KD is too skinny for me. He is a perfect 3. Melo has really impressed me lately and I think he should play the 4 full time, but I have to go with LeBron. He is stronger, faster than most 4s and is a great rebounder. LeBron just does it all.

I wouldn’t put KD in the conversation because Melo and LBJ are beasts when playing the 4.  Offensively I would go with Melo but defensively/rebounding-wise I would go with LBJ.

Lebron, due to his body, strength, and physicality.

Melo no question. Best post scorer, damn good offensive rebounder, & can get by any 4 off the dribble.

    1st Lebron. Then Melo.

The Heat already use Lebron as the 4 during games. The Knicks also use Melo at the 4 when Amare is out. KD never plays the 4 for the Thunder.

Coach K will be using Lebron and Melo at the 4 in the Olympics.

    1. lebron almost never plays PF… you’re making it sound as if it was a usual thing

    2. KD occasionally plays the 4. idk what you’re talking about

as i watched okc, van gundy talked about how much of a mismatch kd is at the 4, so i included him.

i think lebron would produce more cus… duh! is lebiw james.but i think melo is better suited at the four; he is just as strong and has a much better low post game. this year he’s only getting 6rpg but we all know he’s capable of more.

as far as kd, i think is ridiculous to put him in the convo. he’s getting 8 boards a game, just as much as lbj…. he would destroy as a stretch four.

    1. Melo – Played 3/4 in high school, plus at Syracuse. It seemed like he was a four the whole time at Syracuse. Has played it his entire NBA career, plus during the Olympics.

    2. LeBron – More of a ball dominant point forward, who’s started to play the four occassionally.

    3. Durant – Has started playing the position here and there. Eventually he should pass up both Melo and LeBron, as he gets stronger.

I thought Melo played the 3 alongside Warrick at the 4 and Forth at the center….

Offensively Melo is a better 4 than Lebron, but Lebron does enough better defensively to make up the difference.  Durant is a clear step below in this category.

It is very subjective, Is lebron or Battier, or Miller the 4?  Is Carmelo or Novak or Jeffries or Harrelson the 4.

    but Lebron is better

LeBron dominates the ball too much as a true 3 out 2 in 4 man, LeBron is better as a 4 out 1 in 4 man, where he can work off the dribble

KD is a 3 man through and through, if he played too long at the 4, he’d get bullied and in foul trouble

Lebrons got the size and versatility. Melos polished enough offensively to get buckets anywhere plus has the strength. but as tall and talented as KD is, he just doesnt have the strength to play in the post consistantly. So Id definitely play LBJ at the post. Melo could get minutes. but id keep Kd on the wing where hes most effective.

Melo is the better 4 and that’s no question.  It’s to the point now that the Knicks should seriously consider trading Amare for a couple players and finding a new player to start at the 3.  The only way Amare and Melo works out is if the Knicks didn’t have a 5 that controlled the defensive side of the ball like Chandler.

M-Eazy – Amare and his contract with his injury history are totally unmovable.

"John Hollinger mentioned in his writeup about the Knicks that Carmelo averages a 30 PER as a PF but only a 15 PER as a SF. "

Yeah i would have to go with Melo here, Lebrons more of a point forward but Melos offensive game is alot better suited for the 4 then Lbj
