Man, he’s looking alright tonight. Also, the Knicks have Ronny Turiaf is looking impressive on defense.

Knicks had 16 point lead, Toronto sped up tempo, Knick only up 4 now.

Against the worst defensive frontcourt in the league its not anything to write home about.

Hes gonna have a tougher time against Bostons, and Portlands frontline.

Im not hatingh just saying hes not going up against much offensivly, and reabounding wise.

I dont think its worth creating a thread when we already have the knicks vs raptors thread.

im on the side of the order here.

Big deal he has a 100 million dollar contract he should do this to Toronto. Bargnani 18 points 4 rebounds… Whats your point he isnt playing any d or rebounding well. Evans has 10 rebounds…

Eh, it’s still a nice stat line regardless. If you seen the game, he’s shooting better as well.

If that’s the case: I wanna see you say the same thing when Greg Oden has a good game and someone posts it.

I wouldn’t say he’s looking alright at all; Bargs dropped 18! on him and Turfiaf so far, and Amare has 5 TOs. A sub par game against the weakest defensive front court… of the last 5 years?

Alot of those turnovers have not been his fault.

Also, Stoudemire has not been guarding Bargs. Mozgov was early and Bargs scored 7-9 on him alone ( a couple FT and 2-3 jumpers). That’s why Mozgov is out.

Yeah they dont want Stoudemire in foul trouble, plus both times he tried to help on Bargnani barney flipped a nice finger roll on him.

New York won and Amare had a decent but not great game for a new team.  I dont see what the hate is about. Amare could have played a lot better yet they got the win.  also Boston just lost to Cleveland so New York against Boston is not really the tough game I originally thought.

Because you guys are giving Amar’e too much credit.  Look at both sides not just his double-double.. I mean he nearly pulled out a triple double counting turnovers.

I agree but like I said, some of those turnovers were not his fault. He had 5 in the first half, played terrible in the 3rd and had one in the 4th.

So he got better as the game went on. Yes, the turnovers have to go down but 19 points, 10 rebounds and several late game baskets in the clutch.

Oh, I’m not saying he played a horrible game, he’s going to be a 20+ 8+ rebounder for the season.  Atleast, he better be, for that contract

The only way that contract will really be worth it is if he bumps up that scoring average from 20 to 25. Then again, it’s very rare that someone averages 25+ points and 8+ rebounds a game — even in a system like D’Antoni’s.

i think he needs to be a 24 and 9 player to be honest. not hating on him(hes my fav player) but 24 and 9 should be easily acheivable.

and wheres the hate for lebrons turnovers. he has 17 tos in 2 games. just a point, its early and these guys are getting used to their new teams.

the knicks were supposed to win and amare was supposed to play well. lets leave it at that.

3rd of all, LeBron is the primary ball handler on the Heat, whereas Amar’e is a post player.

he didnt have nash as a 20 year old rookie when he got 14 and 9 and won rookie of the year. and not many 20 year olds get numbers like that.

everyone saw stoudemire dunk on passes from nash, but why does nobody watch him 1 on 1 when he is unguardable. nash didnt make him that much better. he made it easier for some buckets but stoudemire would be stoudemire without nash for his whole career.

point is, amare was always going to be a beast. he can get his own shot whenever he wants. nash made guys like shwn marion better because he was an athlete more than a basketball player.

if you threw the ball down to amare on every possession, he would almost always get a good shot. dont hate his offense because that is who he is. the hating on his d and rebounding is legit but amare can score

20-8 isn’t a beast, especially when he can easily be a 25-12 guy going for DPOY year after year.. Yeah, without Nash, he’s still going to be a lazy/overpaid NBA player.

again there is no doubt he should get atleast 11 rebounds a game and should probably be a better defender but there is no doubt in my mind he will get atleast 23ppg, which is good for a post player like you said. its harder to score when someone else has to get you the ball(see dwight howard).

and as far as the lazy and overpaid statement, i dont think you can put a price on a dominant low post scorer. nash was the mvp of the suns but amare was the reason they advanced in the playoffs because he was unguardable.
