I am a hawks fan, and I really like the topics posted about the hawks. Honestly, I love Josh Smith to death, and he is hands down, my favorite player, and in my opinion, most exciting to watch, but the way the played last season did NOTHING to help our cause. Many times when I saw him, he took countless jumpers that were unnecessary, when he shoulda done what he does best, and thats drive and draw fouls. But of course, his FT% was also atrocious. I think a focal point of work this summer for him is FT%. I think he should stop shooting threes, but instead work on a mid range game to go with his deadly drive. I think it will help him more. But anyways, back to the draft. I would really like it if Gani Lawai stayed in the draft, and we took him. He has sky high potential, and we can wait. I know Marvin Williams is not a PF, but he can still play there. I really like the idea of Sessions getting signed here, as it would be excited to see him giving back door passes to joe johnson, or alley oops to josh smith. I think we only go after him if we dont resign bibby, as he deservese to be a starter, and deservers starter money. With that said, our line would be: 1 1 - bibby/sessions, 2 - joe johnson, 3 - smith/williams, 4 - smith/williams, 5 horford, with acie, mau evans, lawai, pachulia being a solid bench, until lawai develops. I dont see smith or williams being long term players at the 4, so eventually, one will have to go, letting lawai step in to play. It seems everyone is criticizing horford, and saying he is an inadequate 5, but I think he is playing well, and is still young. He is a good 10 10 2 guy, which is all we need from him. Even tho those stats arent that good, hes still better then pachulia. Also, one other thing, I dont understand y anyone is hating on Dwight12. Now, everyone that is dissing him are veterens of this sight, and i have the utmost respect for him, but im new, and im trying to fight my urge to write all the topics that come to my mind, mainly because of the way you reacted to Dwight12. I think you guys are overreacting, and treating him harshly. He seems like a good person. If you dont like what hes saying, just stop reading and move on. I for one have no beef with him, and have no problem with him, and even kinda like him as a poster. This website is no place for arguments and name calling, but for debates. I know I sound like a lame, but c mon guys, lets stop it.
I'm just kidding. The way you feel about Josh Smith reminds me of how I feel about my favorite player Andrei Kirilenko.
Zaza is pretty awesome. If the Hawks are sold on Sessions/Bibby and Acie Law at the point guard position than Lawal would be a good pick. But I would go for Hansbrough or Blair if I was Atlanta.
it doesnt seem blair is gonna slide that far anymore with his rise, but i like blair.
whatsup man. lets talk ball. now i like said before the hawks need to focus on getting their point guard of the future. and i think they can get it a #19. you can go from lawson , maynor, teague, . either one will be a upgrade and sign of relief over acie law who hasnt played like hes supposed to. plus bibby is getting older. and as far the your lineup. here it goes next season pg-bibby/lawson sg-johnson/flip sf-smith/ marvin/evans/ pf-big al c-zaza/jon brockman
i dunno, im just not sold on zaza as a full time centre, but more of a bench player. I dunno, i just dont think hes tough enough, and for watever reason, i really like al horford as our center for the next ten years. Maybe im just crazy.
i have atl selecting ty lawson with its first.
I dunno about dalembert. He is commanding way too much money for wat hes doing on the court. Also, im from Canada, and I dont like what he did when he played for the national team. Selfish and immature
I also have them selecting jon brockman. The same as dwight12.
Horford can play center. People say he is a power forward because of his size but Alonzo Mourning was only 6'10".
but i rather put al at the four and get real center.
was way stronger than horford though. I would play him at Center too, and play a run and gun offense.
