geothermalParticipantWho would you rather have?
i recently watch the Warriors Vs. Suns last night, saw how suns without nash stuggles on Offense and Got better in defense with the Addition of Scola, I know its the First game, but wow! Scola’s hands are so active, Scola and Gortat combined for 8 block shot and 3 steals,
Now with that game, i saw how Gortat dominates on Defense, He Got 5 blocks, and has active hands, although a drawback is his limited range, around the Rim only, like what Asik is, i see the two of them having the same game,
soo with that who would you rather have?

the I in winParticipantGortat is only 2 years older and makes 6.7 million compared to Asik’s 3 year/25 million, I take him.

HitsterParticipantAs a Suns fan, Gortat is the obvious choice but I forgot he was only two years older than Asik so long term and from a neutral viewpoint I’d still take him.

SiggyParticipantI’ll take Asik. He has all the makings of an elite C defender who can shut down the paint. He’s also come a long way offensively in one offseason with the Rockets working 1 on 1 with Carroll Dawson. I’d say just in the past few months he’s made more progress than he made in 2 yrs with the Bulls. I expect him to be a double double guy, one of the best C rebounders in the league while making one of the All-Defensive teams as early as this yr.

TallmanNYCParticipantAsik. Better defender and I want defense from my center. Neither can initiate offense and I don’t think they will ever have that skill. Both can finish at the rim if set up by a good passer. Gortat is older but has better physical skills. He’s also probably the better all around player in some ways. But I mainly want defense from my center and the edge goes to Asik. You can game plan around limited offensive skills in a center as long as he knows how to hang around the rim and finish dump off passes. That’s enough on the offensive side to not be a liability.

iguapops420ParticipantGortat, better offensively. He actually haas range that he showed in some pick and pop with Nash last year.
