This is based on how drastically players stock may rise or fall, as in, Wall’s stock isn’t changing despite his awesome measurements. These are the prospects that I think gained and lost the most.

    WINNERS
    1. Armon Johnson
Here’s a crazy thought: Johnson to the Pacers at 10? They are in desperate need of a PG, with Ford continuing to be impossibly bad and A.J. Price suffering an injury that will keep him out 4-6 months. Johnson now looks to have incredible upside to go along with his superb size. In terms of athleticism tests aiding a player’s stock, it’s hard to argue for anyone as the biggest benefactor besides the 6-3 Nevada PG (with a 6-8 wingspan), who recorded a 38.5″ max vertical and benched a ridiculous 18 TIMES.
    2. Trevor Booker
Measuring sub-6-8 hurt him, but man did he make up for it. Demonstrated great explosiveness with a 36″ vert and benched the bar 22 times, and his lane agility time was better than Aminu’s.
    3. Luke Babbit
Probably now a lottery lock after recording a 37.5″ vertical (same as Stanley Robinson), pumping the bar 15 times, and demonstrating the third-fastest lane agility speed.
    4. Terrico White
When scouts are doubting your shooting (34.3% 3PT) and PG skills (1.5 assists), what’s a great way to impress them? How about leaping 40″ and in turn the highest max vert at the combine.
    5. Lazar Hayward
Despite standing 6-5.75, Hayward continues to test off-the-charts in nearly every other field. His 36″ very is very impressive (remember he has a 7-0 wingspan, which helps his case as combo forward), benched 15 times, and his lane agility time was second only to John Wall.
    NOTABLE: Wesley Johnson.
He’s definitely a top 6 pick, and while his awesome vertical was to be expected, few thought the skinny, lanky Syracuse prospect could bench the bar 16 times and tie for the fastest full-court sprint.

    LOSERS
    1. Larry Sanders
Perhaps his ridiculous measurements lessened his motivation, because he tested astonishingly poorly. The supposed jump-out-of-the-gym-athlete recorded a terrible 28″ vertical (same as Cole Aldrich and lower than just about everyone else), benched just 7 times, and was similarly dissapointing in the lane agility drill and 3/4 court sprint. He’s in a battle with a lot of guys at his position with the same type of size and game, and could see his stock plummet.
    2. Charles Garcia
Very much on the bubble at this point, Garcia’s vertical maxed out at 30.5″ and he benched the bar the tied fewest times (2) of any player listed by ESPN, which is embarassing for a guy his size.
    3. Devin Ebanks
Is in very real danger of falling out of the first round after recording a max vert of just 32″ and a very unimpressive 3/4 court sprint. If he isn’t a superior athlete, he doesn’t have much going for him.
    4. Al-Farouq Aminu
Still a top-8 lock, but his reputation as a totally superior athlete was not helped by his 33.5″ vertical (lower than fellow SF Gordon Hayward).
    5. Sherron Collins
The Kansas PG’s lane agility time was faster than just three prospects: Slomon Alabi, Derrick Caracter, Keith Gallon and Larry Sanders.

Armon Johnson is an intriguing prospect, 6’3″, 6’8″ wingspan, 38.5 vert, and benicng 18x is all very impressive for him….i still think it’ll be a tiny reach, but I can see Johnson going as high as 10 to the pacers..

Ebanks and Collins doing nothing for there stock, and there both considerable good athletes…..slip, slip, slipping!

I wouldnt get too excited about these results.

Im sure Larry Sanders is alot more athletic then he showed.

Remember Monta Ellis… he had perhaps the worst combine testing of that years draft. He`s turned out to be very athletic.

Yikes, Sherron Collins had a bad NCAA tourney. He doesn`t seem to be a great floor leader that makes teammates better. He is a bit overweight for his size and now has finally tested poorly in the combine. I think there`s a chance he goes undrafted. His skill just isn`t high enough to make up for these other deficiencies right now. Maybe in the future.

There is also a huge difference between “in game“ athletic performance and basic testing. For some players, they can`t seem to get up for testing on these drills. When your all pumped and warmed up you can achieve a hell of alot more then you can from waiting while standing in line for these drills.

Look at this seasons dunk contest as an example. Shannon Brown had some truely sad dunks but we`ve all seen that dude get his arm pits at the rim on some put backs. Gerald Wallace also typically gets alot of vert in games but he needs to be “feeling it“ first before he gets going. Nate Robinson seems to be the type of player that could get off his couch and throw up a near max vert. It depends on the guy.

Armon Johnson to the Pacers I do think is kind of a reach, but I think he’s a 1st round lock for sure. His combine numbers were impressive, but they are very similar to Wayne Ellington’s and Jermaine Taylor’s last year( both picked between 24-32). The fact that he isn’t a pure point guard makes me question the Pacers choosing him to answer their point guard problems at 10. I could see Miami or Memphis picking him up in the mid to late 1st, maybe even New Jersey who really doesn’t have a backup for Devin Harris.

As for the biggest drop, I think it’s Solomon Alabi, his numbers were awful and although he does have a nice jumpshot, but he had the lowest vertical, the slowest lane agility and he tied 300 lb Tiny Gallon for the slowest 3/4 court sprint. I think his chance at being a 1st rounder are over.

Aldrich was hurt by his 6’9” in socks measurement and I was surprised he only repped 185lbs 10 times, but he is much faster than I thought he would be and over the years of watching him play he’s goes all out. His combine is all over the place, but when all is said and done his stock went down a bit, but not too much.

Monta Ellis had very bad results because he drank too much the night before the athletic tests. There was a report that he was drunk the night before and had a hangover when he did the tests so his results were terrible and did not have anything to do with what he can really do.

These results can be greatly affected by the conditions of the players at the time when they did the tests. If the players were injured, ill, or having a hangover, they would not do well.

I don’t think you can take these results too seriously, except as some reference data. I recalled someone pointed out that Damion James had much better results last year than this year, so these stats may not be accurate enough. I believe most team would have their own tests when they invite players to work out.

Also, athletic freak does not necessary translate into good basketball players.

If Devin Ebanks fall out of round 1, NY should move up and take him.

    I love his defensive ability

Sherron Collins will be fine and this draft that has some athletic combo guards really lacks a lot of point guard talent outside of John Wall and a hand full guys who will have to learn to be point guard. Collins despite a sub par tourney really improved his leadership and point guard skills this year, he single handedly bore the offensive load down the stretch in multiple KU games this year and led them to victory. I think he is still a mid second rounder despite his drills. He is very similar to Jameer Nelson and take a peek at these workout similarities.

    2004 Jameer Nelson – 5’11” socks 6.25 shoes 199 lbs 28.5 no step 33.5 max 10.95 agility 3.14 3/4 court sprint
    2010 Sherron Collins – 5’10.25” socks 5’11.75” shoes 217 lbs 27. no step 33. max 12.3 agility 3.2 3/4 court sprint

very similar atheltes and if you’ve seen Collins play he can probably dribble and record the same sprint and agility ratings while a lot of player would be significantly slower with the ball.

Armon Johnson=Marcus Banks. The Pacers don’t need a combo guard who isn’t a good shooter. They need to address their PG via trade or free agency. No guard in this draft besides Wall, who they’re not getting, will make them a better team. Johnson is physically gifted, but he has some serious questions. Watching him play he’s better suited for a playoff team where he can be a role player, not a lotto team expecting him to be the PG of the future.

Cole Aldrich is going to be a great big man for a team. He’s going to be an elite post defender in the NBA and a decent post scorer, damn the vertical leap tests and height measurements WITHOUT shoes.

totally, he dominated the defensive position at a high level of college basketball and he wears a size 17, so with shoes ( the only time he’ll be on a basketball court ) He’s 6’11.25” . He is a very coachable player and a self admitted people pleaser. I think he’s going to block over a shot and a half a game as a rookie.

Kevin Durant tested terrible at the combine (26″ no step, 33.5 max, 12.33 agility, 3.45 sprint NO bench presses) aka the worst athlete at the combine.
    how’d that work out?

    just saying…
