Hey guys, I made a breakdown/scouting video of Andrew Wiggins and his current strengths and weaknesses. Let me know what you think and thanks for watching.

Would maybe wait for a few games, though you get some good points in after a single game. Hoop-math.com is amazing, but what I will say is that it is based off of raw box score data as opposed to actual "midrange jumpshots". Wiggins actually was pretty decent on catch-and-shoot jumpers, particularly on those where he was unguarded. So, I think the shot you point out off of the flare screen was more than acceptable. He definitely did force a few and obviously it would be great if he had more instinct in the post to take a hook shot as opposed to a contested fade.

Also, some of the shots did not have to be "forced" by other players if you see the shot clock. Rubio was not forced too take that jumper, he has too take that wide open look. It may not be as high percentage as that dump off, though Hibbert takes up so much space and David West was sneaking over too help. Dieng could have maybe gotten it over to Young, who knows, but I do not think that was a terrible misread. At the very least, he has yet too turn it over in his two games thus far. Definitely needs to work on his reads and you are right about his being a tad awkward in isolation, though this is doable.

To me, the thing that made Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady so damn dangerous at their height was the midrange jump shot. They were guys you almost had to give space too due to their prowess off of the bounce, yet they would make you pay dearly. That is very important for Wiggins and while I agree that they should not be the majority of his shots, this will be a vital part of his offensive repetoire and is every bit as workable as his long range game. On the defensive end, the "helping one pass away" was likely a scouting thing, as he probably did not respect Hill as a long range threat (paid off). Agree with you in theory, but it is like poker, you have to play the man as opposed to just playing the cards.

Really liked how you pointed out how he kept the ball alive on the offensive glass, he has crazy instinct and ability in that area. For as much as he watches the ball on defense, you have to keep an eye on both in your peripheral. Guys who watch only their man get killed as well, though I think you made some good points at times where he was caught in a bad position (the backdoor cut, not boxing out the FT shooter). It is obvious that you have high regard for him as a prospect as well, though just wanted to point some things out that I saw in your video. Keep it up and keep looking at all of the angles.

Plus one for the focus, insight, and professionalism…The effort seems a bit wasted, however, because your summarizing his skillset off of just one game…This would be better if you were examining his entire preseason, or at least a larger sample of footage…Still its very well done, and you should probably submit it to Draft Express–cuz they’d probably give you job…nice work
