Jimmer Fredette. I think we all knew it since voting took place before the tourney. Who’s gonna take the Naismith trophy though? Kemba or Jimmer?

Jimmer gets my nod because Kemba has way more talent around him than Jimmer did. Kemba will be the better pro, but Jimmer was the better college player this year.

    Im going with Kemba…….

    Maui Tourney MVP 30ppg 3.3 RPG 3.4 APG…Championship Winners

Big East Tourney MVP 26ppg 4.2 APG 6.4 RPG…..Championship Winners

    NCAA Tourney so far….. 26.7 ppg 6.7 APG 5.2 RPG……Final Four(STILL PLAYING!!!!!)

I understand Freddette wow’d everyone with his scoring ability and long range 3’s etc…..but Kemba is the better player, he took UCONN who was unranked and a team with unexperienced players and turned them into winners…..he is a true leader he gave these boys confidence and now look how they’ve turned out.

Fredette is good but he failed to win the MWC and yes I understand they lost a key part to their team, but if Freddette was as good I think they still could have pulled it out, and his inability to play defense also doesn’t do it for me as well.

The reason I dont give Fredette a pass for not winning the MWC is because of this…..

Fredette was in a league where only 3 teams made it to the tournament…..Kemba’s league had 11…ELEVEN teams go…..so night in night out Kemba is battling against top competition, good guards(Wayns,Fisher,Stokes,Jardine,Waiters,Siva,Brooks,Hansbrough,Hardy and like at least 5-6 other guards you can list)

Freddette honestly did not see that competition night in night out….He had nights where he could rest…such as games against TCU(11-22) Wyoming(10-21) Utah(13-18) Air Force(16-16)

The only team I saw Kemba and the Huskies whoop easily each time was Depaul…

Kemba should have won this award and should no doubt win the Naismith Player Of The Year Award.
