cp33ParticipantWho do you think was the biggest steal of the summer(draft, free agency, trade). I think Josh Childress is going to surprise a lot of people. The suns are planning to use him as a sixth man. I think he could win 6th man of the year if he stays in that role. I could really see him starting at the 3 for the Suns in place of Grant Hill. I think Nash is going to make him that much better. I also think that Steve Blake may be big for L.A. and Anthony Randolph might average 20 with playing time in NY. What do you guys think?

td8118ParticipantRonnie Brewer to me….although you can also Mike Miller too along with Eddie House…they are the kind of players that are on champion ship teams

cp33Participantyea, Mike Miller could be huge for the Heat. wide open 3’s all game long.

cp33ParticipantI dont think Mike Miller should be considered a steal though. He probably is going to be the same player he has been for awhile. Same for House

storm33ParticipantHow about the Pistons’ pickup of Tracy McGrady? He was signed at the veteran’s minimum for just one year, a near no-lose situation. If he puts up some numbers, it could bode well for the Pistons.

BasterdInABasketParticipantI agree on Childress he started to contribute his last couple years in Atlanta and those two years in Greece probably helped his shooting and understanding of the game.
Matt Barnes to LA is a steal too. Is it really fair that they have this much defense and length on their team now?
I think Al Jefferson is an upgrade over Boozer too because of his size and inside moves.

bkballerParticipantwith 7 footers such hot comodities… the Knicks picked up an athletic 7-1 center that will be starting for them at some point this season.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantRaja Bell – will provide invaluable leadership, is an elite defender and averages about 2 threes a game.
Anthony Morrow – Will get more consistent PT in NJ and will lead the league in threes.
Randy Foye – He’s still capable of putting up numbers and will be a great foil to Davis and Gordon.

NYK2010ParticipantSteals I’d say Morrow the Nets desperately need a shooter now even more with Lee gone.
Mozgov could be really good esp. on defense, legit 7 footer who adds size.
Anthony Randolph got him for nothing as Lee was gone and he’s a good shot blocker something the Knicks need.
Mike Miller can be a very good 6th man and a great shooter
Al Jefferson for nothing big help for Utah as Boozer couldn’t handle the elite bigs in the West. Also this allowed Millsap to stay as a 6th man.
Biggest steal of the offseason was Demarcus Cousins if he plays up to his ability he could be the most valuable player in the draft.
Tmac to me is done and the Pistons have too many wing players already, should’ve went to the Spurs and came off the bench or battled RJ for a spot. Barnes he’s a nice defender and 3pt shooter but when will he play in big spots with Artest and Kobe. This means Walton basically won’t play much at all and Vujacic’s mins will be cut. Theo Ratliff is a decent signing becaz he’s another shot blocker/rebounder who can guard bigs esp. with Bynum hurt. Jermaine O’neal for the Celtics he’s a quality backup Center and still has something left, Shaq will help them defend Orlando if they meet in the playoffs with his size.
Its a 4 team race for the title Lakers, Mavs, Celtics and Heat.

durantula83ParticipantEven with the money both earn, Miami had the biggest steals of the summer by snatching LeBron from Cleveland and keeping Wade from signing with the Bulls.
Some lower budget steals:
- Ronnie Brewer
- Raja Bell
- Shannon Brown
- Josh Howard
- T-Mac
- Anthony Morrow
- Nate Robinson
- Delonte West (When he isn’t gunn running or depressed he’s a quite capable bench player.)
- Dorell Wright

mj23mj23besteverParticipanttotally agree on the knicks getting a legit 7 ft who will start at sum point this year for nothing was a huge steal

ajk004ParticipantTwo second rounders and some cash for a guy on his rookie contract producing approx 15 ppg behind Wade. Not too bad. I’m not saying he’ll live up to his pre-draft hype or be an all-star, but there was a lot of talk that Minny needed a go to scorer and Beasley could be that guy. For a rebuilding team that can’t attract top tier free agents I think this is a steal. I was reading all about how Minny should or should not trade picks 4, 16 and 23 to Philly for Evan Turner so that they would have a ball dominant slasher on the wing and instead they ended up with Beasley for a couple second rounders. Word out of Minny is that Beasley will like see a large chunk of his minutes at the 3. If you took a poll of Minny fans asking would they would prefer Beasley of Turner straight up I’m pretty sure Michael wins.

flybobbyflyParticipantjordan farmar is going to have a breakout year. one of the biggest steals this offseason.

Jlv2010ask the Miami Heat. they have two.

ShekiruBoomParticipantI’m gonna go Al Jefferson. Al is solid 20&10 guy and the Jazz basically got him for nothing but late 1st rounders!! That trade alone kept them in the playoffs after Boozer left o and i forgot about the trade exception for the TWolves but still!!
0 - Posted on: Mon, 10/04/2010 - 8:33am #409226
ShekiruBoomParticipantbut Beasley isn’t gonna have nearly the same impact Al Jefferson is gonna have for the Jazz. All the Jazz lost are only low draft picks

JNixonParticipantConsidering what Minnesota gave up for him (not much at all), Mike Beasley is easily the biggest steal IMO. Especially if you’re going by the pure production he’ll put up. His impact won’t be as great as someone like someone who’s playing a smaller role on a contender because they actually are playing for the title (ie Mike Miller), but Beasley should have the most production for the amount of time he’ll get.

NashyMingParticipantLinas Kleiza is gonna be a big steal for the Raptors!
1) His contract is cheap relatively to what he can do
2) The Raptors do not have another swingmen to take minutes from him.
3) He was great as the focal point for Lithania in the world championship.

DoubleNickelsDurr55ParticipantI noticed no one is talking about Shaq. With Perkins out at least until theall-star break. Shaq should fit great in the starting role. The Celtics signed the future hall of famer for the money found in Danny Ainges couch. Watching him in practice he looks to be in shape and Doc is giving him rave reviews. The best off-season pick up, especially for a title contender.

ChewyParticipantthat Mike Miller will probably play at the same level that he has been playing at, but now with the stars around him now he is more valuable because of his role on the team. You have to compare him to the other teams subs rather than there starters.
