Alec Burks just annouced his decision to go pro. I think he is a 9-14 pick, and I think the teams that would be best for him are the Bobcats, Bucks, Jazz and Suns.

"I felt like I was going to be a top-10 pick in the lottery and I felt like it was something I couldn’t pass up," Alec Burks said.

Burks said he plans to sign with an agent, which would prevent him from returning to school. However, he said he might wait until the deadline to withdraw from the draft before doing so.

Burks led the Colorado in scoring with 20.5 points a game this season and also was the team’s leading rebounder, averaging 6.5 rebounds a game.

"The role of myself and our staff and our players over the last couple weeks has not been in recruiting, it’s been in supporting him," coach Tad Boyle said.

Boyle praised Burks for how he has handled myriad distractions throughout the course of the year.

"He has handled it as well as any young man could have handled it," Boyle said.

I pulled that article from scout.com

Good for him, I think the Bucks or Bobcats are potential landing spots for this guy. Always been high on him.

Yeah, I was pretty vocal about my opinions on him going in the top 5, but I think he’ll be a solid player in a couple years.  I think the Bucks would be his best destination, he isn’t a great shooter, but I feel he’d operate well next to Jennings and be able to run with him in the open floor, and with Bogut down low causing defenses to collapse a little he’d have more open shots to develop his jumper and they have decent depth so he can be brought along slowly, kinda like Paul George was this year.

Please Jazz pick him early at 6. (Unless they get a top 3 pick) I know his stock is more towards late lottery but the Jazz really need him and he is likely gone by the 12th pick.

I think the Jazz need a small forward, more then a shooting guard. I think Heyward can be a solid shooting guard like Dunleavy was.

Hayward is more of a 3, and I think of him more as a backup scorer not a starter. The Jazz really need both the SG and the SF. The Jazz have not had a legitamate shooting guard since Jeff Hornacek! They can’t pass up on this golden oppurtunity now.

His stock won’t be near late lotto.  After workout and everything, Im certain he will be a top 10 pick.  SG is weak in this draft, SG is weak in the NBA right now.  Teams have a need and Burks has upside.  The draft is very weak in general so his stock should flourish.

Very true, mdymes. That’s why the Jazz have to pick him early at 6 if they want to finally have a legitamate shooting guard. Miles is more of a bench player and as I already said, Hayward is a three. And not to mention, He best fits the Jazz style of play because he is such a good passer.

He could easily go Top 5. If a team like Minnesota slips to 3 why not take Burks. He fits in well at SG and is proven alot more then Kanter, or Valanciunas. Way more then Biyambo. Anything can happen once workouts start.

    I’ve said it a 1000 times..But i just love saying it””Alec Burk is OVERRATED”’!!!

I say he should go in the 12 to 25 range…If he goes in that range, the team that selected him will get a guy that will give them about 10 to 12 points a game…But if he goes in the top 10 and teams expecting a 2nd or 3rd option type player will be disappointed…

What makes you a non-believer of Burks? 6’5, legit NBA speed/quickness, ideal athleticism for an NBA guard, ability to create for himself aswell as for others, his only true weakness offensively is his inconsistent jumpshot (which can be corrected and be improved). He is also a good rebounder for a SG, defensively I dont know much about him but given his speed and athleticism he probably has potential to be a good one.

He’s not a very good defender @mess. eee. He does have the tools and work ethic to improve though.

I have grown to like Burks as a solid prospect. He’s going to be a solid player. He has the ability to get to the rim and finish, he’s a better passer and ball-handler than I thought, and he’s very smooth. Burks also is a certified BEAST as a transition player, so expect a good amount of alley-oops as PG’s in the NBA will love running with him. He needs to gain strength, get better on D, and get a better jump shot, as well as just getting more polished overall, but he will be a good player. He is a hard worker who noticeably improved from his Fr. to Sophomore year.
