Baron Davis...
he looked turble! he put up the ugliest floater with carmelo somewhat open for three. he took bad threes, he's just a bad shot selector. and all this bad habits stick to other players, they wanna go out there and force bad shots too. he is a cancer to the knicks at this point imo, and to the development of lin
Remember though, Baron, JR and Carmelo only recently returned again so the team will need another transition for these guys. With the hectic schedule of this NBA season, it will take a couple of more games before we see what this team is trully capable of (they will either become part of the 'elite' or hurl into oblivion with Anthony taking the blame - we don't know for sure). They definitely have the talent and pretty good depth with JR, BD, Shumpert now so we'll see.
I do find it hard to believe that there is not a PG available in the D-League that could play better basketball than Baron Davis or Mike Bibby.
Even Vanilis Spanoulinininis would be an upgrade.
You mean like the way they found Lin?
I don't think we can judge Davis fairly at this point because he is rusty. But yes, he might be terrible. He really hasn't been a top level PG for about five years now (and no a few games in the 2007 playoffs does not make him an elite player even if he did win some important games). The guy is getting old at 32 and then injured. And he obviously is carrying a lot more weight than his listed 210.
Let's see how he is playing in a few weeks. Presumably it will be much better (right now the dude is shooting 8% from the field which is obviously just mindblowingly bad). But this is all just get the rust off time for Davis.
He's played 3 games, the good 10 asts the bad 7 to's and a lot of missed shots.
Might wanna give him a few games since he hadn't played in about 10 months.
Worst thing I ever heard about Baron is that he shoots too much, a cancer lol.
Let's not jump the gun on BD just yet, especially since the Heat were playing Ed Reed type defense out there and taking it to heart. I really enjoyed watching Chalmers/Cole get after the Knicks PGs.
I like all of you getting all riled up and defending BD. When is the last time BD was relevent? 2007? You guys act like he was putting up 20/10/5 last year. Yes I'm willing to write him off, sorry but I don't see any reason to think other wise.
who is worse between baron davis and mike bibby? they're both absolutely horrendous.
i know, i was thinking the same thing. but some people think he soon going to be throwing alley oops at amare
Baron has never been an effecient shooter, he has a career fgp around 41%, but he is good at running an offense and he is a good passer, just what the knicks need. I expect he will fit in pretty nicely with the Knicks. Btw he looks to be lighter than he has been in years.
I mean after all, this is a brand new team and a brand new system far different than the systems he played in during his stints last year with Los Angeles and Cleveland. Baron in my mind is still a good player and will need time to adjust. The NBA lockout and his untimely injury definitely did not help his cause. I think if we wait a few more weeks Baron Davis will begin to perform well with the Knicks' secondary unit and he and J.R. Smith will help add scoring to that Knicks bench.
"he is a cancer to the knicks at this point imo, and to the development of lin"
...20% usage rate, with 5 PER
Hey, he does make things happen out there. Threw a couple of balls into the stands today. But he also set up some dunks. And he hit his shots better. The rust is coming off. I've never been a fan, but with the rest of the weapons that the Knicks have and with D'Antonio's system, I bet we will see some big games from Baron Davis before the year is out.

He looked BAD tonight...might be time for him to call it quits. That whole Knicks second unit gave the game away on hustle plays. Weird game. No one really had that good of a game aside from Bosh...Lebron stuffed the stat sheet but didn't look overly impressive doing it.
