jjonzParticipantThere have beem 3, IMO that are worthy of dominating the ball @ all cost even if my teams lose the game. MJ/Kobe/DWade. So if you can’t win without an Elite SG, how do you win with an effective but not quite Elite SG that Dominates the ball. i.e TEvans & M.Ellis

QuickpostbParticipantYou put a great PG next to them like Ricky Rubio…….then you have the cuteness of Rubio with the succulent lips of Tyreke.

omphalosParticipantI think people need to cut Reke some slack; he’s elite, he just is set back by injury at the moment, and a sophmore for God’s sake. Kobe wasn’t this good in his second year, and look how he turned out.

GrizzNationParticipantput them with a pretty good defensive minded point
reke with bayless
reke would handle the point guard responsibilities while bayless does what he does best….ok ok so bayless is a scorer but u get the drift, wade and chalmers has good chemistry because chalmers is a pg who is defensive minded and can hit open three’s, but wade is actually PG…..

fastdanParticipantBayless can’t shoot, so putting him next to reke probably wouldn’t go so well. I’d love to see Brandon Knight make his way to the Kings, but it probably won’t happen.

Tha_PrinceParticipantJordan, Kobe and DWade were ball dominant SG’s but they could disrupt on the defensive end as well, thats one of the keys to their championships.
Monta and Reke are not even comparable on the defensive end, Tyreke has potential to be a good stopper but Monta will never reach that with his size at SG.

eric palmerParticipantWhat about the situation the Spurs have going on? Manu is a fairly ball-dominant SG who can pass like a PG, while Parker is kind of a mix of a pure PG and a combo guard.
To a lesser degree even, what the Mavs have when Barea is on the court with Kidd. Barea handles the ball in nearly every non-transition opportunity, with Kidd playing on the wing and Barea handling pick’n’roll/pop plays with Dirk.
I don’t think there is any specific criteria for the PG playing with a ball-dominant SG though, as long as the PG doesn’t also require to have the ball in his hand a ton.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantMonta ellis is a pretty damnn good defensive player. he does average 2.2 steals per game, and has locked down some pretty good players. lets not forget he’s only 6’3 and weighs 183. Wasn’t he the guy that shut down derrick rose one night this season. that was probably the future MVPS best night. I just think the difference between the 3 guys and Reke and Monte don’t got that "It" Factor.

midwestbbscoutParticipantlabeling positions has always been smoke and mirrors to me…..its all about who you can matchup with and conversely how you can cause matchup difficulties for the oppositon….this is why versatility is THE most important quality in a prospect….
the only reason for classifying positions is to dumb sh*t down for the weak basketball minded….
