Do you think Andre Drummond will make teams regret on passing him like amare stoudamire did in 2001? I know its too early too say but Andre was very impressive in the summer league. He showed a sweet shooting stroke as he was hitting stepback jumpers, floaters, and threw down some vicious dunks, on defense he blocked a good amount of shots and rebounded well also. These players are similar because they both were drafted #9, was physically a man child at 18, they both didn’t dominate their competition like many predicted, and both showerd a laid back attitude as amare didn’t dominate the AAU league and Andre looked like he didn’t have the fire. Of course amare has found his fire and is an all star but if Andre finds it how good do you think he will be, and will those 7 other teams(except new Orleans) regret passing on him?

No he will be a Deandre Jordan type. Everyone wants him to be good so bad because they love that size athletisicim combo but he just isn’t that type of player, I know its not a popular opinion.

Bfree I have to disagree deandre Jordan at that age was nothing but a dunker, now at 23 he’s still the same type of player, Andre has a nice jumper, nice touch, even though he struggles at the free throw line his mechanics are nice he just need reps

For sure he wont have the kind of impact that Amare had in his rookie year but from what I saw, if he will work consistently he can be special in 2-3years. He missed some rebounds in Orlando but he’s only 18 and the sky is the limit for him.

True 5’s are really valuable so i think they will. His athleticism is ridiculous of his size. Even if he air balls free throws.

Amare actually did dominate AAU when he played and Amare didn’t have a laid back attitude in H.S he had a "I’m going to bang on you every time" attitude. Drummind is nothing like him and would have gotten his lunch taken if they faced off at the same stage. Drummonds career most likely will mirror Deandre Jordan’s with less explosion because he isn’t as aggressive.

I think Favors is a better comparison because they were similiar age coming in and they both did not show that much in college.  Also I think Amare was close to 20 when he was drafted out of high school so Drummonds has a little bit more time to see if that works but I dont see Amare in his game.

i agree with b free 100% bring on the negs i don’t care what andre drmmond does in summer league just remember hasheem thabeet 15 ppg 10 rbpg 4 blocks…. i don’t see drummond being better than deandre jordan. Drummy looks lost on the court, i’ve watched near 15 uconn games on TV, besides a nice monster dunk here and there, i don’t see anything special about the kid. He’s just a physical speciemen which makes all the prospect fan boys nut their pants

those who are saying that Drummond is not like Amare… its a really bad comp…They are very different players. Amare would not take that turn around that Drummond keeps taking… he would dunk it…Drummond needs to go to the hoop harder if he wants to be compared to Amare… Plus Amare has never had a rep for playing D.

6-11 270 pounds guys with the athleticism that Dre has in the league…  Offensively his WAYYYY better than D. Jordan…   Who by the way just recieved $10 Million a year last year…  So the answer to your question yes he will make people pay for passing up on him…  He has the tools to be the next D12 but at worst will be a serviceable big man thats able to rebound and block shots…  With a little offense…

Hell Kwame just got picked up by the Sixers…  You think Dre won’t pan out???  I bet the Blazers will be kicking themselves when its all said and done…  I might get negs but their draft was terrible to me as they grabbed 2 overrated players…

he is more of a cousins he(cousins) has a problem with his mental attitude and apparently so does drummond(not that i saw it in the summer league) but i think with his great passing ability and rebounding and def skills and his soon to be improvement on offense will help him be a good nba player with a makings of a great all star someday

drummond realisticlaly is in the mix of a demarcus cousins or a derrick favors
