Who do you guys think are the biggest winners and losers of the draft? Losers obviously Toronto. Winners, I think Denver, bos, and Charlotte had strong drafts

i don’t know about Sacramento.. are they expecting Stauskas to play a little Point Guard? they have only 1 Point Guard under contract (McCallum).. that’s putting more on pressure on them to match what Thomas will get in the market

Denver had the best draft overall making a great deal for the 11th pick getting 16 Jusuf Nurkic and 19 Gary Harris who I thought they’d take at 11. The Suns also had a good draft getting TJ Warren, Tyler Ennis, and Bogandanovic. Boston and Charlotte did well as you mentioned.

The Mitch McGary pick wasn’t bad maybe just a bit early, but I didn’t even have Josh Huestis getting drafted at all.

wasn’t a bad pick. I kinda like it to be honest but they have better options at the 29 so yeah.

Coming away with Exum @ 5 and Hood @ 23 was a pretty good way to start…

…they could have completed the trifecta by drafting GR3 @ 35, but opted to trade it to Memphis for a 2016 second rounder… ??? I don’t really get that. Still, the Jazz had one of the best drafts IMO due to a great first round.

They have too many young players, and you knew they weren’t going to keep all of them.  Also we don’t know the details of the trade.  There was probably some cash involved as well.

Way to soon to know how teams did at this point.  Who knew how good of a draft the Wolves had the year they selected OJ Mayo before trading him for Kevin Love and drafting Pekovich in the 2nd round.  All I recall from that draft was how stupid the Wolves were for trading Mayo.

Utah for me. They got Exum who slide a position or so, and got Hood who unexpectedly fell all the way to 24. Just need to target a big men and Utah are looking go into the future.

It is actually really hard to find a loser other then the Raptors. Magic if they didn’t get Payton, would have been losers, as I really don’t like them reaching on Gordon all the way at 4. Most teams would be happy with the players they got

OKC and Clippers are my biggest losers.

OKC got more defensive players.  When will they learn they need more than just Durant and Westbrook going iso and Ibaka hitting jump shots?

And the Clippers? What the hell?  Clearly JJ Redick, Jamal Crawford, Jared Dudley, Willie Green and Reggie Bullock just were not enough shoting guards so in comes CJ Wilcox

Sacre? He’s a 20 minute per game traditional center. And now randle who is a pf, and him are the only 2 bigs signed on the entire roster. How does sacre lose anything.

Why does nobody understand the fact that the days of clearly defined positions are behind us? Utah is going to utilize both their young guards. Why? Because one is a better scorer than passer, and the other is a better playmaker than scorer. That’s what a complement is.

Most teams projected Exum as a 2 anyway.  He can back up Burke and play the wing both.  It’s a great fit and a fantastic draft for Utah.

that he was upset when minnesota picked him. The video shows that he slammed his head on the table and mouthed "F me" when has name was called. Other reports suggest that he may have simply been relieved that the draft process was over, but the overwhelming majority believe he was frustrated with Minnesota for picking him..personally, I like him and hope the pick works out..hopefully we’ll see Rubio throwing a few more lobs now that the team has added two guys with 40+ verts.

He was interviewed after and is excited to play for Minnesota with Rubio. He had a promise from mn too so he knew he was going there.

I hope you’re right. But you know that Minnesotans are natural worriers, right? And with one UCLA player in Love already trying to push his way back to Cali, it makes sense why worrywart Minnesotans wouls be up in arms over the Lavine clip, however harmless it may have been.

Yeah I understand it, it just sucks for him to start out like this because it really was just the genuine emotion and exhiliration of being drafted from what I understand. Of course people will think that too with what’s going on with K-Love, but I really think he’s excited to play with Rubio and some of these other young players. I really like what Flip did in the draft tonight.

Lamb and Adam can play. The problem is coaching because Scott brooks doesn’t call plays other then give the ball to Durant or westbrook, and doesn’t give the bench any minutes.

I think this team should be the front runner for the West next season if Scott Brooks wasn’t so in question. So if OKC did draft better players in this draft I doubt they would get minutes anyways for them because the youth on the team already.

Once he gets his shooting up, everyone is gonna be kickin themsleves for not picking him. Amazing how well he fits with what SA does. Plus he could be Boris Diaws replacement

James McAdoo is the biggest loser tonight… Goes from a top 3 high school prospect to undrafted underacheiver. Boy is that slope slippery.

I don’t know if I’d go so far to say they were one of the biggest winners, but I think the simple fact that Milwaukee got a guy that they can build around who also said he hopes to spend his entire career in Milwaukee alone makes them one of the bigger winners this year.  Add Damien Inglis on top of that, who has a ton of potential, I think Milwaukee did a great job on those two picks.

Regarding Boston, I think the guys they got were both solid values at the slots where they got them, but I’m honestly not that high on James Young.  He didn’t really do any one thing all that well at Kentucky.  His biggest strength was considered to be his perimeter shooting, but he shot 35% from 3 for the season and 33% in conference play, and he was just average inside as well.  He’s a non-existant passer and defender, so if he doesn’t develop his scoring ability, he really won’t bring much to the Celtics.  Having said that, I like Smart as a prospect, especially at #6.  It’ll be interesting to see how he fits with Rondo, but you can’t really complain about Boston taking the likely best player available at that spot.  Ainge is flexible enough that he can develop that roster into something pretty good in the near future.

I thought Chicago getting McDermott was an absolutely perfect move, and at the same time, Denver got a great return in that trade as they were able to get Nurkic and Gary Harris with the 16th and 19th picks.

I liked a lot of teams drafts. Julius Randle is going to make people shake their heads at how he feel to the Lakers at 7. He’s going to be a beast. Doug McDermott is a perfect fit for Chicago. He can score off the ball as good as anyone and has a killer jumper plus if there was one team who can hide him on defense…it’s the Bulls. He’s going to be great there. Vonleh to Charlotte was pretty cool, sucks for Zeller though. Not a fan of Gordon or Payton individually but you put them together with Oladipo, Harkless, Vucecic? That team has a chance to be a HISTORIC defense if they all develop.
