    BIG Knicks signing here….

    DraftExpress

Russian center Timofey Mozgov will sign a three year, 9.7 million dollar contract with the New York Knicks. Knicks will pay Khimki 500k USD.

Hes a center..7’1 260 lbs. #1 rated overseas free agent last 2 years. Saw some video on the guy and hes pretty athletic and runs the floor well. I just hope the contract isnt guaranteed for 3 years.

I think Donnie Walsh just wants to stick it to Prokhorov. But read his profile on Draftexpress.com it gives some info on why he wasnt drafted due to buyout clauses etc… I think the Knicks are stockpiling talent as tradeable assets.

D’antoni didnt give Darko much of a chance last year. Not sure he’ll give this guy much of a chance this year either. The Knicks do have some size now with : Stoudemire, Randolph, Turiaf, Jerome Jordan, Mozgov, and Curry. Not that I expect the Knicks to be worldbeaters in the paint but they’ll be better than they have the past couple years.

The catch is he is going to play for the Knicks.. That is where he will resurrect his career the same way that Darko did… Dont get ya hopes up.. D’Antoni is a sucker for foreign players and will always give them a chance.. He will play but Amare is your center so get ready to be out rebounded on a nightly basis…

    Size??

Amare is a 6’9 PF and is skinny…
Randolph is tall but is small like Durant…
    Jordan isnt any good…
    Mozgov is unheard of…
Curry is huge but he doesnt play basketball anymore…

Maybe you can call that size in D’Antoni’s system but not in the real NBA…

Look.. I can admit that the Knicks have size if they have it but the starting C for the Knicks is going to Amare.. Randolph prolly wont play because he cant score.. Gallo is a tall SG that wont rebound… NO size…

8 Deadly Sins…What are you talking about really?

Amare averaged 9 rebounds last season. Randolph averaged 6.5 in 22 min per game. Those numbers should increase. Gallinari is not a tall SG, He’s a modern day Hedo/ Peja type. He progressed faster then both.

    Amare- 6’10
    Randolph- 6’10
    Gallo-6’10

Ok..but Stoudemire isnt “skinny” and hes 6’10 250. Randolph will play…Walsh has wanted him for a while..and while Randolph isnt a great shooter he can score..hes in the Lamar Odom mold, he just needs to put on some weight. And when Gallo was asked to rebound he did. He had several double doubles. The only bigs in the East really worth a damn are Dwight Howard, Brook Lopez and Andrew Bogut. You wanna talk about skinny…look no further than Chris Bosh. I just said the Knicks had more size than they have recently.

Stat is buff as hell and 6’10

Ant is 6’11 230 and a huge wingspan
    Jordan..okay ur right

Ant can score, he will be a beast, id rather have Ant than Lee and thats from a W’s fan after watching what he can do when he gets minutes. Stat and AR will be deadly

Dude… You Knicks guys are true fans.. I have to give ya that.. Your whole orgainization blew nuts for years and recently stopped trying to win so that they could get Lebron and Bosh… Instead yall get Felton, Amare, and Mozgov… Not to mention, in the draft, you didnt even try to get guys that are going to contribute.. Yall drafted guys that you can cut and not feel bad about.. Ebanks, Character, Stephenson, Rolle, Harangody, and Warren were all on the board and were all guaranteed to make an NBA team.. The 2 guys yall drafted were going to go undrafted and never thought about again.. Im starting to feel bad for you all as Knicks fans because you all get your hopes up for everything..

I salute you Knicks but I dont see how you are still fans of this franchise…. Probably not even a playoff team next year..

Is he better than Earl Barron? It says he’s seeing limited minutes on his team. Barron showed he was a good post defender last year. I think we could get him for this money or less, so I have to think this guy is better than Barron or the Knicks wouldn’t make this move. Darko Milicic is making more than this and I wouldn’t want him back, so I hope this isn’t true or this guy is a good player. And I agree that I hope this isn’t three years of guaranteed money, unless he’s a real gem.

Knicks fans get their hopes up.. This was titled “BIG Knicks Signing” as if it were a big deal.. Every Knick fan on this site has nailed me with negatives on my posts.. One has like -8 all on true statements.. Randolph hasnt proved he can score in anything but the summer league.. Gallo is a big shooter and can be Hedo light at best…

Do you all remember when yall got Sergio?? Everyone said he was the answer at the PG position even though he had never shown it.. Remember Darko?? He was going to chance his fate in NY.. What about Duhon?? He was tagged as the perfect PG for the system..

Im sure that everyone is in love with Felton at this point.. People think that Rautins in the next Ray Allen..

It shouldnt matter what team is my favorite.. Tell me what that changes about anything that I have said.

I recalled reading scouting report that Mozgov is a solid big man. One of the better young big in Euro, but he’s more of a traditional big man. I am not sure if he can play run and gun for D’Antoni though.

Im jealous?? Thats rich! I guess yall can claim the best fans in the league because yall sure as hell dont have the best of anything else..

    GM – Not even close
Coach – Never going to win a championship
PG – Who is it at this point?? Felton? Not even top 10.
SG – Chandler?? More of a PF/SF but isnt even a top 10 at that…
SF – Gallo? Lol… Nah.. Kid can shoot for sure but not even close to top 10..
PF – Amare.. Very good player?? Best PF?? No..
C – Umm.. You dont even have one to claim…

You are going to make the playoffs??

    Who are you better than??

    Celtics? No
    Hawks? No
    Heat? No
    Magic? No
    Bucks? No
    Bulls? No
    Bobcats? No
    Pacers? Maybe
    Cavs? Maybe
    Nets? Maybe
    76ers? Maybe
    Wizards? Maybe
    Raptors? Yes
    Pistons? Yes

I just dont see it my man.. You have the best fans but to be honest, yall are lottery bound next year.

Gallo is better right now than Hedo ever was. I wouldn’t expect great thing from Felton because he is, at best, an average starter. he also won’t make them any better on D because he don’t play much of it, and you know that if you watched Nelson light him up every game in the first round last season. I do thin the Knicks will make the playoffs though. The East is really really really really top heavy right now but the 7 and 8 seeds are wide open for the Knicks to sneak in.

Hedo was a borderline all-star…. Gallo is that right now?? I dont think soo..

Hedo was the 2nd best player on a championship contending team.. Gallo isnt the best player on a team that cant make the playoffs..

Gallo better right now then hedo ever was? Nope, hedo’d biggest strength was dribbling and setting up teammates and playing like a point forward. I honestly wouldnt even compare him and gallo. Gallo doesnt do those same things. He might become better then hedo, but it wont be in the same ways unless you think he has point type skills he hasnt shown.

All we can do is wait and see with the knicks. Im not high on what they have done. But lets please wait before we write off landry fields 8thsin. That guy is no bum.

There is no such thing as a boarderline all-star. Either you were or you weren’t. If my memory serves me correctly Howard and Lewis and Nelson were all all-stars while Hedo wasn’t. Gallo is only in his third year upcoming and he has more advanced skill than Hedo and is going to be a player to bulid around instead of what hedo was, a complimentary player.

Wow.. Okay man.. You go ahead and build your team around this guy.. There is no team in the NBA where this guy can go and be more than the 3rd option.. Hedo was far more important to that team than Lewis or Nelson.. They got votes because they were more popular.. Just like Prince when Billups, Wallace, and Hamilton were making all-star teams, and Prince was watching from the stands…

Build a team around a guy that cant do much more than shoot.. Put him on a real team that is going to compete for something other than a playoff spot and we can laugh as he sits on the bench as “The Rooster”

Just got onto this thread … did some dude call Amare’ skinny???

He’s what would be called a fighter’s 245 (the weight at weigh in), and it is all power as can be seen by the highlights.

you shouldnt build a team around him but he is the ultimate utility player… gallo is solid defensively almost averaging a block and a steal… while leading the league in 3’s… hes a solid player and when he gets decent minutes he can be good…

dude, what are u even trying to refer to on the pistons there… that is not relevant to him being a 3rd option whatsoever… and your wrong.. this kid can easily be a 3rd option… hes runs in the best offense suited to his game… and is starting to get a post player (amare) that commands doubles from the defense… this knicks team will be better…

I was impressed by that kid last summer at eurobasket.
Not sure at all it’s a d’antoni type of player nor nba ready, but he has something.
    Amare’s not a C, but skinny stop the bong…
Randolph is skinny yep, but long, high, fast as hell…he’ll shock the world.
Stat-randolph-chandler-lighter and healthy sky-walker, buike, some serious highlights coming….at least.

    hey guys

i´m a knicks guy myself but please lets be realistic. building around gallo? please no! hes good but nothing like a francise player. and him being solid on D? since when does solid D mean you can´t defend any wings because your slower and cant defend and bigs because they are stronger?

gallo is a good 3rd option player on a good team but never in the world anything more. but please amare is not skinny but he is nothing like a warrior either. since when does having no interest in rebounds and defense makes you a warrior?

and please stop talking about earl barron like he was good. there is something to “good stats on a bad team” and it does not make you a good player. and jerome jordan? you really think a starting nba C would slip to the second round? maybe 1 in a million!

and the BIG signing? okay lets see what he does but i don´t expect much…

8th deadly sin, do the knicks fans a favor and just quit posting. You wonder why every time you post you get a bunch of negatives. Maybe its because most of the fans on this site are Knick fans. I hate the Knicks too, but I don’t go around bad mouthing their team cause I know it will get me nowhere.
Also their are major things wrong with your posts,
Amare is not skinny, he is 6’10 245, any team would die to have that big man be their four. David Lee is not with any more, he just got traded to the Warriors right after Lebron chose the Heat. Randolph is skinny but he is 6’11, and he could probably start at the 3 or the 4 if he plays well enough. Gallo is not the piece the Knicks are building around, I say they were just crappy for a few years so that way they could get Lebron and other all star free agents this year. So much for that. If they are going to build around someone, I’d say its Amare.
Hedo was not the most important on the Magic roster in 2009. I’d say it would Dwight Howard. Why do you think Hedo was traded that offseason. Obvioulsy he wasn’t that important. He was definitely not the second best on the Magic. Those honors go Rashard Lewis. Hedo may have been the 3rd or 4th best player on that Magic team. Prince also is not the most important guy on the Pistons. Id say its Rip Hamilton (now, before I would have said Billups but he is gone now)
Those are only a few of them, I have noticed others but I will not post them as others already have. Get your facts straight before you post. This site is a stickler for the facts.

Yall are crazy.. No matter what I say, Im wrong.. Hedo was the 2nd most important player on that team.. You saw what happened when they didnt have him..

Gallo is a third option at best.

The Knicks will still struggle to make the playoffs.. If they do, they will be beat in the first round..

Amare is the key to their team but he has shown that you cant build a championship team around him..

Knicks fans blow everything out of proportion thinking that they will finely be good again.

Look… @ the Jazz guy.. I know Lee isnt with the team anymore.. I simply said that because Lee played C while he was with the Knicks.. Amare is going to play C with the Knicks….Try to comprehend before you tell me what is wrong..
I never said that Hedo was more important to that team than Howard.. I never said Prince was the most important player to the Pistons.. Again, try to keep up.. Also, Hedo wasnt traded, he was simply not resigned because the Raptors were stupid enough to sign him to a huge, 5 year deal when he was 32 years old.. You need to get your facts straight before you start telling me something…

Also, I dont hate the Knicks or their fans.. I simply feel sorry for them because when anyone says anything that is true about their team, they get pissed and start putting down everyone.. Someone wanted to know who my favorite team was so that he could start putting them down..

I dont have a favorite team.. I have a zero bias towards the NBA and thats why I can say anything I want.. I dont like any team more or less than any other team.. I can see the NBA in a way that most people cant because I dont favor anyone..
