when he was a freshman i honestly didn’t think he would be an nba prospect because he was so raw and didn’t know how to play the game… but his skill set is impressive for a 6’10" or 6’11" player… he can shoot a bit off the dribble.. spot up shoot… face up and he’s very athletic… at the next level he should be a viable stretch 4… the amount of improvement he’s shown is great… he could end up being a lottery pick from 12-14th

I like this kid’s game, he surprised me with the game a couple of days ago when he had like 29points. He was hitting jumnpers, running the floor getting dunks. I compare him on the next level to Taj Gibson he could come in and be a 3rd big man on a team like the Pelicans with an Anthony Davis, Ryan Anderson and a guy like Jason Smith behind him. That kind of core can compete and allow Adreian Payne to play to his strengths and not try and do too much. But all in all he is built for the next level its good to see hard work pay off.

Why would the pelicans need another stretch 4?

I think NO would benefit from having someone who can play with the back to the basket (actually, who wouldn’t?)

PS: Adrien Payne is really good, though.

The Pelicans dont need a back to the basket player with the wings that they have. They play a free flowing style that needs big man that know how to shoot and rebound. He fits the bill. Jason Smith is averaging 10-5 imagine Payne when he fills out playing that role he’d average about 15-8 in that system. With Jrue Holiday, Tyreke Evans, Eric Gordon, Austin Rivers the Pelicans have guys that drive the lane they don’t want a 7 footer down their because otheir center is a "back to the basket" player.
