JoeWolf1I agree churchboy, I think he’s going to the Heat, but although he addresses one of their main weaknesses and helps their cause, I don’t think he puts them on the level of LA.

ghettosermonParticipantHawks would make sense. Obviously not as a starter but a rotational guy when they play teams like the Magic and Lakers.

JoeWolf1I think he’d make a big impact for the Hawks, Horford would actually get to play about 20-25 mpg if PF with Dampier on the roster.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantIf nobody gives him more than the minimum, he should go to the Heat. Charlotte could still sign him, and with Miles and Collins being non-guaranteed they could give him around $4 million and stay under the tax. New Orleans would be a bit of a homecoming, and they could definitely use another center. Other than those two, who is going to give more than the minimum at this point? And even if there is someone in that group, is there a chance to win a title like in Miami?

doubledribblerParticipantIf he goes to Miami, he would go there for the Veteran minimum which for him is probably a million and some change. That’s a nice chunk of change for most people. Realistically though, the dude just lost maybe 10 or 11 million dollars, so I think if anyone is able to give him like 3 or 4 million they have a good shot at him. There are a few teams that could really use him.
On the other topic I don’t see why people act like Dampier is going to throw a team over the top. If Miami has to lean on Dampier to push them to title contenders then they are in serious trouble. I think Dampier has played solid, but has been killed for his contract, but he’s nothing dominant. Not saying he has to be, but he does have some major weaknesses and he can be super inconsistent and mistake prone at times. With that said, for the minimum he’s a steal if you can get that deal.

PlatypusParticipantCleveland… he would be the only true center on the team
