Best in the NBA
Well think of it like this. Austin Rivers has a quick first step, it's something people love about him. But would anyone say he's fast for his possition? Quick would be players like Westbrook and Rose who can blow by you in a blink with a nasty change of direction and burst of speed. Fastest would be guys who will beat you down the court like LeBron and Wade.
Chris Paul is the best passer in the league period. Rondo may average more assists but he also averages about 2.5 turnovers more than him. Irving can't be the best ball handler in the game after one season, he's nice but no, imo carmelo is still the best all around scorer in the league even though he had a down season, he has no weakness in his offensive game, as he can post up, shoot, drive, and finish extremely well, KD will need to work on his post up game and not rely on his jumper as much then he will be the best all around scorer
Blake Griffin is the best dunker.
Steve Nash is the best ball handler. This pick is really a toss up though between a few of the top PG's.
Ray Allen is still the best at the three as long as he is playing.
Kevin Love might have taken the spot for best rebounder.
How is Rondo smarter and a better passer than Paul but averages 2.5 more turnovers than him? Rondo has played with the big 3 for 4 years so they had good chemistry. Paul had no training camp or practice so he had to learn on the fly and still had an impressive season. Paul is way smarter than Rondo and is a much much better leader than him
Who is the best in the NBA AT. I cant say that these guys without a doubt are the best, but I think you can make a strong arugment for all of them, because in reality there is no way to really prove it.
passing: Rubio,Paul, Rondo
mid range shooting: Kobe Bryant
3 point shooting: Steve Novak
all around scoring: Carmelo Anthony
dunking: Blake Griffin
ball handling: Kyrie Irving
defender: Thabo Stefolosha
crossover: Deron Williams
rebounder: Kevin Love
shot blocking: Serge Ibaka
quickest: Ty Lawson
fastest: Derrick Rose
strongest: Dwight Howard/Ron Artest
playmaker: Chris Paul
passing: Rajon Rondo
mid range shooting: Kobe Bryant/Pierce, but I might be biased
3 point shooting: Ray Allen and his 15 years of proof
all around scoring: Kobe/Dirk...Durant doesn't have the post game that these guys do
dunking: JR Smith, but this kind of pick is subjective to anyone
ball handling: Kyrie Irving
defender: Thabo for pure man to man defense
crossover: Jamal Crawford/Westbrook. Westbrook has one of the nastiest splits in the NBA
rebounder: Kevin Love, and it's not even close
shot blocking: Serge Ibaka, and Wade.
quickest: Russel Westbrook
fastest: LeBron, he chases down everyone
strongest: Reggie Evans just moves bodies
playmaker: Rondo and LeBron just make things happen
EDIT: I switch my ball handling pick to Steve Nash, because I realize it's not just what looks pretty, but how effective it is. Nash never picks up his dribble, and can still get anywhere on the court
passing: Rajon Rondo
mid range shooting: Dirk Nowitzki aka Jungle Fever
3 point shooting: Anthony Morrow (in the right system)
all around scoring: Melo/Kobe
dunking: Blake Griffin
ball handling: Chris Paul
defender: Overall? Lebron.
crossover: Jose Calderon (LOL just joking. It's Deron Williams.)
rebounder: Kevin Love
shot blocking: Serge Ibaka
quickest: Rose(?) (What's the difference between quickest and fastest? Seriously.)
fastest: Russel Westbrook(?)

playmaker: Steve Nash
This is a real list not just somebody who puts the stars:
passing: Rondo
mid range shooting: Nowitzki
3 point shooting: Rush
all around scoring: Carmelo Anthony
dunking: Gerald Green
ball handling: Ish Smith
crossover: J Crossover
rebounder: Evans
shot blocking: Serge Ibaka
defender: Howard
quickest: Ish Smith
fastest: Lebron
strongest: Pekovic
playmaker: Nash
You didn't prove you didn't pick stars, just that you vastly overrate Ish Smith
rebounder: Kevin Love, and it's not even close
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How is it "not even close"? Howard led the league this past year with 14.5 RPG to Love's 13.3 and he's also led the league in boards per game in four of the past five years. I can see people giving the slight edge to Love after his monster 2011 season but saying it's not even close is just ridiculous.
But Reggie Evans is? He's a great guy to bring off your bench and collect rebounds, but your saying Dwight Howard is not one of the 10 best rebounders in the league and Reggie Evans who's career average is 6.8 rpg is the absolute best?
It depend on how you assess a player and their skill set. For me I try to take away from a players natural gifts like athleticism and height. Love boxes out better, gets in better position, and fights for the ball more then Howard does. Without his crazy hops Howard might not be as good as he is on the boards, while Love on the other hand would still be a great rebounder. Rebounding isn't just a number
You're right. It is close, but I think Kevin Love has a better knack at grabbing boards, considering the lack of athleticism he possesses compared to a longer, much more athletic Dwight Howard.
TayTooSmooth_ your favourite player is Lebron right??? I like Lebron but its too much him on your list bro. Best playmaker Lebron? Don't think so. All round scoring?? You ever watched Kevin Durant play?? Best dunker?? Then you don't know who JR Smith is ;)
passing: Steve Nash - gets tons of assists without being surrounded by top talent
mid-range shooting: Kobe Bryant - hard to question; Dirk is 2nd
3-point shooting: Anthony Morrow - puts up a lot of threes and makes a lot of threes, although he had a little bit of a down season last year
all-around scoring: Kevin Durant - nobody puts up his volume of points with his efficiency; scores both in half-court and in open court in almost any scenario
dunking: Blake Griffin - powerful dunker for a big man
ball handling: Rajon Rondo - puts ball on string, is helped by huge hands and long arms
defender: Kevin Garnett - league's best pick and roll defender
crossover: Deron Williams - compact, quick crossover; doesn't get stripped often, but still gets separation from defender
Rebounding: Kevin Love - rebounds at a high level over extended minutes, which puts him ahead of Reggie Evans
Quickness: Aaron Brooks - plays like he is even smaller than he is
Fastest: LeBron James - doesn't run full speed as often as a smaller player would, but when he does, he is the fastest
Stongest: Reggie Evans - overpowers most opposing players; most physical player in league
Overall Playmaker: LeBron James - makes plays for himself and others at elite level
passing: Deron Williams
mid range shooting: Kobe
3 point shooting: Ray Allen
all around scoring: Melo
dunking: James White
ball handling: Joe Johnson
defender: Tony Allen
crossover: DWill/JCrawford
rebounder: K,Love
shot blocking: Dwight
quickest: Rose
fastest: Rose
strongest: LeBron
playmaker: D-Rose
Passing: Steve Nash - He's just an amazing passer and everyone loves to play with him. Regardless of who he's playing with, he'll make you a better player. He's just the total package as a passer to me.
Mid-Range Shooting: Kobe Bryant - His mid-range jumpshot is just amazing and from everywhere on the floor.
Three-Point Shooting: Steve Novak - He's a phenomenal shooter.
All-Around Scoring: Kevin Durant - He can score in every way imaginable and is very efficient. He's such a great scorer without being too high volume or putting a strain on his team's offense.
Dunking: Blake Griffin - In game and dunk contest... He's the best and most exciting to watch.
Ball Handling: Chris Paul - He's got the ball on a string and you can NEVER make him pick up his dribble. He consistently just puts on dribbling clinics.
Defender: LeBron James - I don't think he's the best on ball defender, but I think he's the best overall when it comes to on the ball, off of the ball, help defense and chase down blocks. For him to do what he does offensively and then bring it on the defensive end is special.
Crossover: Deron Williams - His crossover is so deceptive and powerful... I love it.
Rebounder: Dwight Howard - He put up 14.5 rebounds in a down year...
Shot Blocking: Serge Ibaka - He's far from a great defender, but he's an amazing shot blocker.
Quickest: Russell Westbrook - His quickness/first step is too much... I used to think a healthy Derrick Rose was quicker, but I'm just not sure anymore.
Fastest: Ty Lawson - End to end... I think he's got it. You can also put John Wall here.
Strongest: Chuck Hayes - Low center of gravity and he's strong as F.
Playmaker: Steve Nash - He still makes his teammates better than anybody else in the league in my opinion.
passing: Steve nash
mid range shooting: Kobe Bryant
3 point shooting: Shane Battier or Steve Novak
