aamir543ParticipantPost your own All-NBA Teams. And remember, we can’t take into account what has happened in the playoffs
G- Chris Paul G- Kobe F- Lebron F- Durant C- Tim Duncan
G- Westbrook G- Harden F- Melo F- Blake Griffin(I really don’t want to do this, but there’s no one else, don’t want to give it Aldridge because his team didn’t make the playoffs) C- Marc Gasol
G- Tony Parker G- Steph Curry F- Paul Pierce F- Paul George C- Noah
I know Gasol is going to get it over Duncan, but overall, Duncan does everything Gasol does and then some.

DipoTimeParticipantI wanna know why Dwight gets no love now. Is it cuz of all the drama the Lakers had? Is it cuz of all his whining? Or is it cuz he just didn’t play as great as we are used to seeig him play? Through the team change, multiple coaches, drama, coming off surgery, and playing through pain all season long he still averaged 17.1 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks. I would also like to point out that from March 6 on (the last 21 games) he averaged 20, 13.4, and 2.8. Those are much more like Dwight.
I’m not saying he is first team and I’m also not saying this just because one person doesn’t have him on any of the 3 teams, but I know that most people on here and in the media have been saying other centers have passed him and I just disagree. I think they may have had one season of catching him but I’m willing to bet that next season he will be back on top.

Ny2daDeathOFmeParticipantwhat is mainly, its the fact his defense wasnt as good as his other years and it showed in the lakers overall defense. You gotta take in consideration Dwight’s main attribute is his defensive presence and as we all seen this year his impact was below his usual self regardless of his stat line.
Duncan, gasol and noah’s impact on the floor was higher then dwight this year. A player stats doesnt mean everything.

DipoTimeParticipantI see what your saying and for the most part I agree, but he was hurt and stepped his game up as the season progressed first of all. Second of all, the other 3 players had much better defenses overall, so it’s not like they made them good defensive teams.

Ny2daDeathOFmeParticipantso would you say or are you debating Dwight howard actually deserves a spot on the all nba team this year? and they may have had better defensive help but they were the ancors of their team defense so all three was the main reason why their teams flurished on the defensive end.

SubZeroParticipantAn argument could be made for David Lee in Blake Griffin’s spot on 2nd team

mwalling2117Participant1st team: G- Chris Paul G- Russell Westbrook F- Lebron James F- Kevin Durant C- Marc Gasol
2nd team: G- Tony Parker G- Kobe Bryant F- Paul Pierce F- Carmelo Anthony C- Tim Duncan
3rd team: G- Stephen Curry G- James Harden F- Paul George F- Blake Griffin C- Dwight Howard
I put Westbrook on the first team because he played such superior defense compared to Kobe. Kobe gambles a lot on defense leading to easy buckets, plus he spent so much energy on the offensive side of the ball that his defense suffered greatly this year.
I also put Gasol over Duncan for first team because of the quality vs quantity debate. Duncan was more efficient than Gasol, but Gasol plays more often (about 6 more minutes of great defense and basically the offense running through him per game). Bill Simmons said it best when he said would you prefer have 30 minutes of A basketball and 18 minutes of C basketball or 36 minutes of A- basketball and 12 minutes of C basketball?
The two forwards on the third team were really hard to fill. I wanted to put Lee but his defense sucks or Aldridge but his team missed the playoffs.

ovaeast14ParticipantSeriously, why so much hate for Blake Griffin? Are you guys really going to sit here and act like he didnt produce in the regular season averaging 18ppg 8rpg and 4ast in 32mpg on a 54 win team? Not to mention he improved his ft %, defense and overall game.
Lets not be prisoners of the momment from his last playoff series. To say he doesent belong anywhere near the All NBA list is just laughable
