I really luv watching the T-Wolves young team…. Towns & Wiggins are so good….. Anyway, I felt like Minnesota played a really strong game…… & GSW cruised to a relatively easy win….. While scoring 129 points….. GSW plays phenomenal team defense…. & what else can we say about Steph Curry…. It’s Poetry watching Curry play the game…. 46 points 8 /13 from 3pt range….

Actually pretty poor game by GSW imo. They clearly chilled a lot on defense and the team as a whole were missing a lot of open 3’s. Golden state would have had 140+ in regulation if they were shooting well as a team. Curry was amazing as usual though

On the timberwolves side, Towns and wiggins had pretty good games. Towns was actually able to guard Curry on several possessions at the 3pt line. he is going to be so good. Lavine as PG is trash as we found out last year. But one positive is that he has improved his defense a lot in the last few games. He still gets hammered by screens due to lack of strength/no awareness but he can at least stay in front of his man now.

One thing about this T Wolves team is, SHOULD they be this good now?

I would think they could use another top 5 pick, and now this doesn’t look possible.

If they can stay healthy and if their young core can continue to improve, then the T Wolves should be able to hold on to a 6-8 seed.

If Wiggins can establish himself as an alpha first option, then these guys have TONS of upside.

I was thinking he might be more of a 2nd or third option, same with Towns.  BUT, if Wiggins can be THE MAN then Towns should be good enough as a 2nd option.  Those two and Rubio form the Big Three with Lavine as their 4th guy.

I think they still need another guy, maybe trade Pek or use Dieng to move up in the draft.  Or Shabazz Muhammed.

So, if Wiggins is a 2, which I thought that, ideally, he should be then they need a top shelf small forward.  To me, Towns is a 4.  So, get a great small forward and a center to complement Towns and they will be all set.

Teams can only pay four guys, five tops, so right now they have Wiggins, Towns, Rubio, and I am guessing LaVine.  That leaves enough room for one more guy, at the most, basically.

Ok, I looked through the mock draft, and it doesn’t even look like the T Wolves HAVE a first round pick.

So what I would do is get one more guy for the Core Four.  Rubio, Wiggins, Towns, and one other guy.  Keep Lavine as a guy with 6th man potential.  If Shabazz and Dieng don’t show enough potential I would package these guys for good picks.

The Sixers have lots of first round picks.  What about a trade of Shabazz, Dieng, and the 53rd pick for 19, 25, and 40?

The Sixers get a good option at small forward, Joel Embiid insurance, and a late second round pick.

The T Wolves get a bit younger and cheaper.  They get a shot at getting a 4th or 5th option without overpaying with the picks at 19 and 25.  At 40, they can get a 3 and D rotation type player or an extra shot blocker.

It really helps both teams…. Considering where Phila was just 2+ years ago, I have no idea how they have this many 1st round picks (when they had Nothing to trade)….. But they are in a position where there is No way they could possibly fit this many 1st round picks on their roster…..

The Sixers are basically empty at SF & SG (other than Grant & Stauskus) so Shabazz would fit Perfecttly in a rotation there…… & Dieng would be an excellent back up in a rotation w/ Okafor & Embiif at the Center position….. The 53rd pick could be a European or S.American stash & Develop player…..

& The T-Wolves side they could either use those picks – & hope to hit on a Jimmy Butler type mid to late `1st round…… or package them (w/ their own) to possibly move up & land a Legit #3 scoring option & really Both teams would be set to just Develop & fill in pieces here & there…..

They had a pretty easy schedule and have now lost their last 3 games. A top 5 pick is definitely possible, especially if rubio continues to take time off.

"Teams can only pay four guys, five tops"

Wtf? Do you understand how salary cap and CBA works at all?

Shabazz, Dieng, towns, wiggins, lavine are all on the rookie contract for another few years. And they can keep everyone since they drafted them and have their bird rights. This means they can exceed the salary cap if they are willing to pay luxury tax. That being said, the cap is going to increase by like 20 million next 2 years and they will have a tonne of cap room with all these rookie contracts

Wolves look great with Rubio, but really struggle without him.  He’s become so underrated.

so far lavine has been outshined by rubio and the team production w rubio is much better, but that being said i have been more impressed with muhammad then anyone else on the t-wolves so far this year,at least as far as compared to what i expected to see.

Lavine cant run an offense, he is a 2 guard I dont know why they keep making him play the 1. He looks completely braindead out there at PG
