    Portland

Jerryd Bayless can try all he wants, he isnt a point guard right now. Sure he can jog the ball up court, but he isnt a real leader and he is only good for starting the offense up. He cannot create for others consistently or very effectively. You could tell he wanted just create his own shot, but more than likely his coaches told him to be a PG. He isnt a PG though. Portland should put him on the trade black, he has a role in the NBA but hes an offensive sparkplug kinda guy. The Blazers should trade him for a true PG like a Raymond Felton IMO.

Dante Cunningham is continuing to show he’s better than I thought. His midrange jumper from about 18 ft is close to automatic, especially when uncontested. He is a pick-and-pop option and he looks like an NBA player to me Probably D-league at 1st. He is stronger than he looks too, and he didnt get posted without a fight. He isnt anything special as a rebounder or post defender though, even though he is a scrappy player.

Pooh Jeter is good. He has good handle and he will lull you to sleep and then explode for a jumper in your face, Will Conroy got the eye surgery a couple times. He is just too small though. He has to use the pick and roll to get angles, and if hedged well he can be smothered by the big man and forced into a bad pass. He is a Euro League guy, but an NBA team could take him (ala Will Bynum).

Jeff Pendergraph is a very strong guy. He was visably frustrating Joey Dorsey with his aggressive and relentless play. He fights in the post and is a good flopper who draws offensive fouls. He is robotic in his moves though, and it slows him offensively. He would be better if he was more fluid. He is a prototypical low post bench player.

    Rockets:

Chase Budinger is mostly a jump shooter. Looked good moving without the ball. Needs to tighten up his handle, and look to do more than score offensively. He looks slow laterally on defense. He looks like a guy you give a chance too improve for a year and then let him make or break himself later.

James White is a good slasher. If he didnt draw a foul he converted his attempts by the rim with a layin or dunk. He also made his 3 ball. I dont know what his role would be in the NBA, seems like a D-Leaguer.

Joey Dorsey is a poors man Ben Wallace in his Detroit days. He is a banger, but he has little offensive talent other than using his strength to kind of throw up shots. He is a monster on the glass, and he will block your shot if you go up soft. He should make their roster, but he will mostly be a D-Leaguer.

Jermaine Taylor isnt anything special. He definitely isnt going to be an adequate replacement for Von Wafer if thats what they were thinking. But look on the bright side, you got him in the 2nd round.

If the Blazers got Raymond Felton that would be a great move. Felton is better than Bayless not to mention he is a true PG.

I didn’t watch this game but I looked at the box score. Once again Budinger shot really well but he only had like 1reb & 1ast.
I thought Jermaine Taylor would put up much better stats in summer league than what he has done so far.

bayless can become a point gaurd he set up his team mates great the other game he had 7 assit i think

but with pooh jeter getting the ball after bayless brings it up court how can he prove him self and hes more of a scoring gaurd

but look at billups in arenas they both could lite it up like bayless there wernt natrual play makers out of college but found the pg in them later down the road as we see bayless gets to the line at will and when it comes to rackin up assit who does he really have to pass to… houston put a small foward on bayless…there best defender making it harder to excute plays to sub par players… we all know bayless can drop 30 any givin nite…but he wants to prove he can run pg because he showed he can score and mcmillian didnt care bout that so the only way bayless gets major pt if he shows he can run the show behind blake this season…..

ps.. nate has a great player maybe if he would have used bayless to score and draw fouls to his advantage they would have made it to the second round in the playoffs instead of knocking him for lacking pg skills that a young player will build over time

Yea Budinger is a spot up shooter at the NBA level until his handle gets to where its good enough to let him slash and take advantage of his leaping skills Right now he loses control of the ball after 1 or 2 dribbles. He plays kinda stiff. And to stevedot, I think Bayless could develop into a poor mans Arenas if he gets a fresh start with another squad. He is talented, you can tell by his moves and how effortless he makes things look. He just is an undersized 2 guard. He can be a good player, no doubt about it, but he will never get minutes in Portland with Fernandez and Roy playing his position.

That would do, but I would rather Felton over Hinrich personally. Those are 2 great options though.

Wow this is an awesome fit…..

In my eyes he is a pass first PG would do great there and Cunningham….he is good.

Lawson also probably wouldnt cost too too much and I heard somewhere(cant remeber where i think ESPN) but his meeting with the B-Cats didnt go so hot
