JM40ParticipantAnyone think that any of these NCAA players are NBA prospects……
Marshall Plumlee-great size and athletic ability
Fred VanVleet-leading the only undefeated team in the nation
Joe Harris-great shooter, niche player possibly?
Frank Kaminsky-great shooting big man, stretches defense
Scottie Wilbekin-tough, heady PG who knows how to win
LeBryan Nash-inside/outside athlete, not much of a shooter

JM40ParticipantAdd anyone else you think might fall into this category……..

TarHeelRavenParticipantJoe Harris is an NBA player I think. I belive he has really underrated athleticism. He can finish in transition and has fairly good quickness. He’ll make a team with his shooting. Marhsall Plumlee?? Are you kidding me?

Chilbert arenasParticipantPlumlee- no, he had a tough time cracking the rotation on a team that desperately needed a presence in the paint.
LeBryant Nash- People thought he could have been a one and done but showed little perimeter skills and now has found a roll in the 15ft and in range but that doesn’t seem to be what GMs want from the 3 spot. He really is going to have to work on the long range shot if he wants a chance but it will most likely have to be after another year at OSU.

MopgrassParticipantEveryone is commenting on Marshall Plumlee as not being good enough. I’ve caught Duke a couple times and if he entered the game, I didn’t notice. Is he that bad or just an unknown?
Without knowing much about him other than his family, I assumed Duke didn’t play him much because they wanted to hold onto him for another year. Is it that or is not so skilled?
I feel like Duke might be the top team if they had a rebounding rim protector. My question is: is Duke saving him or avoiding him?

CodySLCParticipantWhy would Duke be saving him when they’d easily be a final four team with a post presence inside?

Tdvols123ParticipantJordan McRae- 7’0 wingspan at 6’5 great length for a 2. NBA 3-point shot and leaping ability.

DunksNJordans23ParticipantI have actually played with Fred VanVleet numerous times. Years ago I would say no but as long as I’ve played against him he has gotten better every year. He’s obviously a four year guy, I think with more team sucess the next couple of years he has the potential to be a high 2nd round draft pick.
Sorry for going off track. Could he play in the league? I think he could once he concludes a 4 year college career because I have seen him improve every year.

Kleb2424ParticipantAbsolutely can play at the next level. Why he doesn’t get tons of minutes is beyond me. Duke plays better when he’s in. I do suspect he will play more come tourney time. He should if Duke wants a real chance at winning this year. The problem with him not getting many minutes is that all these fans think he’s no good because of lack of PT, but he can play. At the college level he can be a game changer, in the nba he’ll be a rebounding big off the bench. And he will be in the league someday.
Scottie Wilbekin should be in the league too. He has the size, the athletic ability, the defense, and he has proven he develops good. His game has improved every year at Florida. I know I’d take him at least as a backup for now. You cannot underestimate his defense. He is definitely pro worthy.

JoeWolf1I think they’re all prospects, but all 2nd round prosepects, with the exception of FVV. I think after 4 years, he can be a guy who could be a borderline late 1st early 2nd round pick.
I’m probably least sold on Plumlee, but just because I haven’t seen much of him. Everytime I catch a Duke game he’s not getting big minutes. That being said, he has two more years and with his genetics, I have a hard time thinking he won’t at least be a big athletic guy a team will bring off the bench.
Kaminsky is a guy I’m less sold on too, because he’s big and slow, but has a lot of skill. He can step out and nail a 3, and could probably be a similar player to Brian Scalabrine in the pros. At the worst he’s like another Badger Brian Butch, who was always a guy who killed it in the D-League, but didn’t quite have the speed to get stick with an NBA team.

timinator1ParticipantSeems like he fits into the Manu/Joe Johnson role as a 2guard/SF tweener. I can see him in the league.

Tdvols123ParticipantAt 6’3 he doesn’t have size to guard an NBA 3, or even an NBA 2 for that matter. I think he’s a hell of a college player, but to make it in the league he’ll have to be a point and thus improve the PG aspects of his game a ton.

TarHeelRavenParticipantIf Plumlee is barely getting any run this year on a Duke team that DESPERATLEY needs a post presence, how much run is he going to get next year once Jahlil Okafor comes to Durham?

ncballerI saw Marshall Plumlee play in high school a lot. His brothers were legit. But Marshall was a spaz who could barely run in a straight line. I couldn’t believe he was a division 1 prospect let alone a burger boy. It must be the family name. He has improved some but is still a fouling machine and a spaz. The NBA and his name should never be in the same sentence. Now his teammate Amile Jefferson is one of the most efficient players in the ACC. As a post I can see him making a roster. MP3 will be back on the bench when Okafor gets to Durham.

TRACYSPOONParticipantLebryan Nash I believe is a legit prospect. He is playing on a team where they have Marcus Smart dominating the ball, Mr. Brown and Forte are getting their shots, and sometimes he’s lost in the shuffle. The man can play ball and will be better suited for the NBA. Mark my word!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moon RiverParticipantKaminsky has come a very long way, but he is not strong enough to play inside and not quick enough to play outside. He has Euro league written all over him. Like many other past Badger big men.

Tdvols123ParticipantOne guy that I’ve loved since the start of last season is Cleanthony Early. Obviously, he’s going to get drafted, but I see him soaring to mid-1st round and maybe even slipping in the lottery. His game reminds me of Kawhi Leonard and I think he can be that kind of player (3-point threat, with good length and defensive potential) given the right fit like Kawhi has. I look for his stock to continue to rise as the Shockers get more national TV airtime.
