MadDogParticipantAny thoughts on who looks to be the biggest gamble in the draft this year? In other words the guy with the biggest gap between floor and ceiling so a guy like Wiggins wouldn’t count be since his floor’s still pretty high. Personally I reckon Smart looks like a bit of a risk due to his lack of shooting plus no ones sure how well he can play off ball as a 2 but his strength and leadership suggests he could be a dominant 2 way player. Another example would be PJ Hairston for me because prospects playing in the D league before declaring is a relatively new thing so I’m not 100% sure on the talent disparity between the leagues (plus loads of bench guys have dominated the d league before). Any input much appreciated

kazamParticipantExum has to be considered a high risk high reward guy simply becuase of the lack of knowledge about his game

Lotto StudParticipantAlthough I like him a lot, realistically speaking I’m going to say Aaron Gordon.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantAaron Gordon could be the next Blake Griffin or he could be Jeremy Evans.. I feel like thats a huge gap.

BajeebzParticipantYoung won’t turn 19 until the middle of August. He has the potential to become a go-to scoring option, but his shooting percentages are really concerning. Less than 40% fg, less than 34% from college threes, 67% free throws. I wouldn’t touch him with a lottery pick, but I like his potential as a late first rounder. Right now he’s mocked as the 22nd pick to OKC. Maybe he could thrive in an established, winning system such as the Thunder, Spurs, Heat, etc.

Rip255Has to be Embiid. People are comparing him to Hakeem and he’s still so raw.

Jester87ParticipantExum and it’s not even close. Some GMs have never seen him play and will see him for the first time during workouts. And while scouts went to a few of his games, all they could see was him playing against very poor competition. Big gamble.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantMitch McGary-He possibly could’ve went in the lottery last year..But his slow start to start the season and back issues might drop him to late 1st or 2nd round..Where ever he lands some team will be getting a steal…
Andrew Harrison-Has to be the most disappointing prospect…Some of the reason why Kentucky hasn’t lived up to expectations might be becuz his play has been so wildly inconsistent and too passive….But some scouts still think he’ll be a 1st round pick if he comes out, becuz of his handles, size, jumper and he’s a good defender when sets his mind to it…….
Kyle Anderson-He could be 1 of the best players from this draft in 5 years or he could be out of the league…But he’s a high IQ player and those guys always bring things to the table that makes you overlook their negatives…

Jester87ParticipantI wouldn’t call McGary and Harrison high risk players, right now they’re projected to go in the second round or at best in the late first (though very unlikely), I don’t see that great risk using a late 1st round pick or a 2nd in a guy who might be a total bust. Most of late 1st rounders or 2nd rounders end out the league pretty soon.
Agree on Anderson, though I see more risk than reward.

RUDEBOY_Participant2 more guys that could be big risk-high reward are Chris Walker & Mario Hezonja..
Neither guy has gotten much playing time with their teams this year, teams selecting them will have to judge them based on what they’ve done in the past……
