.

Hope we get a motivated Eric Bledsoe. It’s in his best interest, playing in his contract year to show some consistent effort and smarter basketball. Don’t see Budenholzer is going to give him too long a leash if he’s still on the team next year.

As for Jabari they have to sign him. He’s young enough where his best ball is ahead of him. See what Budenholzer can put together with these core guys. Don’t think the money will be that outrageous (hope a team like BKN doesn’t swoop in and offer over 20+M a year or something). If his shooting and defense don’t progress like they should you hope at such a young age and as talented he is he’s still tradeable.

I like the hire though and in Giannis interview today he seemed genuinely happy with it and he’s as genuine as they come. If Giannis is happy the Bucks should be happy.
