GottaFeedTheFamParticipantOk heres the premise: your trying to create the best team possible, but at the same time keep in mind team concept, how all of the players would play together and whether your team has the perfect mix of scoring, defense, and playmaking ability. Lets say all players that you are picking are fully healthy and in the prime of their career. To further complicate things, lets keep in mind that most of the people you pick have never played together on the same team and are unfamilair with how everyone else on the teams play so try to pick players with defined roles. Lastly dont cheat on players positions, use the position they played the majority of their career at.
Heres my team:
C- Hakeem Olajuwon
PF-Tim Duncan
SF-Larry Bird
SG-Joe Dumars
PG-Steve Nash
My reasoning behind picking this team was to have a dominating frontcourt and a backcourt that could stretch the floor and make plays while also being able to hold it down defensively. Hakeem and Duncan would dominate defensively, playing great man defense, racking up blocks, steals and altering a ton of shots while also making up for Nash and Birds defensive shortcomings. Hakeem would be the first offensive option in the post and Duncan is the perfect compliment because of his unselfishness, high iq, and awareness when to take over games when he needed to. Bird would be the teams number one option on the perimeter, he would create a lot of pressure with his 3pt shooting and playmaking ability making it impossible to double team either big man or himself, he also would be the go to crunch time scorer and honestly he might get burned on defense with his slow footspeed and lateral movement, but he had very quick hands (leading to a lot of steals) and and incredibly high defensive iq (he always knew where to be) so he really adds to the team defense. Joe Dumars is there for his defense and clutch scoring and the fact that he would be a perfect #4 or #5 scoring option and still play his absolute hardest. Nash is the key to the team, his vision, leadership, team oriented passing, and playmaking ability in transition would make this team really go. Nash also adds another 3pt shooter to stretch the floor and his drive and dish would be complimented by everyone on the team being able to hit open jumpers consistently. This team would play great defense and could score effectively and efficiently in half court offensive sets, but they would be deadly in transition with Nash leading the break and having Hakeem and Bird running with him.

rileymcshea3ParticipantOK heres mine
C-Wilt Chamberlain
Pf-Dirk Nowitzki
Sf-LeBron James
Sg-Michael Jordan
Pg-Magic Johson
I have a awesome defense and no Dirk is not a defensive liability and he wont need to rebound because everyone on this team can.My offense also has some of the greatest passers at there positions and a dominating C with athletic tall backcourt and Dirk helps spread the court because he can bring his Pf out of the paint for the other guys . And MJ is the shortest guy on my team at 6’6

GottaFeedTheFamParticipantIts an interesting team Riley, you have a ton of height and some great players, the only things I question are do you have enough shooting to spread the floor and would Magic be able to spread the ball around enough to keep all those guys happy and playing hard? Magic palying with Mj and Lebron would have been ridiculous though, theres never been a fast break like that ever.

rileymcshea3ParticipantYeah thats why i have Dirk because he takes a big man out of the paint and Lebron and Mj can still knock down open 3s .I would also get good shooters off the bench
