Brandon Knight
i feel like he could score more than he is..and honestly he mine as well just try to score more because lets face it hes playing for the pistons..its not like itl make or break the team anyway. Overall I think he still has time to become very good
I was watching the game as well. Knight heavily improved in facilitating the rock and he's gotten stronger since last year. he's also not scared of big moments and made some huge shots to keep the Pistons in the game for a while. He's going to develop into great player.
Never been a big fan of him, I think he's going to be a decent starter or great backup but not much more then that. He's a good shooter, solid distributor and he's strong, but I don't see anything about him that says All Star or anything like that.
I realize he's only 20 but I don't see a skill that he has that's going to keep him starting for a decade. He's not very efficient, still not really a true PG despite being a solid playmaker for others, and just isn't that great of a scorer overall. He's a high-level shooter who can be valuable on some teams, but he's just not an All Star caliber player and I don't think he ever will be. Honestly I think he'd be best off if he was used like Jason Terry. He's a really smart kid, and he will be around for a long time probably, but it shouldn't be as a starting PG for most good teams.
I think he could be really good playing the same role that Chalmers plays for Miami, but he doesn't have anyone on his team currently who can relieve his ball-handling duties. Stuckey was supposed to be that, but he's just not good enough.
I remember seeing this kid in HS and thinking that he didn't resemble a PG at all. He was a volume scorer with no conscience. He'd dominate the ball, pull up from near 30 feet, shoot contested shots from all over the floor, etc. In college he had a hard time running the offense in the halfcourt and still displayed his chucking and lower % shot taking tendencies. He's improved his distributing skills somewhat, but he still looks a player who's thinking too much, trying to be too fine with his decision making. He just doesn't strike me as a player who can seamlessly blend scoring with playmaking and running the offense.
I think Knight will be find if he works on his passing game and finds a balance in scoring. He has the tools. Billups came in as a shoot first point guard and Knight is further along in his passing game than Billups who wound being a pretty solid point guard as a passer and clutch shooter.
I think he will still be good. He hasn't really improved as much this year statistically as I had hoped.
He averaged 13-4 last season. This season he is averaging 11-6 on 39%.
I think if they keep Stuckey coming off the bench, Knight's stats and play should improve. I would expect him to be 15-6 be the end of the year.
Hes 20 years old, I think he looked awful at the start of the seanson but hes looking better. I think hes the point guard of the future for them with out a doubt. He just needs someone in the back court with him Stuckey is just not cutting it anymore. Plus with a big man thats gonna have to be double teamed almost every time he gets the ball in the post a good 3 point shooting pg is perfect. People in Detroit need to be patient for this team. They are a good consitent scorer away from being playoff contenders. Next year I bet we see a huge improvement from Knight and Drummond. If we see any more impovement from Monroe.... Hello Second Coming of Tim Duncan (thats a stretch but come we can dream)
That he has improved, but is still far off?? I dunno where he ends up, but I wouldn't write him off yet...plenty of decent guards took awhile to hit their stride. He has gotten better at dribbling, but he still takes bad angles on his drives. His court vision has improved, but he is not confident in his passing, so he hesitates and makes turnovers. He is not really strongenough to finish at the rim and he doesn't have a floater or off the dribble game. If he can keep improving, he will look better by the end of the season. Right now, he is pretty hard to watch..
I agree its hard to watch but look on the bright side, Drummond has improved an amazing amount since summer league. By All Star weekend if Knight isn't scoring around 15 to 20 id be surprised. But with the youth movement taking place in Detroit I didn't expect alot of wins. Winning for them is seeing Knight and Drummond continue to improve their game and Monroe just being the Moose down low
f rodney stuckey.... give knight the damn ball... and im not overreacting to just 3 games (for i was the one who said in a forum that i wasnt to impressed with him so far, but he has picked things up a bit).. we have nothing to play for this yr.... let knight run this offense.. yes he will make mistakes but let him lead us and monroe
Whats your guys' opinion on him? This yr he isn't looking to score much and his %'s aren't that good either... but watching this knicks game.. when he is looking to score.. its nice to watch...
hes listed at 6'3'' when hes actually probably 6'2''... but I bring this up because I was talking with a bud of mine who was saying that knight at his best is a bench player... which makes no sense... and yesterday I posted in a topic that I wasn't to impressed with knight so far... but I really want him to score more often
