OldSkoolBasketballParticipantIn his last 5 games he is averaging 27 points, 13.8 rebounds, and a block. Also leads the league in dunks along with Amare Stoudemire. It scares me though everytime he jumps since he jumps wildly.

JJeff6ParticipantHes a beast. Tremendous athletic specimen. Obviously the best dunker in the game. Gets rebounds with ease. Amazing down low. If he develops a reliable mid range shot ur looking at 25-28 ppg and his rebounding will go up. So yes, he is a scary player. Too bad his team isnt all that scary.

IndianaBasketballParticipantAs I’ve been saying all week, Blake Griffin just needs a little more help. Baron Davis wasn’t amazing, but his impact was felt. Griffin got more easy baskets this game than he’s gotten all season.
There are people on this site who try to knock him because he’s on a bad team, but the kid is amazing. And he’s not just an athlete… He actually knows how to play basketball.

omphalosParticipantAlso, he knows how to use his athleticism when required too. Clippers have beaten the Spurs and the Hornets already this season. That’s pretty darn impressive. Once the team can get some consistency and maybe Kyrie Irving (haha) they’ll be playoff bound, provided Blake stays healthy.

fastdanParticipantHe’s amazing to watch, but it looks like this is another write off year by the Clips. Hopefully they get the chance (and actually take it) to draft Irving. Griffen with a skilled, motivated point guard who can grow with him could be the most exciting duo since Malone/Stockton.

HitsterParticipantThe Clippers have gone 3-2 in their last five games after being 1-13 previously so Griffin’s massive performances have brought results which is always key to a developing teams. Also Baron Davis was back on the bench which may help the team longer term this season.

cabbycabParticipantClips should be the hottest ticket in the L because this guy is a freak show. Barring any injuries, this guy should be good for 25/12/4 for a long time. I’m talking Shaq numbers people!! Once his jumpshot and freethrows improve….I dont know how you can guard him. Truly unlike anything else we’ve had in the league. He covers sooo much ground when he jumps, one foot in the paint and its a dunk. I agree that a young Amare is the closest comparison. But on paper, Griffin is actually taller and yet he runs like guard. Legs like tree trunks……. this guy is an animal.
All the LA guard’s assist numbers should go up. BDiddy straight off of injured list came in and had 3 dimes in first 5 minutes to BG alone! FYI, Eric Gordon is averaging 5 assist per.
As far as athleticism, I can only place young Vince Carter on the same level. And then everyone else.

IndianaBasketballParticipantGriffin is a competitve person and wants to be that player to turn around LAC’s franchise. Not too many players get the opportunity to mold a franchise. He was well aware of LAC’s history when they won the first pick… He could’ve forced a trade or told them not to pick him, but he accepted the challenge. I think he’s excited about this opportunity.
I don’t know if he can, considering Donald Sterling is the owner and LAC has an atrocious history, but he’s a special player. He’s going to sell out the arena and fans are going to start coming out to support this team. He’s the most exciting player in all of California… Maybe in all of the NBA.
They have solid young pieces with more on the way and the future looks bright. I don’t see why he can’t turn it around. And the new GM Neil Olshey seems to be a smart guy.

HitsterParticipantDon’t forget that Griffin wasn’t seen as a contender for top pick in 2008 and only really emerged in his NCAA sopohomore season, he would prrobably have gone after K-Love in the 2008 draft so somebody in the 6-10 range then might have got a hell of a player.

JoeWolf1The Clips will hit their stride, they won’t be good, but they won’t have the worst record in the league. I’d expect about 30 wins for them, despite their terrible start.
They’re playing without Chris Kaman right now too, Bledsoe showed he was more NBA ready than I thought, but having a vet like Baron to split minutes will help him too. The Clips were running with a PF and C that were about the same caliber of Miami’s. Having Kaman and Baron back will make them respectable again.

HitsterParticipantTheir starting 5 was 3 rookies, and two guys in their 3rd seasons one of which was a 2nd round draftee so any results have been a bonus and Gordon and Griffin putting up 24.7 and 20ppg respectively so far has been a huge boost for them. Bledsoe, Aminu and Jordan all getting starter runs has been useful but I’m sure ideally Coach Del Negro would have more experienced starters around Griffin and Gordon.

Ghost01ParticipantGriffin to me is already a top 5 power foward in the NBA.
He is an absolute monster, I never thought he would be this good. He has a chance to be a truly special player. The past couple years, many guards like Rose, Rondo, Westbrook, Evans, Jennings, and Wall have emerged, but really Griffin is the only big guy who is this guy and this young. He will be a 10X all star if he stays healthy.

Ghost01Participanti disagree. I look at Gasol, Dirk (who isnt even a power forward in terms of style or ability, just size), Amare, and who else? Boozer is totally banged up, Bosh has been terrible, i mean seriously, who is playing better than Griffin at that spot?

stanford hoopsLike i said its not even a college season yet. he has to play a full season first. its alot easier to do work int he beginning as a rookie then it is near the end of the season
I recall bosh putting up 24 and 11 with toranto last year for the whole year right?..bosh numbers have gone down with james and wade of course. Plus kaman is out so when he’s back watch his numbers go down. Makes zero sense to say a rookie is one of the 5 best right now when there are 60 games left to play

Ghost01ParticipantYOu love criticizing everyone else’s opinion because you automatically believe yours is right.
I could careless what you think. Stanford sucks at basketball.
Im not talking in terms of accomplishment or accolades, I, (probably unlike you) have actually watched about 75% of Griffin’s games this year. There was an ESPN story about how scouts BEFORE the season already believed he could be a top 5 power forward. Its not too outlandish to make this statement. But like most of your arguements, im sure this one is very inconsistant, since that seems to be your forte.

stanford hoopsMakes no sense because it has been less then 20 games in the season. Like crowning tyreke evans and Brandon jennings top 5 at there position after 20 games in the NBA
its cool that you think stanford sucks but what does that say about you since you cant even get a scholarship there for basketball or get admitted there for academics?.. Ive watched just as many Griffin games as well but unlike you i like someone to prove it for a whole season not just 20 games unless they did the same thing last year and do it with there full roster in tact. has nothing to do with arguing and everything to do with proving it for a season

Ghost01ParticipantI dont think he has to prove it for a season. I said *barring injury*. If he doesnt get injured, i am 100% confident he will keep up with his production. Brandon Jennings had 1 good game last year. And neither him nor Evans were ever outplaying the top players at there respective positions last year.
And how in the hell do you know what i have done or where i have gone to school? Regardless, your arguement blows again. Im sure your right, and griffin will just start averaging 8 points and 4 rebounds when the almighty Kaman returns.

stanford hoopsHis numbers will more then likely go to around what they were before kaman was hurt. Kaman isnt shaq but lets not forget he was a allstar last year and thats nothing to sneeze at
And i know because i know. Come on now dont kid youre self you know you couldnt play or get into stanford so saying they suck just makes you seem bitter. Prove to US that you could have gotten into stanford for either and show me how wrong i am

stanford hoopsI can admit i couldn’t get into there. You on the other hand say they suck like you turned them down or something. Like you were ever good enough to get in. You brought it up when the subject had nothing to do with Stanford basketball so obviously you brought it up out of hate. Blake never went to Stanford and i dont think the clippers have any players from Stanford so out of the blue you brought up Stanford saying they suck, so its obvious that you brought it up out of hate.
You say they suck out of hate or anger yet you cant get in for basketball or academics now or ever even in your prime.
Then the kicker is you say this is completely unrelated yet YOU are the one who said
"Stanford sucks at basketball."
So how is it unrelated if you’re the one who decided to open that door

The Splash DocParticipantBaron Davis and Chris Kaman ASAP
Baron, Foye and a 1st to Houston for Battier and Lee
Kaman and Gomes to OKC for Jeff Green and BJ Mullens
Jordan/Mullens
Griffin/Cook
Green/Battier/Aminu
Gordon/Lee
Bledsoe/Warren
I love this team going forward Griffin-Gordon-Green as your top 3 options Jordan providing post defense, Bledsoe running the point. Battier as a veteran leader, Mullens hopefully developing along with Aminu and Warren and Lee for instant offense off the bench

NYK2010ParticipantI do think Griffin is playing like a top 5 PF, of course he has to do it over the long haul.
Still unlike some players he was great in college and has the athletic ability and skills to be great in the NBA too.
Speaking of crowning some guys Brandon Jennings def. got way too much credit for the Bucks winning last year. If he was such a big reason why they won he deserves a lot of the blame for the team struggling on offense this year.

NOW
PROVE IT TO ME! PROVE TO ME YOU COULD GET IN! I WANT YOUR SATS AND YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER! EVIDENCE!
seriously dude? grow the fuck up. Blake Griffin is killin it and i firmly believ ehe will continue to do so. Chris Kaman is like 97 years old he looked aweful this year, nothin like last year. Chris Bosh blows have fun with him. I personally guarantee Griffin will substantially outplay Bosh from now til the end of both of there careers. This guy was a no.1 overall pick for a reason…he is very very good at basketball. I dont need 8 seasons of evidence to go any further.

Doubtful this happens, Rockets GM is too smart to take on Baron’s contract and they have Aaron Brooks.
Baron will probably be dealt in the offseason or at the trading deadline next season.
Kaman and Gomes to OKC for Jeff Green and BJ Mullens
Better chance of this trade happening though OKC would still pass.

stanford hoopsyea that makes perfect sense for a adult to say stanford sucks to piss someone off (which you didn’t) you just made your self look like a hater. its OK you pretty much made a fool out of yourself so yeah that did work.
yeah saying you should wait a full season before crowning someone as a top 5 player at his position is just so ridiculous.
i should grow up because i said prove it. are you even thinking before writing dont you think someone who is saying something just to get someone pissed off needs to grow up. coming out and saying "Stanford sucks" in a argument about blake is just so mature ain’t it fellas.
‘In the future you should learn to know how you debate without getting so emotional or pulling a " im just trying to piss you off" move because all it does is make you look like a fool. I truly hope you are not a adult because that would be very sad.
Like i said before dont say things and then hide behind a fake name because a MAN will own up to it and put his real name out there

i should grow up because i said prove it. are you even thinking before writing dont you think someone who is saying something just to get someone pissed off needs to grow up. coming out and saying "Stanford sucks" in a argument about blake is just so mature ain’t it fellas.
‘In the future you should learn to know how you debate without getting so emotional or pulling a " im just trying to piss you off" move because all it does is make you look like a fool. I truly hope you are not a adult because that would be very sad.
Like i said before dont say things and then hide behind a fake name because a MAN will own up to it and put his real name out there

stanford hoopsYeah kaman is Just so old at what 27, 28?..He had a bad couple of games to start out the year so that means he’s gonna be that bad for the whole year. Basically according to this guy whatever a team or player is doing now its exactly what they are gonna be doing for the rest of the year. Ignore the fact that hes a rookie that has never played a full season or the fact teams start to change up there defense as a season goes along and figure out a better way to defend a player or that it has only been 20 games
I bet if this site changed it to where you had to make comments through your facebook page aloooooot of people wouldn’t be saying the same things they say now. Hoopsworld changed it and you can see a huge difference. Some people can only say certain things when they know no one knows who they are.

Ghost01ParticipantStanford, you obviously have a problem with me, you keep on jawing back with more nonsense.
Riddle me this mr. maturity.
IF you cant even get into stanford, why is that your name? Because you are a simple fan of the team, right? My college hoops team is Duke. We are ALOT better than Stanford at basketball. So from my POV, Stanford sucks at basketball.
People are saying this guy will be the best Clipper of alltime.

This is before the season even started. Read the 3rd paragraph. A credible source (unlike you) says he was already a top 5 PF in the NBA. Get over yourself. Its not crazy. Its my opinion. Which im allowed to have. Youve played all the classic "prove to me you could get into school x" "an adult would never say x y z" "your making a fool out of yourself" nonsense, that is just that, nonsense. You have no argument, take your fake stanford degree and go home.

They have a Page on facebook so if you really have the balls to say they suck do it on there with youre real account dont do it behind someones back. Thats a punk move

Ghost01ParticipantDude what is your problem? I said Stanford sucks at basketball. This has nothing to do with facebook or anything else. DUKE thats my team. DUKE BLUE DEVILS. number 1 in the nation. They would destroy stanford.
I am not bashing the school, just the basketball team. Your QB is going no.1 in the NFL draft. calm the fcuk down. You wanna talk about being an "adult" would an adult actually make the ridiculous claims you are making? You are dwelling on one comment that i could CARELESS about. Stanford is an awesome school. Congrats? a "punk move"? seriously. Grow up man. Im a man im not going to argue with you if this is just going to be about you having a soft spot for Stanford. I am here to talk about basketball.

Ghost01Participanta "vet" hahahaha. You really think you are "cool" because youve been on this website for years or whatever? Guess what, there are thousands of thousands of people who dont even know of this sites existence that know more about basketball than you. You are clearly a complete joke, i dont care if youve posted on here every day of your life. For a "vet" your points are terrible, and to make it worse, you bring up arguably the worst ranking of the best players in the league i have ever seen in my life to prove your point. Heres the thing "vet" you didnt win anything. You just proved you are a complete baby. "PROVE TO ME YOU COULD GET INTO STANFORD" roflmao. seriously. You are a funny guy. A funny guy with a sad amount of intelligence when it comes to basketball. If you are a vet, then im happy im not one, because you dont know anything about basketball.
PS Your Boy Westbrook is only ranked 30#…i thought he was the third best PG in the game right now? Your arguements conflict, because they are WEAK.

IndianaBasketballParticipantShaq #35… Whaaa? Chris Paul #13… WHAAA?
And I’ll be generous and say Duncan is still top 25, but he’s no longer a top 15 player in my opinion. He’s way past his prime.
There aren’t 50 players in the NBA better than Blake Griffin. Antawn Jamison being on this list is a complete joke.
And did Stanford Hoops really post that lol?

NYK2010ParticipantShaq 35th thats why so many teams were lining up to sign him up in the offseason.
So many players too high on the list Durant, Nash, Duncan, Joe Johnson, KG, Bogut, Ray Allen, Curry, Shaq.
Some players should be higher on this list Derrick Rose, Westbrook, Brook Lopez, Gerald Wallace.
Move Gerald Wallace to top 20-30 easily he’s very underrated, Westbrook is playing like a top 15 players now.
David Lee, Noah and Horford all a lil overrated I’d move them all down a couple of spots.
If this is really a list by 76 NBA coaches, gms ,broadcasters and former players not sure what they are watching.
Not sure when this list came out I’m guessing in preseason.
They forgot Ellis, Tyreke, Odom, Iguodala put them in place of Shaq, Curry, Jamison and Turkoglu.
This list so bad I’m surprised they left off Greg Oden.
