Charlie SheenParticipantKnicks get- Chris Paul and Trevor Ariza
Hornets get- OJ Mayo, Landry Fields and Chauncey Billups + 2016 and 2018 1st Roud Picks and 3 mil cash
Grizzles get- Ronnie Turiaf, Toney Douglas and Bill Walker
The Hornets get 3 solid guards in Mayo/Billups/Fields and 2 future 1st they also get major cap relief by letting go of Ariza opening the possibility of Amnestying Okafor giving them major cap room in 2012
The Grizzles are looking to get a back up Center, solid combo guard and scoring 2 guard Turiad, Douglas and Walker fit each need for them, I know they have Selby but he doesnt fit the defensive mold of the Grizzles team and could fall into trouble if he doesnt D-up this year
The Knicks get their guy of course and can now make moves with their exceptions they give up 5 core guys from last years team but you do what you have to do to get a Star, Shumpert can take Douglas’ role, they can sign Deshawn Stevenson who fits the 2 Guard mold their looking for, Ariza can play the Wilson Chandler role and they can go after Ajinca who I think will thrive in a wide open offense, Paul-Stevenson-Anthony-Stoudemire-Ajinca and a bench of Shumpert-Ariza-Williams-Jordan would be great for them solid D and a great O and new beginning

rileymcshea3ParticipantHornets can find better then that…… That trade doesnt really set them up for the future

aamir543ParticipantTo be honest, its not a terrible trade, but I think for one that the Hornets can get better than Mayo, Fields and Buillups, and that the Grizz can get better than Turiaf, Walker and Douglas. I know Douglas is a promising player however the Grizz have enough one guards, they need some guys that can defend the two, and I don’t think Bill Walker is productive enough to split time with Tony Allen.
Nice try, but let’s face it, the Knicks are screwed, they gave up way too much to get Melo, and now not only do they have zero depth, they have no assets, or picks.
The Clips worst offer is better than this, which is Bledsoe, Aminu, Jordan, Kaman and the Minny pick for paul and whatever big contract guy the Hornets give up.

TyroberParticipantWhy would Memphis do this?

meisi4Participantnot awful but some questions:
why would memphis do this?
the trade isn´t awful for the hornets but it also definatly isn´t the #1 option for them…
new york trades away another two first rounders? do the knicks ever want to draft again? i mean i could see them doing it… but it won´t be clever to trade away every draft pick till 2025 imo…

larbear260Participantthe grizzlies organization is not stupid

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantThe Grizzlies almost Mayo to the Pacers for Josh McRoberts…Turiaf,Walker and Douglas are better than McRoberts…Come to think about, why would they even consider that trade last year…makes you wonder…
‘Anyway’
This trade is horrible but the Knicks are the front runner’s in any deal because Chris Paul can always just refuse to sign an extension…I think the Clippers are well,The Clippers, and they have the option of stepping in and offering that proposed deal of Bledsoe/Kaman/Aminu and the Wolves pick, but it would likely set them back, as the Hornets have to demand Gordon as well and that kills the deals for LA…Paul is a mortal lock to play in New York…Howard is a wildcard but I think he’ll be a Free Agent…The trades for Howard have been all over the place and flat out ugly, so I think the Magic hold on to him until next summer…
