OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantIt seems like there is always a significant player on the Clippers that is injured or hurt.

trojans13ParticipantStop calling him a bust, why is he a bust if he gets hurt for six weeks. If he plays and sucks, aka Olowakandi, then he’s a bust. Injuries are circumstances you cant prevent. Its a busted knee cap, not a strained groin that you can play through. Stop the nonsense

IndianaBasketballParticipantThis is very unfortunate, but this isn’t a torn ligament or knee injury that’ll require microfracture surgery. As a matter of fact, depending on the fracture, he might not even need surgery. The injury didn’t look bad at all. He was able to walk off the court without limping and fully extend his knee, so I’m sure he only has a single crack across his knee. Now, if he was unable to straighten his knee, then that would’ve been very bad.
They’ll perform what they call a “straight leg test” to determine the severity of the fracture. If he passes the straight leg test, he won’t need surgery and will just have to where a knee immobilizer for about six weeks. Depending on his treatment/rehabilitation, he could be out of the knee immobilizer within two or three weeks and be allowed to wear a knee brace, so he can begin working on his range of movement and strength.
It all depends his diagnosis, treatment/rehabilitation and how quickly of a healer he is. He’ll be out 12 weeks MAX. Considering how hard he works on his body and the athlete he is, he’ll probably be back MUCH sooner. I wouldn’t be surprised if he returned in literally six weeks. Regardless, he should be able to return 100% and be able to continue being the beast that he is.

IndianaBasketballParticipantConsidering the way Griffin plays, it’d probably be wise for him to wear knee pads in order to avoid banging knees, etc.
Craig Smith played REALLY well during training camp and pre-season, so I think the Clippers will be okay. They’re still a pretty deep team. DeAndre Jordan better be ready to step up!

j1232eParticipanti was very excited to watch the clippers play this season. I also thought the clippers had a slight chance at a 8 seed. This ruins clipps chance of making a slash in the power house western conference.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 10/27/2009 - 10:30am #224174
IndianaBasketballParticipantHe hurt his shoulder during summer league. He banged knees with Craig Smith during training camp. They diagnosed him with a bruised left knee though. He then fractured his left patella while landing after a dunk versus the Hornets.
In my opinion, he had to fracture his knee when he banged knees with Smith at the beginning of training camp. It’s unusual to fracture a patella while landing… I mean, unless his quad contracted as his knee joint straightened. I think they should’ve rested his knee the entire training camp and not played him as much during pre-season games.
I’m starting to think the injuries to Clippers players has more to do with guidance and their training staff rather than some kind of curse. They need to clean house and get rid of everyone from the owner down to the coaching staff. Other than Lucas, everybody needs to go.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 10/27/2009 - 10:33am #224179
IndianaBasketballParticipantNo it doesn’t… Griffin will probably return in six weeks and even if he doesn’t… This team is still deep and arguably better than the Hornets.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 10/27/2009 - 10:39am #224182
j1232eParticipantthe clipps may be but not better. Chris Paul makes new orleans a better team.

NYK2010ParticipantHow do you figure their better than the Horents?
At SG/SF thats about it.0 - Posted on: Tue, 10/27/2009 - 10:44am #224169
NYK2010ParticipantGriffin a bust let him play first, this helps the Suns/Grizz, Thunder playoff chances.
Clips would be smart to give Jordan some playing time and give Gordon, Thornton more shots.
We already know what Kaman, Baron Davis, Camby can do.0 - Posted on: Tue, 10/27/2009 - 10:53am #224189
llperezI have the clips 8th and the hornets 7th going into the season, so I think it is close. A lot depends on health becuase there is no denying the talent the clips have with Baron, Camby and others. But the Hornets have Chris Paul, and that counts for a lot. If Peja can give them anything close to 15 pts a game and 40% shooting, they could prove to be real dangerous.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 10/27/2009 - 11:08am #224192
IndianaBasketballParticipantOther than Paul and West, who do the Hornets have? They have no wing scoring. Peja has a bad back and is no longer the same player. They’re talking about starting Julian Wright at small forward and quite honestly… He’s just not very good. Okafur is rarely healthy and it still remains to be seen how he fits. Mo Pete hasn’t been the same player for quite a few seasons. Thornton is good, but just a rookie. CP3 STILL has no reliable backup.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 10/27/2009 - 11:10am #224193
IndianaBasketballParticipantThey’re better at shooting guard, small forward and center. The Clippers are also the deeper team. They’re the BIGGER team when it comes to the front court.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 10/27/2009 - 11:12am #224195
llperezOn paper, the clippers have more talent. But we still haven’t really seen how all that talent will coincide together. Paul and DWest pick and roll is proven and has got them 50 wins 2 years in a row.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 10/27/2009 - 11:17am #224197
rtbtParticipantLet’s not forget who’s coaching the Clippers. Having Dunleavy as your coach should, in my opinion, count as a negative when evaluating this team.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 10/27/2009 - 11:30am #224200
IndianaBasketballParticipantHa ha you’re 100% right about that.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 10/27/2009 - 1:39pm #224211
FT33ParticipantFML! But seriously, Blake getting hurt really messes up the moral of the Clipper. But, the Clippers needs to step up there game, never give up, and have good team chemistry(and don’t get hurt, obviously). This, and this alone, will help them get through the six weeks on a good note(well, this is standard that all NBA teams).
0 - Posted on: Tue, 10/27/2009 - 5:45pm #224232
marcusfizer21ParticipantThis is the one thing that could hinder the Clippers’ progress… I wanted Blake to debut NOW so bad… Another 6 weeks would hurt his chances of winning the ROY… But hey… It’s still a long season… I can wait…
0 - Posted on: Wed, 10/28/2009 - 6:44am #224369
TheAlchemistThe Clippers aren’t making the playoffs; with or without Griffin. Baron Davis is running that team and can’t make a jumpshot, Marcus Camby is 47 years old and they are giving minutes to Rasual Butler and Ricky Davis = fail. Good luck with that one, clippers fans…
I’m out, like Blake Griffin’s NBA career…
0 - Posted on: Wed, 10/28/2009 - 8:50am #224397
quincey hodgesclippers look better on paper but the game isnt played on paper. hornets has the best pg in the nba a all star pf and a very good center thats all they really need..everyone else just has to play there role..if the clippers werent named the clippers i might think different ..lol
