My opinion, disagree talk your bs let me hear what you have to say.
Archie Goodwin: Basement- Terrance Williams Impact. Ceiling- Dwyane Wade(hate to use it from miami 2) Elite Two Guard.
Sorry for such the ugly basement/ceiling comparison it's so hard to tell with Archie Goodwin due to the fact that at this juncture of his college career he shows a very low level of basketball iq. Not finishing fast breaks, bad shot selection, careless with the ball, and tunnel vision. Seems on the smaller size for a sg but has long arms and rare athleticism which could offset the issue.
Great athlete, can make highlight reel finishes due to his athleticism. Very adept on getting into the paint. Shows a knack for getting to the stripe. Has alot of room to grow on the defensive end, he has a good motor just needs to dedicate himself to that end. Very young. Plenty of room to grow.Shown that he can play some 1 guard but I believe his future is at the 2.
Due to his mental make up it's hard to predict what he will become but I lean toward a very good SG in the league. I think if he falls into the right situation where he has a decent coach who can help him develop then the sky is the limit. I see within 3 years potential for a 20/5/5 type player but it's all up to him.
It's kind of irritating hearing every combo guard get compared to DWade when DWade is not undersized and has the size of a small forward -_- for Archie his athleticism is really the closest trait to Dwyane and that's really it; he can't pass it like DWade who played point guard early in his career nor can he play under control; I was watching the Tennessee-Kentucky game and they were talking about Archie needs to slow down and develop a pace.
DWade size of a small forward?^lol hes considered undersized for a SG at like 6"4.75. What? I mean I get that he has a Sf's wingspan at like 7 ft. but he definitely ain't the size of a small forward..
Look at his dimensions and his weight; he's also got a huge standing reach siggy will tell you all his measurement
Dwade was measured 6' 3.75" without Shoes , 6' 4.75" with shoes ,8' 6" standing reach and 6' 10.75 wingspan
Archie Goodwin on the other hand was 6' 3.5" ,6' 5" , 8' 4.5" ,6' 10"
Honestly I don't think Wade is undersized for SG but he doesn't have a size for a SF ,Goodwin is also not far inferior to him
Archie is only 18 and wont turn 19 til August its possible like Harkless last year that hes not done growing. He got a very nice looking stroke wit a high release point and shoots efficiently.
I really wish hed get a chance to comeback n shine as a soph. I think considering his age n tools that he has as much potential as any SG in this class. He actually reminds me of a Steve Francis type.
yes it's very possible he will be 6'6 6'11 wingspan in year or two..and 210lbs plus..
adding his athleticism and handles agressiveness, and ability to playmake when he will slowit down..plus defensive potential..
you have a full package, still don't know who i would take him or McLemore and absolutely don't understand why one is #1 on this site(he is good but that high- overrated) and the other hardly in the lottery (underrated)
and talking about Wade's size yes he is great at SG i would rather have 6'5 with 6'11winspan and strong 220 body than skinny 6'6 6'7.. but talking about SF no way he has legit size of them, i mean i am not even talking about LeBron's 270pounds or Durant's 6'11 with 7'5 wingspan..
guys like Aminu 6'9 7'3 arms Kawhi 6'7 7'3 arms others are stong like Artest Melo Wallace Pierce all are 240 plus..even young guys like Barnes 6'8 230, or MKG who is THE youngest player in the NBA and already measured 6'7.5 232lbs that means he will be another physical spicemen at the position at 6'8 245-250 in the future
it's like saying that Muhammed has elite size for SF , yes in my opinion he is one in years size wise if he can play SG full time couse he might be 235-240 Joe Johnson type of huge guard with maybe less height but 7feet winspan..
but for SF being 225 19yo is good but not great nor is his length too..
I love Archie Goodwins game, he reminds me of Russell Westbrook far as how they play the game, just super aggressive and always attacking, his problem is he looks selfish but I think that's just his competitive nature, just like Westbrook as well.
The first time I seen him play against Maryland, I knew he was a special talent, I don't see too much Wade in him, honestly I don't see Wade in him at all, I see more Westbrook than Wade, but he's no Westbrook clone either.
