MagikKnickParticipantAccording to Jalen Roses’ “research & sources” Its almost Certain Lebron Wont Return To Cleveland
http://twitter.com/jalenrose/status/16855852190
And he list Bulls, Heat, and Clippers as canidates….(looks like the Knicks are out, but I could of told you that)
So, is Jalen Rose pull this from his ass? Or is this something to look into?

NorthernLights666ParticipantIf he wants to be maxed, like in a Sign and Trade max where he gets the most money possible, the Cavs will still have to agree to trade him. Unfortunately if that’s Lebron’s choice for a contract the Knicks won’t have a chance in hell to get him, what are they going to offer the Cavs, a resigned David Lee and Danilo Gallinari? No thanks, they already have a massive contract at the PF in Jamison. If Lebron were to choose that route, getting the most money he can now before the new CBA is in, what other teams could offer more in a trade than the Knicks? Of course there’s always the scenario of Lebron just outright signing with a team and losing $25M over the course of his contract, but the who the hell would give that kind of money up to just sign with another team? Especially the Knicks. How about Devin Harris, Wes Johnson, Terrence Williams and the Nets 2011 unprotected 1st Round Pick for Lebron?

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantOf course there’s always the scenario of Lebron just outright signing with a team and losing $25M over the course of his contract, but the who the hell would give that kind of money up to just sign with another team?
——————————————————————————————————————————————–The thing is if Lebron signs with Miami he wouldn’t have to pay state income tax. and if he signs with Chicago he’d only have to pay 3%. That would save him alot of money in the long run which could offset the $25 million he might lose by leaving Cleveland.
Likewise living in LA and New York might open him up to even more marketabilty and increased endorsements essentially offsetting that $25 million as well.

IndianaBasketballParticipantYou take all of these rumors with a grain of salt, but Jalen doesn’t usually talk just to talk.
I think LeBron is gone. They fired Mike Brown. Danny Ferry stepped down. LeBron isn’t involved with anything the team is doing right now in regards to their coaching search or roster moves. I think it’s becoming clear he’s gone.

malikballerParticipantisnt it pretty obvious lebron wont return to clevland next season?…mike brown…gone…..dan ferry…gone….tom izzo…doesnt want to come to a CLE team that wont have lebron…old ass roster with very little financial flexibility to help him win…would you stay if you were lebron????…NAHHHHH…i’d rather go to the bulls with a young roster and $$…or then nets for the same reason…or then if its all about the money..then ofcourse, the knicks…

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI have to ask…Who honestly thought Shaq was going to help Cleveland get a Title?
Since Game 6, I knew LeBron was leaving. As a Knick fan, I would love to have LeBron but I think he needs to go to where he could win. Alot of people say Chicago but I would be hard pressed not to say New Jersey. All the pieces are there. Besides Derrick Rose, New Jersey has the better roster. Plus, LeBron is also getting a young, quality big man in Brook Lopez.
To me it’s: Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Miami and New Jersey as the top 5

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantHe Knew he couldn’t win with the roster he had and said give me more help…when the help they got him couldn’t get it done and wanted more help…when Shaq couldn’t “get the King a Ring” and Jamison was in hangover from the Washington debacle he blamed a bum elbow and now wants out…It’s going to be Clear to the world what kind of guy Lebron is…If he picks a squad that has everything but a superstar and leave Cleveland is the dust…he’ll have a brief moment at villainy before he’s re crowned the NBA golden boy …one thing for sure is if LBJ leaves Cleveland…he better start claiming the new town his hometown…Cause he’s cut….

FDAPOHonestly…. I don’t think LeBron really cares that much about Mike Brown or Danny Ferry having jobs…. The reason he would stay is because of it being his home.
And if I’m a Cavs fan, LeBron would easily become my most hated player of all time. I don’t think theres ever been a scenario where a player of LeBrons caliber has left their team in their prime.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/23/2010 - 6:23am #338459
IndianaBasketballParticipantI look at it like this… Danny Ferry was the GM that hired Mike Brown and made the roster moves necesary to turn LeBron and Cleveland into contenders. They’re both gone now. The players that LeBron developed a bond with are being shopped. It’s like Dan Gilbert has gone into panic mode. They had a lot of success, but no rings… Which is a failure in LeBron’s eyes.
I think it’s time for LeBron to move on. I can’t see him going back.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantNot to mention…They don’t even have a Coach.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipant1.Bulls…they do have Rose and Noah but no ones in a hurry to trade for Deng and Hinrich and win the Bulls a Title…he’ll have to sign there out right and be the man in Jordan’s shadow…he’ll never get 6 rings and why magnify that in the man’s building…MJ would also vomit in his mouth at the sight of LBJ in a Bulls Jersey…
2.Heat….Have no team assembled…they have the luxary of having Wade but Wade is also a free Agent…He can very well sign in Chicago as well and be better for…there won’t be a star connection unless somebody’s willing to take a cut…Who do you see taking a Cut>?? Miami have the cap but no real team in place to say anything about next year…That might not even have a draft pick by the sounds of the rumors…Beasley is also not happy and they offered him up for Keyon Dooling types…that will not get a you a ring in the near future…
3.Knicks…in the same boat as Miami minus Wade and Beasley…they have the cap…but they more questions about their line up and future roster…they can sign him out right..but who’s going to take a cut and trade for Curry…
4.Clippers…out of the last 2 teams listed..the Clipps have the 2 best option for LBJ to win…but to be honest the Clipps owner and placement have them behind the pack…If the were the Seattle Super Sonics they’d have a 100 times more likelihood of signing him…Their young line-up has promise but Blake’s injury killed that dream…also not getting an impact player through the draft or trade before the draft lessen the chances by a lot…if they could make a splash move and dump Baron then they got a shot…
5. Last one the list but the place where he’d have the biggest chance at success..there is a real worst to first appeal with Brooklyn waiting, new owner, new city, new players…add the fact the Nets have a great young core that honestly supersedes the likes of the Clipps,Kings,Wolves.Heat,Knicks and Bulls.none of those teams has an All Star Point Guard, Top 5 center, top 3 Pick, lots of Cash, Young core with a future all defender T.Williams, 3 point sharp shooter C.Lee and international marketing icon Yi..
They’d be a few backup away from instant contention…The thing is Lebron better jump on the Nets bandwagon before Wade and Amare or Wade and Bosh or Wade and Dirk…the least the Nets can do is Joe Johnson and David Lee or Carlos Boozer…either way they’ll be a way better team then people give them credit for…I’d be thinking like a want now and not risk signing with a team that has no real line up or aging stars and bloated contracts….0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/23/2010 - 6:40am #338484
bkb77ParticipantI think theres only 2 other options besides the Cavs. It’s NY & NJ. I think the clippers are out because they cant sign 2 max FA & thats Kobes town until Lebron could win 5 or more titles,so there out. The Bulls are out because no matter what he will ever do it’s MJ city & he could never live up to the expections of lebron bringing 6 title in a row. Then theres miami which is closer to the 3 tops but he knows him & d-wade could never co-exist cause they both have to dominate the ball.
So that Leaves The Cavs(his home team & he still never delivered a championship to Cleveland like he promised).Thens theres NY the Meca of b-ball where he can get any other FA he wants to come(Bosh) & they have 2 young pieces to either play to trade for a PG(maybe Tony Parker),He also could be offered stock in MSG which is worth more then anywhere else he could go so the money would be there, but he wouldn’t have alot of depth after his starting 5. Then theres NJ where his friend Jay-Z owns, theres tons of young talent in d-harris,b.lopez & the 3rd pick, plus he can add another FA to go with him, they also move to Brooklyn in 2 or 3 years which Lebron has been quoted in saying that is his favorite city, the bad is he would have to play in jersey for 2 to 3 years.
So if i had to put odds on it id say 35% NY,30%NJ,25%Cle,5%MIA,5%Chi,5%LAC.0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/23/2010 - 6:47am #338486

Mr. BasketballParticipantscarecrow thats flat out ignorant to think that the clippers would have a better shot to get lebron if they moved to seattle. Hello, one of the main reasons LA is in it is because they’re a huge market. Seattle couldn’t support their team why would Lebron want to go there???
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/23/2010 - 8:02am #338557
NYK2010ParticipantIts not 25 mill per its for 6-7 years big difference.
He’ll make plenty of money in a big market with ads and business.
Yeah i’m sure he’s going to the Clips after watching the Lakers win another title.
The West is loaded he’s staying in the East.0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/23/2010 - 8:27am #338576
The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantI said your team had the 2nd best team for LBJ to play and win…but your team’s owner and current location and franchise history are about as appealing as a case a crabs….
