CDPHParticipantLooking at the guys who could potentially be available this off-season, how would you guys rate these players from most likely to be available to least likely to be available?

TRC1991ParticipantHard to consider Derrick Rose a superstar…16 ppg, 5 apg on a team that didn’t make the playoffs

BiggysmallsParticipantWithout getting too much into the semantics of "superstar" I agree. Don’t consider Randolph, Lopez or Rose superstars.
Hard to imagine Wall, Gasol, George and Griffin getting dealt. Think those teams would be really dumb to do so unless they are getting the No. 1 overall pick or something and even then it just seems silly.
I could see Irving or Love getting dealt only because Cleveland is a terribly run organization. Both of those guys just signed new deals, so trading them seems like a terrible business decision unless they are toxic behind the scenes.
Superstars are really hard to trade the only teams desperate enough to give up prime assets would likely be Boston and LA…if I’m a team with a superstar, why am I giving those teams the piece that puts them in contention?

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantNot likely to be available: Wall, George, gasol, griffin, Irving, Anthony
Could be available but not likely to be traded: Randolph, love, rose, Lopez
Likely to be available and good possibility to get traded: Cousins, Butler

Sharp ShooterParticipantI would like the pistons to grab Cousins in a sign and trade for Drummond. I do think that Cousins do need a change of scenary for him to change his attitude because Cousins been through hell with the Kings (bad management, bad rosters, bad coaches, no playoffs). As for Drummond he would be a nice asset for the kings and would have some nice pieces around him.
Cousins would do well in SVG 1 in and 4 four out style of play. And will be a good go to player down the stretch, and would fix the pistons woes of late game droughts.
Drummond gives the Kings a breath of fresh air and would allow them to rebuild around someone new, with a new energy.
Pistons would probably have to throw in a pick

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantAre you out of your mind? Why would Detroit want to take a chance on a crazy bastard when Drummond wants to be there?

Hype MachineI wonder if Drummond has tried hypno-therapy to help his free throw shooting.
Gotta be worth a shot.

MatosParticipantHate to see Marc Gasol wasting his prime years in non-contending Memphis. Even when healthy, the Grizz are at best as effective as the Hawks in the east around playoff time.
George only gets out if he wants out. Wall probably doesn’t even get out if he wants out. Wall is a consensus top 6/7 point guard (for the record hes personally in my top 5).
Ignoring your claim for "susperstars" as thats an entirely different discussion, Rose could be dealt. I dont see the Bulls giving up Butler. I think they’ll build around him and even revamp the roster before letting him go. That is unless the price is right (and I mean price has to be very right).
Cousins is available but Kings aren’t gonna trade him for nothing. Melo is available but it would have to be to a trade for young assets (players and picks) to get him outta NY. And that team he’s traded to has to be a contender. My guess is if LA pulls off a move for a superstar and can trade a top 3 pick, they may go after a player like Melo (similar to when the Cavs went after Love). Or if the Cavs dont win this year, dont be surprised if they dont reach out to NY.

HitsterParticipantMelo has a trade clause so it would have to be to a legit contender which could absorb his huge salary over the next 3 years, so that would limit possibilities. Also Melo is nearly 32 now and he has a contract in his favour until he will be 35 so a team would be making a big outlay on a player with a lot of miles on the clock.
Melo always wanted to get to the Knicks so to prise him away would be hard especially if he thinks the team can do something with Porz going foward.

Hype MachineGordon Hayward could be on the trade block too. He’s only got 1 year left on his contract and goes into Free Agency.
Anyone keen to make an offer for H2O? Could be a real nice piece on a fringe contender.
