JJ7ParticipantI believe when its all said and done Brandon Jennings will be the best point guard of this class.
Cmon the guy has all the strengths of the other point guards. He has the vision of rubio, the strength of Flynn, speed of mills and outrageous athleticism.
Alot of teams down the track will have made a mistake passing on this guy. Pheonix should trade up and replace nash with him.

Ch13f23Participantit could only happen if jennings could change his work ethic. Beating Rubio? maybe athleticism and/or scoring wise. but i ain’t sold that jennings could be better than rubio did you see how they play against in Europe. And with Rubio’s experience at the very young age it’s a huge plus. And he makes others players better with his talent and passing vision.

JJ7ParticipantI think your right about his work ethic but with some players the NBA can have a very positive effect on their work ethic and hopefully like Rubio, Jennings has learnt that buy having a tough time in Europe. I just think Jennings game could translate better. Unless Rubio turns into MVP Nash-like

sheltwon3ParticipantI believe Jennings can be better as well and he showed good work ethic overseas. I happen to go to a good team that did not give him minutes. Rubio will be good early on but Jenning will overtake him.

Ch13f23ParticipantI’m not totally sold that Rubio is better than Jennings or Vice Verse. all I’m saying is that Jennings is pretty well gifted compare to Rubio but with Rubio’s experience at a young age its a big plus. But what I’m saying is that Jennings could be the best PG in this year draft if he’s gonna work hard to be good or even be the best cause he has all the tools he needed that he has since birth.

Crossova21ParticipantHe needs to drop to the Pacers but the only way we pick him is if we can trade T.J. for a PF or if Jack doesn’t come back…Jennings AND Granger will make noise in the east.

Tim49461Participantno Work Ethic..?! read the espn article for you say his work ethic sucks

Meditated StatesParticipantA scout in europe said on this site here in one of the articles, how good he had become defensively. He said he was staying in front of every guard he played against and was a nightmare at pressuring the ball handler. Most people would not have said that about Brandon when he was in high school.

Meditated StatesParticipantJennings has great passing skills to go along with all those athletic attributes. That seems to get overlooked.

knicksfreakParticipantHe didnt jump off the stat sheet in Europe but he has definitely improved over there. It is very difficult to get by him with his quickness and hard to stay in front of him defensively. His shooting range is his biggest weakness. I would like to see his measurements before saying he’s too small. I think/hope he will be very successful. His mentality could be the only thing that could hold him back.

butidonthavemoneyTake everything I say with a grain of salt because I’ve only seen Jennings play 3 times, and 1 of those games was an all-star game.
I wouldn’t say he is a better passer than Rubio. Rubio has better size. He doesn’t have Maynor’s leadership. He can’t stroke it like Teague.
Could he beat Collison, Lawson and Mills in a foot race? What do you guys think?

birdman1113Participanthes good and has a lot of talent but Flynn Curry and Rubio are all safer picks. when its all said and done i think Flynn and Jennings will both avarege somewhere around 15-20 points a game. but the edge will to Flynn who will have more assists and less turnovers.

Mr. BasketballParticipanthe has a good work ethic first of all. no his defense is not shane battier D or perhaps not even top 5 pg defense in this class, however, it okay and will only improve as he works to improve it. O and what strength??? he gets pushed liked thabeet does only its on the perimeter. thats his main weakness right now. look, he won’t be better than rubio because his game is all athleticism-based. he needs to improve on his fundamentals. playing under a guy like ben howland or coach k would have improved his fundamentals and D. I think rubio’s will be the best from the class of pgs in 09.

knicksfreakParticipantYou can be second best in all categories and still be #1. Thats just a saying. I’m not saying he’s clearly second best in everything. I think he could beat any of those guys in a foot race, compete with Flynn in hops, be a good passer, mature into a leader, and work on his jumper. Thats why he’s the wildcard. He will either be the best of this draft or a complete bust. No middle ground.

DirtyDezParticipantword here in phx is that Memphis likes Amare to go along w/ Mayo, Gay and Conley… #2 and Warrick to phx
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/11/2009 - 7:43pm #161722
knicksfreakParticipantSounds like fiction to me. I doubt memphis wants to give #2 up to rent Amare for a season. Plus Amare makes to much money for that deal.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/11/2009 - 7:44pm #161724
butidonthavemoneyMemphis has enough cap room to get Amare.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/11/2009 - 7:51pm #161734
knicksfreakParticipantThat trade puts them over the cap. So it wouldnt work. No way Amare re-signs with them in 2010.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/11/2009 - 7:55pm #161740
DirtyDezParticipantdepends on rubio’s buyout but your giving up 16 mil by trading Amare, then in 2010 Nash and Shaq free up 44 mil assuming they don’t re-sign… that’d be a mean lineup in Memphis don’t count them out on renting Amare for only a year
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/11/2009 - 8:09pm #161758
knicksfreakParticipantThe buyout doesnt go under the cap. its $500,000 to the team and around 6 mil to come out of Rubio’s pocket.

auberParticipantYou make some great points JJ, but I just can’t stand looking at pictures of JJ Reddick
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/11/2009 - 8:29pm #161782
JJ7ParticipantI like your honesty and thanks for the compliment. But cmon at least its not Adam Morrison I cant believe people thought he was going to be the next larry bird but it was a good ploy because it outsmarted MJ especially the STACHE
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/11/2009 - 8:44pm #161795
knicksfreakParticipantMorrison cracks me up. He looked like Billy Crudup in Almost Famous.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/11/2009 - 9:11pm #161814
piratejpParticipantOnly if there is a version of Almost Famous were it’s a story about a Dungeons & Dragons club, or maybe a down on their luck fraternity – certainly not the Almost Famous about a rock band. I just don’t think of Adam Morrison when I think of women screaming & throwing their bras on stage. Oh, and thanks for ruining Kate Hudson for me forever (although honestly, Chris Robinson did that years ago).
