I have been thinking about this for a while. Shouldn’t a team which has early picks in both rounds go for both Arizona players (Aaron Gordon and Nick Johnson)?

I really think that drafting two college teammates who know each other pretty well would be a smart decision by one of the teams that fulfills the requirements. Furthermore, both Aaron Gordon and Nick Johnson are predicted to be drafted at those spots.

The teams I am thinking of are:

    – Utah Jazz (5th and 35th pick)

    Philadelphia 76ers (10th, 32nd and 39th picks)

Denver Nuggets (11th and 41st picks)

    Minnesota Timberwolves (13th, 40th and 44th picks)

Obiously, chances are that Aaron Gordon will not fall so low as to the 13th pick but he would be the perfect fit for the Wolves and Nick Johnson will be probably available yet at those second round looks and could be a great back up to Ricky Rubio.

    What are your thoughts guys?

I don’t think that teams will pick a player just because they went to college together.  now the brother relationship seems to happen from time to time.  Griffens, Morris.  However if they are the BPA and are from the same school that is probably just a small little bonus but they won’t make a decision to pick a player because they went to the same school.

Not just because they went to college together. Of course teams have to like them enough so as to draft them, that is for sure. What I meant is that if one of the teams mentioned like what they see about these players during workouts, maybe they should have a look at the possibility of drafting them both. Just seeing the fact of having been playing together in college as a plus. The chemistry would be already there and could bring the team that drafts them a good boost from the 2nd unit off the bench.

I’m an Arizona fan, but they haven’t been translating to the NBA lately.
