Will Baron Davis thrive in this new up tempo game Kim Hughes has put on the clipps. I think baron is alittle too old and broken down to get to those old hornets and warriors stats. Coach Hughes as added moree responsibility to barons game, as baron repeatelly stated was coach dunleavy problem.

Old?? I dont think that age can be an excuse anymore.. The best PG in the west is like 35, another great PG in the west like 36… Baron can still do his thing and I think he will thrive in it. Look at what he did for the Warriors in their up tempo offense.. Baron is the type of guy that wants more pressure put on him.

Baron relies on his athleticism alot more than Nash does though. Baron is more a scoring PG than Nash and likes to get to the rim with his size and athletic ability. Age will take a toll on his game much more than Nash’s. Nash’s game is built to play the game as long as he wants.

Nash uses his athletic ability a hell of alot more than you are acting like. He is super quick and gets to the paint to score alot of his points also. The fact that he isnt a dunker makes people think that he isnt athletic and that simply isnt true. Yes Baron gets to the rim to score but he is a smart PG who will thrive in this situation. Also, isnt he only like 30 or 31?? Also, the fact that he is so strong will compensate for any ability that he might lose. Example: Chauncy Billups….

I don’t see Nash getting to the rim like Davis does. Nash penetrates and dishes out where as Baron takes it to the hole strong. Nash probably if not the, then one of the smartest players in the league. He is quick, but he relies on his knowledge of the game where as Baron Davis is physically dominant over most PGs in this league. If Baron plays until Nash’s age, I guarantee you his skills will not be growing like Nash’s have with age, he will diminish and it will be at a pretty exponential rate. When he loses the vertical and speed he will no longer be nearly as effective as he once was.

In regards to Nash’s athleticism, the fact that he is still one of the quickest PGs in the league is not necessarily a normality. It is a credit to his incredible longevity. Most guys in the league can’t play at the level he is at that age. Don’t expect Baron to. Especially when his past has been filled with injuries and a physical beating.

I never said Nash got to the rim, I said the paint. Also, I dont see why he cant keep getting better. Right now, he has nobody on his team other than Kaman. When Gordon finally comes into his own and Griffin gets back, that will extend Baron’s career. I am by no means a Baron lover but I dont see age being an issue in today’s NBA. Chauncy still gets it done at a very high level. Nash, Kidd, Billups, Bibby, Fisher, Alston, and Miller are all starting PGs who are older than Davis and still get it done at a pretty high level…

I think with the tempo turned up davis will thrive like he did in golden state. Every time i hear his name i think of the dunk on andrei kirelenko (sp).
