NiceWithTheRockParticipantyeah perry jones is going off 14pts 5reb with 8:50 to play in the first. I hope he can explode in the big12/ncaa tournament and prove his doubters wrong.

seniokasParticipant21 and 8 after the first half 8/8 from the field. That’s already a good game, I doubt that he will play the second half ^^

Mr. 19134ParticipantC’mon guys where is the Perry Jones love? If he’d a had a terrible game there would of been of a ton of threads on here ripping this kid, now he puts in the best performance of his career and really nobody wants to talk about it? That it’s a little nutty guys…

StF616ParticipantLike I’ve said before multiple times man, Perry Jones can produce like this every game!
The biggest problem is really giving him the ball.
Pierre Jackson is a score first point guard who thinks he’s the best player on the team.
The thing is, he’s not. The previous game when jackson scored 35 they lost. When perry scored 31, they won.
The biggest thing i liked about this game tho was Jones got to the freethrow line, he was aggressive and didn’t shy away from contact, he also showed his range and ball handling.
If scott drew tells jones to be more aggressive and runs the offense through him, baylor will be a btter team.0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/08/2012 - 5:46pm #645410
Meditated StatesParticipantstop making him play this structured team game all the time and let the kid play like a star. Let him be aggressive force a few shots. Let hi handle the ba more and draw double teams so he can show his other skills. The team would be better for it.

omphalosParticipantAnybody else think Baylor wore "highlighter" jerseys tonight so that Pierre Jackson could see Perry Jones? Seemed to have worked out well. Jones didn’t get a chance to play in the post-season last year, so maybe we can finally see him break out and assert himself with the added motivation of getting a championship.

Future_Scoutpj3 said it himself after the game. HE was trying to be more selfish and take shots he knows he can make… you know how many times i’ve seen pj3 in the same situation he was today and failed at coming thru for bailer, pierre passes him the ball and he ends up doing nothing. pierre takes 9 shots at 479% and pj3 takes 11. marquis teague takes 8 shots, marshall 6… im not going to say pierre is always looking to create for others like he should, with such talents in his team, but he’s def not out there taking bad shots (even though i get a feel he likes to impress scouts). i like what i see from pierre going ham, they need him to be aggressive… he created about half of pj3’s shots today by blowing by his opponent, drawing dbl team, and dishing out.
buncha people here saying just pass him the ball as if he could do much on ISOs

omphalosParticipantIt’s not the number of shots Jackson takes, it’s usually the timing of them. I’ve seen times when Jones has had good position inside and instead of rewarding him Jackson decides to just take a jumper, or if the other team is on a run Jackson will start jacking shots to try and win the game. He definitely has a superstar mentality and shouldn’t be called a pass-first PG by any means.
That said, I think he could be a nice played off the bench at the PG spot, like JJ Barea, Isaiah Thomas and Nate Robinson. He’s an insane athlete and knows how to score on taller guys, would be great as a change of pace from a guy like Rondo, Rubio, Jason Kidd or Chris Paul who like to think more.

JoeWolf1Lets not get all European Baller after one good game. The guy has raw tools and size, but lets see how he does against Thomas Robinson. KSU is a quality team, but one that lacks an NBA post player. He may be putting it together, but this also may be a flash in the pan, Robinson owned him last time they played. If he can fare a little better tonight then maybe this is a sign of improvement, but one game is just one game.
