llperez"but come on man, if you are gonna cry dont hide behind a towel", that sounds like a guy who hasnt had their dreams and heart broken. Smith and every senior who knows their college career is over can cry if they want and do it however they want.

llperezi cried after my last playoff game of my senior year of highschool, and thats no where near as dramatic as someone playing in college in front of millions. The last game of your senior year means something and if you feel like crying then so be it. I promise you 67 locker rooms will have guys crying. You put 4 years into something and it ends so adrubtly. One day there is no more practice tommorow, its just time to move on. Its an emotional moment.

Ghost01Participanti feel for Nolan, but at least he has a shot at the next level. Think of all the seniors who wont be able to play another game and the emotion of when there season ends. Im not the crying type, but i can certainly understand it. Zona was red hot…i expect them to be Kemba-d in there next game.

burningfloodParticipantI’m going to get a bunch of negatives for this, but I’m a pissed off and sad Duke fan. I don’t even know why I’m on here, given all the Duke hate and Pac-10 love; it’s like watching your arm get cut off and then rubbing salt into it.
I thought the whistles all went Arizona’s way while they were making that push right after the half. There were a bunch of questionable foul calls on the offensive end against Duke that were called as defensive fouls on the other end against Duke. After the damage was done, aka after you had Singler with 4 fouls and the momentum all with Arizona, the refs started giving Duke makeup calls, but by that point the crowd was in it, Arizona was feeling it, and Duke was clearly rattled.
I’m extremely bitter and biased right now, which leads to this angry rant, but isn’t blaming the officials what every pissed off fan does?
I feel for Nolan Smith and Kyle Singler and all the other seniors on that team, Kyle especially. He was loyal in this day and age of one and dones, had the final four MOP last year and still came back for his senior season even though he would probably have been drafted higher if he had gone pro. And I was really hoping Coach K could’ve gotten his record-passing wins in this tournament, because it would’ve meant even more if he broke the record getting to the title game instead of getting the record against some cupcake next season.
I guess it’s congrats on the win, and I hope Kemba and the Huskies knock the sh*t out of Arizona when they play. Didn’t like UConn before, but I hate Arizona with a passion now.

NickWayne87Participantbeen a one and done himself he was a surfire lotto and a projected top 5 pick that year if you don’t remember……he got a title out of it one year but he’s messed his money up

OhCanada-ParticipantDerrick Williams is the best player in this draft. He actaully showed some SF skills in that game which really amazed me.
Kyrie Irving isnt even the best PG, he is extremely overrated, needs another year badly.

OhCanada-ParticipantWhat makes him the safe pick, safer then Wlliams? What is so good about him honestly, he is a fundemental driven gaurd, who is quick, gets to the rim well, and has good range. He is a player who is well rounded but not great in any parts of his game other then the open floor. He has good potential but he seems like a cross between Conley and Miller to me.

OhCanada-ParticipantThats exactly why I compared Irving to Conley and Miller…because he wont be great. Not because of fully skillsets. Williams is nothing like Jamison in the most exact of ways…I mean nothing. Also Jamison was a very very good player for Washington, and will have his jersey retired there. That is a pretty good player your comparing him too.

Malik-UniversalParticipanti was telling some people that williams can play SF at the next level

The lake show2Why do people try to say padding stats when a player is playing hard and still tryna win. Then if the player doesn’t do that people say the player is giving up. So what should the player do kinda score and kinda give up? If you’re the coach and you’re team is down 14 with 3min to play do you tell you’re player " don’t play as hard because you’ll just be padding stats". Its not padding stats its continuing to fight
I’m still curious as to can Derrick play SF. He didnt really show if he could or not handle wise( no dribbling past a PF/C in plumlee a couple of times doesn’t prove he can play SF in the NBA). But even if he can’t i have no doubt he can play PF in the NBA and produce like Al Harrington

HitsterParticipantIf Derrick Williams could have as long and consistent NBA career as Antawn Jamieson then he’ll be considered a good draft pick wherever he goes. Can’t say I’m sad to see Duke go out although for Coach K to have got the record in a major game would have been cool.
Williams is cementing his place at the top of the draft and surely Kemba Walker will be moving up the draft boards quickly.

delfamParticipantFor Irving, I think people are so enamored with this new breed of PG like Westbrook and Rose and all there athleticism. He is fundamenetally driven and well-rounded which is exactly what you want from a PG. If you look at past champions none of them have had that elite PG like a Westbrook or Rose, if you look at those championship PG’s they more resemble a guy like Irving then Rose.
He might not be the most dynamic player, but I think he’ll win championships cause of his playstyle.

The lake show2I like the comparision between Jamison and Williams. Can shoot, wont over power you bu pretty athletic and might can slide to the three on occassion

Ghost01ParticipantHow is Derrick Williams a sure fire pick? Because of this tourney? He hasnt gone up against 1 NBA big yet…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/25/2011 - 7:12am #513558
The lake show2That Euro guy is a NBA big from USC. Pretty much no College big goes up against any NBA big when they are in college.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/25/2011 - 7:17am #513561
Ghost01ParticipantNo I meant in the NCAA’s. And thats not true at all. And if it is true, it just further shows that collegiate success almost never guarantees success in the NBA.

delfamParticipantWilliams needs to lose some weight, if he did that he’d gain some quickness and might be able to play SF. I think he’ll slip alittle in the draft(about to #5), just cause GM’s don’t think he’ll be able to play SF.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/25/2011 - 7:42am #513566
The lake show2Mason Plumlee,USC big, Morris Twins,C.J Leslie,Josh Smith. All those guys will be bigs in the NBA so yea he has gone against NBA bigs. You don;t need to lose weight to gain quickness. All he needs to do is do excercises to improve quickness and i dont really think he needs to do that because he is already pretty quick. He seems to be at least as quick as Marvin Williams. He shouldnt have much probablem at the PF position though. 6’9 245 with long arms is not small for a NBA PF.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantDWill has been showing SF skills all year.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 03/25/2011 - 9:52am #513632
The lake show2Driving past Big men isn’t showing SF skills. Neither does Shooting Jumpers unless he is creatign alot of them. He has shown enough skills where scouts are writing " yes he can definatly Play SF" or enough where Arizonia has used a big line up with him playing SF or with him running the offense from the top of the key or bring the ball up and running the offense. Its more than just going ocast to coast once in awhile or hitting a jumper or driving past big men
